Chapter 341 The Rift
Chapter 341 The Rift (Part Two)
Before her eyes, Julianne's car wheels were still spinning rapidly, rain pelting the vehicle with a dense patter. Lightning flashed across the sky, but a few meters away, there was no trace of light.
Ike admitted that he was somewhat frightened, as neither science nor magic could explain the bizarre scene before him.
He reached out and beckoned to the side, and a branch flew over and landed in his hand. Ike took a deep breath, gripped the branch, and tentatively reached forward.
Surprisingly, it went in very smoothly. When I pulled it out, I could clearly see that the part that had gone in was wet from the rain.
Then they threw in a small pebble, and watched helplessly as it bounced a few times on the ground before leaping out from the front of the car.
"Could it be safe?" Ike wondered, reaching out his hand, but ultimately lacking the courage to try it himself.
After thinking for a moment, he plunged into the nearby woods, pulled out his wand and tossed it into the air. Before long, he returned with a squirrel in his hand.
When he returned, Julian's car was still driving, which made him feel a little relieved. He was really afraid that the "plot" would end while he was away, and now it was just right.
Carefully, we put the squirrel inside. A sudden downpour startled the little guy, and he darted to the side with a powerful leap. He hadn't gone two steps before abruptly changing direction again; he had almost run himself under a car wheel.
What Ike saw next made him even more wary. The little guy was clearly trying to escape for his life, but in this space, just like Julian's car, no matter how it moved, it didn't appear to move an inch to those outside.
Ike frowned. He roughly understood that this space didn't restrict inanimate objects, but it did restrict living ones. According to Julianne's memories, they would probably have to stay inside for a while until this strange space disappeared.
Okay, here's a new question: Will Ike's return from the future cause some kind of anomaly in this space?
The unknown is always dangerous, and the danger before him might be the greatest he had ever faced. He was unsure whether he should go in.
"Snap!"
Another bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, and the rain poured down even harder. Julianne's car gradually slowed down, while the squirrel simply ran to a corner and stopped.
Suddenly, a strange thought popped into Ike's head: the heavy rain and lightning must be urging him to make a decision quickly.
To go in, or not to go in?
Ike closed his eyes slightly, his attention focused on the useless notebook system, staring blankly at the line "Divination LV5". He knew very well that his sudden inspiration just now was not unfounded, but a real new revelation.
Just then, another bolt of lightning streaked across the sky. Ike gritted his teeth, gripped his wand tightly after a long absence, took a step forward with his right foot, and landed in the pouring rain.
Upon entering, Ike didn't know if the space had changed or if it was always like this, but he didn't see the trembling squirrel that had stopped by the roadside. The car that had seemed to be moving in place was also moving away at a visible speed.
Ike reached out his left hand and beckoned back; a squirrel slicing through the raindrops landed in his hand in the blink of an eye. With a flick of his finger, the squirrel fainted and was casually tossed into Ike's pocket. Then, with a flick of his wand, just in case, the Disillusionment Charm struck him again.
After getting ready, Ike quickly chased after the departing car. As before, he easily followed, strolling leisurely as if taking a walk.
He didn't look at Julianne, who was driving cautiously inside the car, but stared straight ahead. That inexplicable feeling had returned, and his intuition told him he should do it.
About half an hour later, a blinding bolt of lightning flashed menacingly, and the next second, everything suddenly froze!
The rain stopped in mid-air, and the splashes of water on the ground and cars also ceased. Ike was still in the position of stepping forward with his left leg, and the little rain he had just lifted off his right heel also stopped.
It's as if time has stood still...
Everything around him froze, but Ike's thoughts and senses continued to function normally. He could feel the rain falling on his body and "see" the flashes of lightning in the sky.
It's very strange; the eyeballs didn't move, but the "gaze" could move freely, as if it had no effect at all.
"look up……"
A sudden jolt went through him, as if a voice was speaking to him. He unconsciously looked upwards, towards the spot where the lightning had struck.
At first, there was only pure light, but gradually, that light changed. What fell into the eyes was no longer pure white, but had many colors that rippled like flowing water.
Brilliant, dazzling, mysterious—Ike couldn't quite describe the eerie feeling, but he knew in his heart that it was the most mysterious and beautiful thing in the world.
The colors rippled, as if they had truly transformed into flowing water. It was very clear, and you could vaguely see scattered fragments within, like pebbles resting quietly at the bottom.
Peaceful and still, without moving...
Suddenly! Some stones emitted a soft glow. Looking closer, they revealed frozen images.
Some photos show a boy reaching for a baby bottle, some show a boy sitting in a classroom with his hand raised, some show a boy laughing loudly in front of a computer, and some show a boy and a girl cuddling together.
Looking at each image in turn, it depicts a person's life. And on the last image, there is a speeding car, two terrified faces, and a cat not far in front of the car.
It's kind of ugly-cute, with a flat cat face that looks like it's been smashed flat by something.
"Krok Hill!"
Ike involuntarily cried out in surprise, and in that instant, he staggered and took two steps forward. Steadying himself, he stretched his limbs and looked around; the raindrops were still strangely suspended in the air.
Without thinking about why this had happened, Ike immediately looked up at the lightning bolt in the sky. Thankfully, the images were still there.
He looked at it carefully again, not missing a single picture, especially the last one, which he studied for a long time. Ike knew in his heart that this was his "life," from birth to death.
But why would Mount Crook appear there?
"Why……"
With a sigh, things changed again. The images suddenly blurred, turning into pure, soft light that gathered together and then fell straight down from the sky.
The light fell very quickly, but Ike could clearly see every subtle change in it. From pure light, to a tiny human figure appearing within it. When it landed on the ground, the light transformed into a swaddling cloth, enveloping the tiny person.
Another ray of soft light fell, landing on the swaddling clothes and embroidering a name...
his name.
Ike stared silently at the infant on the ground, remaining silent for a long time before raising his head again. At that moment, the magnificent stream of water in the sky was slowly fading, losing its mysterious and dazzling colors, leaving only pure, blinding white light.
The next second, the rain suddenly started falling!
