Chapter 243 The Chaser

Chapter 243 The Chaser

Once everything is out in the open, there's no need to hide anything anymore.

Just as Ike stopped using magic to hide the giants' whereabouts after setting foot on British soil, Dumbledore also stopped hiding the reorganization of the Order of the Phoenix, and even the headquarters of both sides were no longer a secret.

Knowing this is one thing, but without absolute certainty, neither side will act rashly. Whichever side shifts from overt to covert operations will not be good for the other.

With everyone moving at full speed, Ike led the giants to their final destination in just over a day. After instructing the tall horse to settle his people, Ike departed.

He doesn't need to handle the rest; Old Fu will send someone else to take over.

Leaving the giants' territory, Ike went straight to the nearest town. He ordered a salad at a fast food restaurant and sat down quietly to eat.

The taste wasn't great, but it was what food should be, and Ike was happy nonetheless. The giants' diet was very monotonous, and they hadn't had a chance to cook properly along the way. It was all grilled meat, and they didn't even have staple foods like rice or noodles. To be honest, Ike was really tired of eating meat, and even just seeing the hamburger patties being fried in the kitchen of this fast food restaurant made him feel nauseous.

They really overate.

With a few bites of salad and a sip of iced cola, Ike ate slowly and deliberately, savoring the crispness of the greens. The crunching sounds were surprisingly pleasant at that moment.

"This guy... he's so arrogant!"

"So what? Are you confident you can handle him?"

"no."

"Then let's keep an eye on him. Isn't that what our task is?"

On the second floor across from the fast food restaurant, the window was closed and the curtains were drawn. Three people were inside, holding magic wands, and they pulled the curtains open a crack, watching someone eating in the fast food restaurant across the street.

It was the same three Ao Luo who had run away earlier.

They immediately reported the situation upon their return, but the Ministry of Magic was powerless to do anything about it. They couldn't ignore it either, so they sent the three men back to monitor Ike's movements.

As for other matters, let's wait until the new minister takes office before discussing them.

After receiving their mission, the three set off to find Ike, only to discover that he hadn't concealed his presence at all. So they followed him from a distance all the way to Scotland, and then to this small town. With just a simple Confusion Charm, the three obtained an excellent surveillance location.

So, magic can be really convenient sometimes.

"Where do you think he'll go after he finishes eating?"

"I don't know, maybe they'll go find the mysterious person. Isn't it said that he's the mysterious person's student?"

"Then... what if we encounter a god... a mysterious person?"

"No, you won't be able to reach him."

"Oh...that's good..." the one leaning against the left by the window replied casually, but immediately realized what was going on. All three of them turned around at the same time and pointed their wands at the person who had suddenly appeared.

Even as the person was eating a bowl of salad, the three people's hands were still trembling slightly.

Because of fear...

"Go on, keep going," Ike said, forking up a piece of lettuce and waving it at the three of them. "Who knows, I might even answer your questions?"

"Like when you asked if we'd encounter the Dark Lord, didn't I already tell you?"

The three stood motionless. They were lucky to have witnessed the battle in the Ministry of Magic's hall, but because of that, they dared not make any rash moves.

Aurora can indeed be considered one of the best wizards, but he is still far behind top wizards like Voldemort, Dumbledore, and Ike. And based on the strength Ike displayed that night, he couldn't even withstand a single blow.

Ike remained silent, eating his salad while watching the three of them. For a moment, the only sound in the room was the crunching of his chewing, which was rather eerie.

"Oh……"

After finishing the salad in their bowls, the three remained motionless, like statues. Ike found it both amusing and somewhat pathetic. Holding the bowl and fork in his left hand, he used magic to make them vanish. With another flick of his wrist, the iced cola reappeared.

"Boring..." Ike muttered as he drank his cola, but the three of them trembled even more violently. Finally, after finishing his cola, Ike lost his patience. He muttered something under his breath and disappeared from the room.

It took the three of them quite a while to recover. They leaned against the wall, panting heavily, and their backs were soaked with sweat.

The one in the middle mustered up her courage and pulled the curtain open a crack to look at the fast food restaurant across the street, but didn't see Ike. Then her legs went weak, and she sat down on the floor.

"Gone?"

"I'm gone."

"Shall we continue?"

"What are you continuing for? Go back!"

"Then... how should I report it?"

"Just tell the truth. Anyway, those people know there's no way this can succeed... The gap is so huge, how could it possibly succeed..."

The three sat on the ground to rest for a while, until they were sweating and their legs were no longer weak, before they clasped their hands together and Apparated away. Of course, before leaving, they didn't forget to cancel the Confusion Charm cast by the original owner of the house.

After all, he is Ao Luo. Even if he is a little distracted, he would not do anything to harm Muggles.

With a crisp sound, the three disappeared from the room. But soon after, two more people appeared—a young couple. The man had red hair, and the woman was quite attractive.

"Too late." Bill waved his wand, and four blurry figures appeared in the room. Three of them were leaning against the wall, while the other stood alone to one side.

They were just standing there.

"They don't look like they did anything, so they should be alright," Furong said after a careful inspection.

"That's a good thing." Bill waved his wand again, dispelling the light and shadow.

"Good news?" Furong raised an eyebrow.

"Of course." Bill nodded. "Given the current situation, Scrimgeour should be the next Minister for Magic. As the former Chief of Staff of the Aurors, these Aurors are all his loyal followers."

"As you know, Dumbledore is doing everything he can to win over and gather power. If anything happens to anyone, it will be a loss."

"I know," Furong sighed, "I just didn't expect him to have reached this point. During the Three Kingdoms Tournament, I could still vaguely see his figure, but now he's fallen so far behind..."

"My dear..." Bill looked at the forlorn-looking Fleur, pondered for a long time, and then said, "You probably didn't see his back back then... Think about the magic that split the Black Lake in two, that's something even Dumbledore at his age couldn't do."

"This was said by Dumbledore himself..."

Hearing Bill's words, Fleur relaxed a bit, and a smile returned to her face. Seeing this, Bill couldn't help but take Fleur's hand and place it on his chest, saying softly, "Don't overthink it. We just need to do our own thing. He and the Mystic are Dumbledore's opponents, but we're facing Death Eaters like Lestrange."

"And don't forget Hermione, maybe she can handle this guy?"
