Chapter 25 The Amazing Rorschach

As dawn broke, Wan Dong walked wearily forward through the closed-off monster town.

Although he was exhausted, he had a smile on his face. After a night of fighting, his results were impressive. He had killed a total of 51 monsters!

Suddenly, Wan Dong frowned.

Its sense of smell, enhanced by genetic energy, keenly detected a bloody odor.

"Why is there such a strong smell of blood..."

Muttering to himself, Wan Dong cautiously walked toward the direction from which the smell was coming.

Soon, after turning a corner, he arrived at his destination.

When Wan Dong saw the scene before him, he was so shocked that he stood there stunned.

All that could be seen in sight—

The monster's corpses piled up into a small mountain.

The blood of various monsters almost turned the entire street into a black and red world.

At the very top of the hill of corpses sat a man covered in blood, with a Silver Moon series longsword casually placed beside him, also stained with various bloodstains.

The man on the monster hill glanced at Wan Dong as he approached.

In an instant, Wan Dong shuddered, feeling as if he were being stared at by a ferocious monster, and his heart skipped a beat!

Wan Dong opened his mouth as if to speak, but it seemed that this action was merely a way for him to breathe more easily.

"Waaaaah... Waaaaah..."

suddenly.

A series of piercing noises echoed throughout the town, while simultaneously, a deep voice boomed through a loudspeaker, resounding throughout the entire town—

"Time's up! All prospective martial artists, assemble at the town's exit immediately!"

Wan Dong snapped out of his daze and subconsciously glanced towards the town's exit. Immediately afterward, he heard a soft thud, and the man sitting on the monster hill leaped up and landed beside him.

goo-dong-

Wan Dong swallowed hard, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the blood-stained man who slowly walked past him toward the town's exit!

He could see that the man's backpack was filled with the monster's left ears!

"Rorschach..."

As he softly murmured the other person's name, Wan Dong felt a surge of complex emotions, like a jumble of spices spilling out, leaving him with a myriad of feelings.

I was really overestimating myself yesterday...

With a self-deprecating smile, Wan Dong glanced back at the mountain of monster corpses, shook his head with a wry smile, and headed towards the town's exit.

……

Exit of Monster Town.

One by one, aspiring martial artists emerged from the town, each covered in bloodstains, some from monsters, others their own.

Suddenly, the crowd stirred.

The aspiring martial artists who had been gathered together instinctively parted to make way, and then a man covered in a thick stench of blood, carrying a backpack full of monster ears, slowly walked out.

"Holy crap, who is this? The smell of blood is overwhelming! Is it his own, or a monster's?"

"Look, his backpack is full of monster ears! How many monsters must he have killed!"

"Wow, that's amazing!"

The prospective martial artists looked at Luo Xia, who was covered in blood, with admiration and awe in their eyes.

After last night's battle, they all knew how powerful the monster was.

Some of them even died during the assessment process.

However, Rorschach hunted down a backpack full of monsters all by himself! What an amazing feat!

"Xia!"

While others couldn't recognize Luo Xia, Luo Feng could recognize his younger brother at a glance.

He saw Luo Xia walking towards him covered in blood and his heart skipped a beat. Fearing something had happened to Luo Xia, he rushed over, looked him up and down, and anxiously asked:

"Xia, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

Upon seeing his older brother, Luo Xia smiled and said in a relaxed tone, "Brother, I'm fine. The blood on me is from the monster; I'm not injured!"

Luo Feng breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

He looked at Rorschach's overflowing backpack and asked in surprise, "How many monsters did you kill? Your backpack is almost full..."

Rorschach thought for a moment, then said uncertainly, "I didn't count carefully, but there should be over a hundred, right?"

He was lying in wait on that street last night.

As the number of monster corpses on the streets increased and the stench of blood grew stronger, many monsters were drawn to fight Rorschach.

At first, Rorschach would count how many monsters he had killed.

But then too many monsters came, and he couldn't keep up with counting them.

Luo Feng gasped, "Over a hundred?!"

"I think so..." Rorschach said.

Luo Feng looked at his younger brother with a wry smile, "What did you do last night? How did you manage to kill so many monsters?"

Just as Rorschach was about to speak, a series of heavy trucks drove out of the town, and these trucks were piled high with the corpses of monsters!

"Hey, these are the corpses of near-martial artists. Someone come and collect them."

One of the heavy trucks was parked nearby, carrying the corpses of quasi-martial artists, some of which were already mutilated, clearly having been partially eaten by the monster.

Soldiers were unloading the bodies from the trucks and placing them on the ground, waiting for acquaintances of these aspiring martial artists to come and claim them.

"what!"

"A-Gan!"

"Xiao Yin!"

Some aspiring martial artists saw acquaintances among them and exclaimed in surprise, while others threw themselves on the corpses and wailed.

"Stop crying!"

A cold, stern voice rang out.

Some of the aspiring martial artists glared angrily at the officer.

The officer's gaze was cold and stern; despite the angry stares of these aspiring martial artists, his voice remained icy as he spoke:

"When fighting monsters, how can people not die?!"

"If you've chosen the path of a martial artist, then be prepared to die!"

Why does human society grant special privileges to martial artists?

"This isn't to let you enjoy yourself; it's because you've killed countless monsters and rendered meritorious service to humanity that you're being given these privileges!"

"This trial has only given you the weakest monsters, and they're not even group monsters. If you can't even pass this trial, do you think you'll survive when you enter the wilderness?"

After he finished speaking, everyone quieted down.

pop-

At this moment, another person stepped forward, clapped his hands, and said to Luo Xia and the other aspiring martial artists, "Alright, go and hand over the ears of the monsters you hunted!"

Upon hearing this, the aspiring martial artist composed himself, walked to the side, and handed over the left ear of the monster he had hunted to prove the number of monsters he had killed.

"Two monsters with injured left ears, next one with an injured left arm."

"Lü Fang? Hmm, three monster left ears, not bad, next."

Soon after, Luo Feng and Luo Xia arrived.

The three officers sitting down were somewhat surprised to see the two brothers, especially Rorschach, whose backpack was still bulging.

"You two brothers are pretty good, with such bulging backpacks, you must have killed quite a few monsters, right?"

One of the officers asked with a smile.

Luo Feng modestly replied, "Not many."

The other aspiring martial artists were all watching Luo Xia and his companions, wondering how many monsters the two brothers had killed.

wow——

Luo Feng dumped the package, and a large number of monster left ears fell directly into the metal pot next to him, forming a small pile that filled more than half of the pot!

"So many?"

"How many monsters did they hunt down?"

The aspiring martial artists watching from a distance were taken aback.

Meanwhile, the assessment officer was counting the monster ears one by one. After a moment, he smiled and looked at Luo Feng, saying:

"Very good. A total of 36 monster left ears. So far, you've hunted the most monsters in this batch. Hmm, and you weren't injured either."

Luo Feng smiled.

Actually, he was busy training his body technique with monsters last night, otherwise he could have killed even more.

"Alright, next, Luo Xia, right? You were right to use the word 'temporarily' earlier. How many have you killed? It looks like you've killed more than Luo Feng. My backpack is almost overflowing."

The officer in charge of the assessment saw Rorschach's backpack and asked in surprise.
