Chapter 309 An Eerie Silence

Chapter 309 An Eerie Silence

"There's no need for them to be tried; just lock them up in Azkaban!"

Scrimgeour shouted sharply, coldly eyeing the werewolves who were all bound in the distance, and waved for them to be sent away immediately. Dumbledore said nothing. This was already a very mild approach to dealing with Death Eaters.

At the height of the last Wizarding Wars, in a situation like today, all the werewolves except Greyback would have died. Back then, the Ministry of Magic even lifted the restrictions on the Unforgivable Curse for the Aurors.

"Then we'll be going now, Rufus," Dumbledore said softly, glancing at Newt beside him, who nodded repeatedly.

"Thank you for your help." Scrimgeour finally smiled, shook hands with the two men, and then walked towards the area where the Ministry of Magic personnel were gathered.

They were waiting for the prison van from the ministry to arrive; they had already sent a message, and it should be soon. Meanwhile, Dumbledore, Newt, and the Order of the Phoenix apparated away.

After the battle, the Ministry of Magic removed the Anti-Apparition Charm.

Not long after, the sound of flapping wings came from the sky. Looking up, they saw five or six carriages flying towards them. Without exception, everyone could see the Thestrals pulling the carriages.

The carriage slowly landed, and one by one, the werewolves had their wands taken away and were herded inside. After all the werewolves were locked inside, magic was cast on the carriage doors. This was a necessary measure to prevent the prisoners from breaking down the doors and escaping.

The Aoros were divided into groups of three, each responsible for a carriage. Scrimgeour was also in the lead carriage; he was going to witness firsthand the werewolves being imprisoned in Azkaban. He also had some matters to discuss with the guards currently stationed in Azkaban.

It's easy to guess; it's nothing more than saying things like "don't be careless" or "be careful."

"drive!"

The Thestrals flapped their wings, took a few steps on the ground, and then pulled the carriage into the air, flying straight towards Azkaban.

They flew very high and very fast. The cold wind at high altitude lashed at the faces of Sklinger and the Aoro, but none of them trembled at all. Instead, they all seemed very excited.

This was undoubtedly a resounding victory! Their hearts were filled with the imagined cheers and applause of the crowd. No one worried that the werewolves would escape; without their wands, where could they possibly run to in mid-air?

As darkness fell, several hours later, they finally spotted a solitary island in the sea in the distance, with a tall tower standing in its center. The Thestrals slowly slowed down and descended, then surged forward for a short distance after landing on the island before coming to a smooth stop.

"minister."

A dozen or so neatly dressed men stood in front of the tower gate. After Scrimgeour got out of the car, the leader quickly walked over, bowed to Scrimgeour, and said, "We are ready."

"Very good, thank you for your hard work, Edward." Scrimgeour shook hands firmly with Edward, patted him on the arm, and then turned to the Aoros still sitting in the carriage, shouting, "Gentlemen, please help our passengers off the train!"

"They've arrived at their stop!"

Doors opened one by one, and werewolves were roughly pulled off the vehicle. Those who were more seriously injured fell to the ground, while those who were less seriously injured were not much better off, but fortunately, they could still stand up after staggering a few steps.

"Let me go, you bunch of scum!"

Graybury's tall figure appeared, with two Aoruo holding him tightly, but they were still almost pulled away. At this moment, one of the Aoruo shoved him hard from behind, and the two Aoruo holding Graybury on both sides also exerted force together, and he even tripped, causing him to fall face down to the ground.

"I will kill you! I swear, I will definitely kill you!" Graybury stubbornly raised his head, his face smeared with blood from when he had just hit his head. His mouth was gaping open, half a front tooth missing, bloodied and extremely ferocious, yet he was still struggling on the ground.

The two Aoruo slammed their weight down on his shoulders, pressing his face firmly to the ground. Unable to exert any force, Graybury could only vent his frustration by cursing and shouting.

"The prisoners are all behaving themselves, aren't they?" Scrimgeour said calmly to Edward, without even glancing at Greyback who was roaring not far away.

Edward remained calm and respectfully replied, "Everything is normal, except that without the Dementors, the prison is always very noisy now."

"We'll have to work hard for a while longer. The ministry is currently researching ways to make the prisoners more obedient. Some have suggested using hallucinogens, but there's a lot of opposition," Scrinker said.

"Those people should really stay here for a while," Edward grinned, "I think hallucinogens would be a good idea; they could have a similar effect to the Dementors."

"That's what the person who proposed it thought too, but..." Scrimgeour spread his hands and shrugged, "Some people think it's too inhumane."

"Are Dementors humane?" Edward shook his head slightly, not pursuing the topic further. Seeing that all the werewolves had disembarked, he said, "Minister, everyone's down."

"Ah, okay." Scrimgeour nodded. "Well then, thank you for your hard work, Edward." With that, he shook hands firmly with Edward and patted him on the shoulder.

"I'm going back now."

"Yes, Minister, don't worry." Edward bowed slightly and waved his hand. The guards who had been waiting in front of the tower came over and took the werewolves from the Aoruo.

They had been guarding this place for months and were quite adept at dealing with prisoners. The werewolves who struggled and groaned in the hands of the Aurors immediately became docile in their hands. Even Greyback lowered his head and let the two guards drag him toward the tower.

Seeing that his limbs were weak, he fainted.

Edward stood at the entrance, watching as the guards led the werewolves inside. He had already prepared their cells in the middle of the tower.

Of course, Greyback deserved a higher cell, similar to the Death Eaters like Malfoy, and more space to move around compared to other werewolves. But without exception, it was always a single cell.

One by one, the werewolves entered the tower, and Edward watched quietly. Seeing those once arrogant and ferocious werewolves bowing their heads filled him with satisfaction. He closed his eyes slightly, as if enjoying the moment.

Hmm... the smell of blood is very strong, I hope he can make it through;

Hmm... why does this smell so bad? How many days has it been since you took a shower?

The footsteps kept creeping into Edward's ears, sometimes strong, sometimes weak, but always eventually becoming weak again—a fascinating transformation.

"kindness?"

As he listened, he suddenly frowned; there hadn't been any footsteps around for quite a while. He opened his eyes, but his body froze.

A disheveled-looking werewolf stood quietly beside him, his hands casually folded in front of him, a strange smile on his face. Beside him, seven or eight guards floated in the air, struggling. Their mouths were wide open, but no sound came out.

It was eerily quiet.
