Chapter 302 The Scent of Blood
Chapter 302 The Scent of Blood (Part Two)
The Abbots, one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans, are considered one of the oldest wizarding families in the magical world.
However, by the early 20th century, the Abbot family no longer stubbornly maintained its so-called pure-blood honor, and their dwindling numbers meant they no longer had the means to continue.
So, Ike's old classmate "****" Hannah Abbott is actually of mixed race.
From the perspective of family continuity, the Abbot family's choice is quite normal, but in Old Fu's view, it is undoubtedly a betrayal of purebloods!
During the last Wizarding War, the Abbots stood against Voldemort, but Voldemort was preoccupied with dealing with the Order of the Phoenix and thus had no time to spare.
Of course, this is also partly because the Abbot family did not actually participate in the battle between the two sides.
Now, things are different; the fence-sitters have absolutely no room to waver anymore...
"Mr. Abbott, you should know very well why I'm here," Ike said softly.
"That's impossible! Give up, you lackey of the Dark Lord!" Mr. Abbott shouted, but his slightly trembling arm betrayed the fear that filled his heart.
"Tsk tsk tsk... If you don't want to agree, you don't have to say such harsh things..." Ike shook his head, his face full of helplessness. "Originally, all you had to do was kill the Muggles next to you and join us, but now..."
"Why……"
Shaking his head, Ike stood up, waved his wand at the four people who had been facing Abbott and his wife, and then leisurely walked outside.
"Be quick and efficient."
"Yes, young master!"
The four men spoke in unison, then grinned maliciously and launched a simultaneous attack on the two men still standing at the top of the stairs.
"Avada Kedavra, eating a giant melon!"
A blinding green light flashed, and the four of them quickly walked out of the house and came to Ike, who was standing at the gate of the yard.
"It's all taken care of, young master," one of them said respectfully.
"Let's go then." Ike nodded, and the four of them bowed again. Two of them then bent over and quickly took two steps to stand in front of Ike and lead the way.
After taking only a couple of steps, Ike suddenly stopped. He turned around, glanced at the house with half a wall missing, and with a wave of his hand, the scattered wood splinters flew up and the wall was restored to its original state.
"Let's continue..."
They passed several more houses along the road, but did not go in, until they saw a slightly crooked little wooden house and stopped.
The door was broken down with the same violent force as before, but the owners of this house were not as stubborn as the Abbots. A flash of green light appeared, and when they came out again, there was a numb man behind Ike, but the veins on his hand holding the wand revealed that his heart was not as calm as he appeared on the surface.
After a night, five more people appeared behind Ike—three men and two women—all seemingly numb, some with traces of undried tears on their faces. Ike, however, paid no attention, leading the group through the cemetery back to where they had boarded the vehicle.
Standing on the road, sounds could be heard coming from the village behind him. A little boy rode past a group of people on a bicycle, his bike laden with bundles of newspapers. Ike stared at the boy's retreating figure until he disappeared from sight before turning back.
"What a beautiful sight..." he sighed, silently closing his eyes. He waved his hand gently, and a sinister smile reappeared on the faces of the four men.
He stared fiercely at the five people who had joined later, and the five people's bodies immediately trembled slightly, tears welling up in their eyes.
They closed their eyes, took a deep breath, and turned to face the peaceful village, where everyone was in tears. They raised their wands with trembling hands, as if using all their strength, and stammered out a spell.
"Flames...blazing..."
The scorching flames fell on the houses, the grass, and the trees, engulfing the entire village in just a few minutes. Screams and cries filled the air as Muggles, disheveled and still covered in embers, ran from the burning houses.
The man carried his weeping wife to the roadside, then gritted his teeth and rushed back into the inferno; the woman held a wailing infant in one arm and struggled to drag a man whose body was still half on fire with the other.
One incident after another, scene after scene, brought the five people to tears. But even though their hands were trembling uncontrollably, they stubbornly held up their wands.
Gradually, the fear and pity on his face disappeared, leaving only pure numbness.
"What a pity, I thought I'd be able to taste fresh flesh and blood." The most disheveled of the four licked his lips, grinned, revealing a set of black and yellow sharp teeth. He closed his eyes slightly, smelling the aroma of roasted meat in the air, and a look of intoxication and longing appeared on his face.
"Snapped!"
Suddenly, his body was thrown high into the air, then crashed into a house already engulfed in flames, followed by a heart-wrenching scream. The remaining three looked anxiously at the house, then bowed their heads to Ike.
"Please forgive him, young master..."
Ike's face was cold as he silently watched the house creak and groan under its own weight until it collapsed completely, at which point the screams around him subsided considerably.
With a wave of his hand, the three rushed into the still-burning ruins. Soon, two of them dragged a person covered in black out of the ground out, while the remaining one kept pouring water spells on the black man, making a "sizzling" sound. Wisps of white mist rose into the air and quickly dissipated.
They knelt down in front of Ike, but Ike's gaze was fixed on the motionless black man on the ground.
With a cold snort, he waved his hand, and a beam of white light fell upon it. Before long, the man began to groan.
With great effort, he opened his limp eyelids and opened his mouth, but half of his lip fell off. Yet, he seemed to feel no pain at all and continued to struggle to get up.
"Please...please forgive me, my...my young master..."
Ike coldly watched him struggle on the ground, his gaze then sweeping over the five other people who were also kneeling on one knee with their heads bowed. After a long while, he finally spoke, but his tone was unusually cold.
"I should have told you, hide your disgusting bestiality..." he said calmly. "I don't care what you were like when you were hanging out with Graybury, but you must not let me hear or see anything that makes me feel nauseous in front of me."
"Right, you wolf cubs?"
"Yes, young master..."
"So, you have no objection to this little punishment, right?" Ike bent down, looking directly into those eyes that had completely lost their eyelids.
"No...no..."
"Very good." Ike nodded in satisfaction, raised his hand, and the wand appeared in his grasp. He turned and extended the wand, and in the blink of an eye, a double-decker bus stopped in front of him.
"Welcome aboard the Knights..." The ticket seller had barely finished speaking when he froze on the spot, staring in horror at Ike and the others, and the raging flames behind them.
Ike smiled kindly, took nine Galleons out of his pocket, and handed them to Stan.
"Ten people, plus the money for the tickets we owed last time."
Stan stared blankly at the Galon in his hand, then subconsciously replied, "Thank you, sir."
"No, thank you, Stan."
