Super God Pet Shop

Chapter 5, come and collect.

Chapter 5: Coming to Collect (Fifth Update)

"New player quests completed, host panel unlocked..."

"The pet shop is officially open for business."

"Establish the [Currency Conversion] module, establish the [Chaos Nurturing Spirit Pool]..."

"New player quest rewards have been distributed. Would you like to claim them now?"

The familiar system notification sound snapped Su Ping out of his reverie. Upon hearing the reward, his eyes lit up, and without hesitation, he said, "Claim it!"

"The host has acquired the beginner-level 'Pet Appraisal Skill'."

Pet identification techniques?

Su Ping waited a few seconds, but when he didn't hear any more prompts, he couldn't help but widen his eyes.

That's it?

After enduring three days of hellish torture, all I got in return was a Pet Appraisal Technique book? And a beginner one at that?!

With the Federation's comprehensive pet encyclopedia, Su Ping considered the pet identification skill to be utterly useless, a skill so trashy it couldn't be more useless.

"The pet identification technique issued by this system can discern the types of billions of star pets, far surpassing the capabilities of your pet encyclopedia."

The system responded coldly, clearly dissatisfied with Su Ping's indignation and complaints.

Su Ping was taken aback.

Understanding the secrets of millions of star pets?

In his memory, even the Federation's most authoritative and comprehensive pet encyclopedia seemed to contain only a few million pieces of information on star pets, including many that had already become extinct.

Is this what they call a system-generated product, guaranteed to be top-notch?

Su Ping's resentment vanished instantly. Although this was different from the reward he had hoped for that would immediately enhance his strength, it was still an extremely valuable skill.

Moreover, if he were to enter an ancient land like the Thunder Cloud Sea Realm again in the future, he could use this identification technique to identify those ancient star pets. After all, most of those star pets have become extinct, and there are not many records of them in the Federation Atlas.

Having just acquired the skill, Su Ping was filled with excitement and eager to try it out. After looking around, he suddenly thought of the Thunder Light Rat.

"Where's this little thing?"

Su Ping hurriedly ran to the pet room at the back and saw that the Thunder Rat was already fast asleep in one of the ancient stone tooth arrays.

Clearly, the three days of hellish ordeal had left it utterly exhausted, so it fell fast asleep as soon as it returned to this familiar place.

Compared to three days ago, Thunder Mouse's appearance hasn't changed much, except that there are a few more strands of dark purple in its light purple fur, and its body is a little thinner.

However, the faint, sinister aura emanating from it made the Moon Chasing Hound in the Stone Fang Formation tremble with fear and extreme unease.

Seeing that it was alright, Su Ping breathed a sigh of relief. Although the contract had been dissolved and they could no longer communicate or exchange feelings, he was already somewhat reluctant to part with the little guy after only three days together.

Unfortunately, it belonged to someone else and had to be returned eventually.

"Should we use pet identification technology?"

As Su Ping sighed inwardly, a prompt suddenly popped into his mind.

How do we identify this little guy?

Su Ping hesitated for a moment, then chose yes.

Thunder Mouse

Attribute: Thunder-type pet

Rank: Upper Tier 1

Combat strength: 3.6

Qualification: Lower-middle level

Ability Control: Lightning Rush, Lightning Flash, Lightning Shadow Afterimage, Lightning Severance, Lightning Cloak

Su Ping was stunned.

Lightning?

He actually saw "Lightning Flash" in his ability control!

It really learned this top-tier lightning-based secret technique?!

Su Ping was somewhat shocked. In the subsequent battle, he did not see the Thunder Light Rat use "Thunder Flash" again. He thought he had misread it, but he did not expect that it had actually mastered it!

It's astonishing that a mere Thunder Rat, the lowest-ranking creature found everywhere in the Federation, could master the "Thunder Flash," a skill that even high-ranking seventh or eighth-tier Thunder-type Star Pets struggle to master. People would probably think he's insane if they found out!

"This little guy... his value has skyrocketed!"

Su Ping regained his senses, his eyes shining.

A Thunder Rat that has mastered the secret technique of "Thunder Flash" is worth more than a hundred times more than its kind.

Not to mention the other major skills.

Besides the Lightning Rush that Thunder Rats generally master, aren't "Thunder Slash" and "Thunder Shadow Remnant" essential skills for high-level star pets?

With so many powerful skills, the Thunder Rat could easily be considered a low-level divine beast.

Strangely, its attribute aptitude is listed as "lower-middle level".

"The qualification assessment is based on a comparison of all Thunder Rats' data from the beginning of endless chaos to the present, so the host need not doubt it."

Sensing the doubt in Su Ping's heart, the system said calmly.

"All the Thunder Rats..."

Su Ping was stunned and speechless.

The number of Thunder Rats born in the Federation each year is already difficult to count, let alone if we start counting from the distant chaotic era.

So, if we calculate it that way...

This Thunder Mouse is already incredibly strong, ranking in the lower-middle tier!

……

……

Su Yanying looked up slightly and could already see the sign of the little pet shop at the end of the street—Little Mischievous Pet Shop.

The sun was shining brightly today, but Su Yanying's mood was gloomy and terrible.

She never expected to be so unlucky, being forced into a desperate situation in the preliminary stage of the pet competition.

This is the academy's annual grand event, where students' strengths and weaknesses will be showcased. Through the competition, students can catch the eye of some Star Pet Masters, receive better instruction, and build a brilliant resume when they join a Star Pet team in the future!

Unfortunately, in three consecutive rounds, she encountered formidable and popular opponents, resulting in all of her carefully nurtured battle pets being injured and unable to fight anymore.

Stopped at the preliminary round?

This is absolutely unacceptable to her!

She had already spent a lot of money to hire a top-notch pet healer to treat the injuries of one of her battle pets.

But one is not enough; it can only be used as a trump card.

She also needs to act as the vanguard, probing out the enemy's ace battle pet.

If the academy hadn't banned pets that completed their contracts within a month from participating in competitions, she would have even considered buying a few more pets temporarily, even though that would have put a huge strain on her mental health and could have caused problems.

But now, she has no other battle pets left, only a Thunder Rat that is being fostered elsewhere.

A very ordinary low-level Thunder Mouse.

Nothing special.

She had originally planned to give up on it, since the Thunder Rat could no longer keep up with her pace and would only be a death sentence against the opponent she was facing now.

Fortunately, she was a little soft-hearted at the time and did not terminate the contract directly, which resulted in this Thunder Rat becoming the only second battle pet she can use.

Although it's a bit weak, it should be fine as a test stepping stone.

"Is the boss in?"

Pushing open the door, Su Yanying entered the pet shop and casually glanced around. She noticed that the shop was empty, as if it was about to move.

Is it going to go bankrupt?

Su Yanying thought to herself, "Luckily, I arrived in time."

"Is anyone there?"

Upon hearing the sound, Su Ping immediately left the pet room and saw a pretty young girl standing inside the shop, looking around.
