Chapter 241 The Phoenix Society's Obstruction
If there's anything to say about this trip, besides the difficult mountain roads, it's that you should never underestimate the power of a country's Ministry of Magic.
While France may be a laughing stock in some countries, and its Ministry of Magic has the lowest profile of all nations, it depends on the comparison. It's at least comparable to, and perhaps even more reliable than, the currently chaotic British Ministry of Magic.
However, the reaction was slow.
When Ike crossed the Channel and set foot on British soil, several neatly dressed wizards suddenly appeared in the port of Calais across the sea. They were clearly furious, but since Ike and the giants were now on British soil, there was nothing they could do.
Ike glanced at it from afar, not intending to pay it any attention. He walked straight to the tall horse, who was still wearing that armor when he swam across the sea. Although he was the strongest in the tribe in terms of physique and strength, he was exhausted.
But the giant's strength lies in this: its regenerative ability is truly remarkable. When it first came ashore, it was like a dead dog, but now it can sit up.
"We don't have much time to rest, maybe ten minutes at most," Ike said. "In ten minutes we'll be heading north. The area they've assigned you is almost in Scotland, supposedly your ancestral land?"
"Ten minutes? No problem." Gao Gaoma agreed readily. "By the way, we don't need to hide anymore, right?"
"Yes, we've arrived in England, so it's no longer needed." Ike nodded, then waved his hand to remove the magic that had enveloped the giants, and enormous figures suddenly appeared.
The giants didn't seem to care, but across the sea, the group of French wizards were furious.
I couldn't hear what they were saying from a distance, but it certainly wasn't anything nice.
Ten minutes later, all the giants got up from the ground, and Ike was still leading the way at the front. This time, he didn't need to look at a map; he knew the entire terrain of Britain by heart. But it was also troublesome, as he had to avoid transportation routes and densely populated cities and villages.
Although the giants came to cause destruction, that's a matter for later. All Ike can guarantee is that they won't cause too much chaos before they reach their designated location.
On this point, he still trusted the guys at the Ministry of Magic; they might not be good at anything else, but their ability to handle the aftermath was absolutely top-notch.
Heading north would be much faster, firstly because they were familiar with the route, and secondly because they wouldn't need to hide their tracks like they had in France. Ike knew very well that given the current situation of the Ministry of Magic, they probably wouldn't take any strong measures, even though someone had arrived at the scene within fifteen minutes of Ike setting foot on British soil, they had only issued a warning.
These three individuals, who had likely only recently become official Aoro, had previously dealt with issues such as unrest caused by dark creatures, and even the turmoil Moody had stirred up after his retirement. Dozens of giants—this was clearly beyond their capabilities.
They were so stunned that even their routine shouts were trembling.
Ike coldly swept his gaze over them, offering no real threat. The tall horse looked down at them coldly, and the three of them retreated in unison.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The tall, fierce-looking man pounded his chest armor with his battle axe and roared at them, appearing even more ferocious. The translator, quick to respond, also yelled "Get lost!" and the three vanished from the spot.
It actually teleported away in a phantom form.
Ignoring these three guys who were probably just there to make a fool of themselves, Ike led the giants onward. But they hadn't gone far, only about ten minutes after the three Aoruo left, when three more people blocked their path.
"Stop, Ike!" Hagrid's tall figure was very conspicuous; he had a scruffy beard and shouted loudly.
Ekko raised his right hand, and the long line behind him immediately stopped. The tall horse stepped forward, standing behind Ekko, its bright silver armor gleaming.
He calmly looked at the three people blocking his way; they were all people he recognized. Hagrid in the middle was obvious, Lupin was on his left, and Bill, the eldest son of the Weasleys, was on his right.
"Long time no see, Hagrid, Lupin, and Bill," Ike said. "Get out of my way. You should know very well that this won't stop me."
"No, Ike!" Hagrid shouted, "You should know that we won't let you and those giants behind you get past!"
"That's right, Ike, give up, come back. We'll talk to Dumbledore," Bill added. "Go back to Hogwarts. You shouldn't be with those people."
"Go back?" Ike sneered. "I don't want to go back."
"There's nothing left at Hogwarts to attract me," he said, glancing thoughtfully at Bill and Lupin's sides. "There are others, aren't there? Dumbledore won't just send you two to stop me."
"Humans...no, just us!" Hagrid cried. "We are enough!"
"Don't make me laugh anymore, Hagrid." Ike shook his head. "I can sense two familiar magical forces, Fleur, and... Sirius?"
"I told you we should just start fighting! Those who follow the Dark Lord are all bad seeds!" Sirius Black suddenly appeared next to Lupin, his eyes bloodshot and filled with hatred. Fleur, on the other hand, didn't react much and seemed rather calm.
"Come on! I let you escape back at the Ministry of Magic, but this time I'm going to bring you back!" Sirius shouted, and Lupin, Hagrid, and the others rushed out before they could even react. Sirius raised his wand and waved it, sending a beam of red light straight toward Ike.
"Disarm you!"
"Snapped!"
The white halo flashed by, and the red light disappeared instantly upon hitting it. Ike didn't hold back either, unleashing a green light in return.
This terrified Lupin and the others. They never expected Ike to be so ruthless, unleashing a killing curse with a single stroke. Sirius didn't even have time to react before being struck. His wand flew from his hand, and his body was thrown high into the air as if hit by a truck before slamming heavily into Lupin's arms.
"Sirius! Sirius!" Lupin shouted, holding Sirius in his arms, his eyes glistening with tears.
"Cough cough, I'm fine, Moonface." Sirius coughed twice, feeling a sharp pain in his chest, as if a rib was broken. "It's just a disarming charm... Damn, are all students this cunning these days?"
Just then, Bill summoned Sirius's wand and ran over to hand it to him. Fleur also came over, but her attention was focused on Ike, her wand pointing directly at him.
"Be careful, he's tough to deal with. He was better than me two years ago," Bill said.
"Troublesome brat!" Sirius coughed as he stood up with Lupin's help, feeling a sharp pain in his chest after moving around a little. But it was easily resolved; a healing spell did the trick.
"Alright, round two!"
