Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 85

The book will be available at noon today. Actually, there's not much to say about the book being available.

After all, someone like me, a complete failure, starts with at least 10,000, if not 100,000.

There's really nothing worth writing in my scathing review of the product launch.

but……

Tonight I probably organized the current outline of this book, looked at the reviews, and thought about my recent state of mind.

I suddenly realized that something seemed off about me.

What's wrong with that?

It's just that I feel like I'm being too pretentious in my writing.

Many things that should have been written were not, while things that shouldn't have been written were impulsively written.

And he's a bit stubborn about his mistakes.

To be precise, this is not a recent problem.

It was from the latter part of the previous book that I had this feeling, as if I had lost something.

It's called the passion for writing books.

My last book, which was over 100,000 words long, wasn't signed, but I still enjoyed writing it.

Because the previous book was initially just a hobby project, I am very grateful to the editor who helped me get a contract later.

After signing the contract for my last book, I continued to write with great enthusiasm, purely out of personal interest.

But later on, I unconsciously became a little anxious because of my grades. I even wrote a plot setting that I thought was right (and I still think it is right now).

That's probably why the book fell apart at the end.

At the time, it inevitably affected my mindset. The outline was too long, and I didn't want to write it and wanted to give up.

However, I still finished writing it in the end, just thinking that I had to finish it no matter what in order to save my editor.

Before I started writing this book, I actually wanted to escape the fanfiction community.

After all, what's so great about writing fanfiction? Getting recommended requires high data standards, and there's a rumor that a portion of the revenue goes to the original author (I don't know if it's true or not yet).

However, after my boss thought my original ideas weren't good enough, I decided to come back and write fanfiction to practice my writing skills.

That's right, that's probably the reason.

I wasn't very interested in this book. From the beginning, I was just thinking about practicing my writing skills. Designing the plot, figuring out how to hit plot points to get promoted, designing exciting moments... all of that felt a bit too deliberate.

But at this point, I still had some thoughts, since if the book did well, I could earn more money.

So I did put effort into writing the earlier parts, but the plot was deliberately delayed in order to get recommended.

But as everyone knows, the results were poor. They barely made it to the third round of push, but the follow-up reading data actually dropped.

I'm a little angry, but there's nothing I can do.

So next, it's time to open the shop.

It doesn't matter anymore... It doesn't matter how it's written...

Then let's do as we please. If the eldest brother needs immortal herbs to ascend to the throne, then let's develop the technology to mass-produce immortal herbs.

As for the plot, it doesn't matter if the auction scene is a bit padded, since I'm a tired writer after a long day at work. So, it's fine if it's a bit drawn out; just bear with it...

It is precisely this low mood that makes the recent plot seem casual and not very interesting.

Is this really the right thing to do?

Just because the results aren't ideal for a while, does that mean you can just set up shop anywhere?

I saw another comment from a fellow reader, and I don't know if I should just write whatever comes to mind or write something serious from now on.

So what should I write next?

Are you opening the stall?

Or should I write it seriously?

I'm torn, should I open it up?

But is this the right thing to do?

That's wrong. If it were me when I first started writing "The Odyssey," I would definitely have answered that way.

If you don't take your work seriously, then why write a book at all? Is it really just to get a little bit of attendance bonus?

And what's the point of practicing writing like this?

Writing books without any real practice is the same as not having practiced anything at all, isn't it?

So I've figured it out.

Next, I will work hard to write the plot of each chapter.

I want to take the support of the readers of this book seriously.

I will carefully consider the plot after it is published before writing it, but if it is really bad, please tell me and I will revise it directly.

Or we could ask for everyone's opinions again, and then decide whether to revise or rewrite.

Tonight I've already deleted all the drafts of the water chapters and rewritten them carefully, speeding up the pace and not writing anything unnecessary.

The book will be available at noon today. I will release a minimum of seven chapters (14,000 words in total, including the chapters I rewrote tonight after deleting my drafts), and then I will continue writing and release as much as I can.

The following Sunday will also feature a 10,000-word update.

But then, because the author went back to being a corporate slave, working from 9 to 6, including commuting, he usually got home around 6:30 pm and could only start writing around 7 or 8 pm.

Therefore, the only possible format for subsequent working days is three chapters per day.

I'll decide on selective updates over the weekend, since I occasionally need to go out with friends or go on dates with my girlfriend.

Like I said before, even if this book is as bad as the later parts of "The Odyssey," I'll still write it until it's successfully finished.

The same applies to the comments section as before. I will not set any restrictions on comments after the product is released. As long as there are no personal attacks, no profanity, and no attempts to stir up trouble, I can ignore them.

As you can see from the comments section, some people have said that this book is not good, but I haven't deleted them.

The only reasons I delete or ban you are these: you made verbal attacks or stirred up trouble.

Therefore, if you are involved in any of the aforementioned prohibited situations, I'm sorry, but no matter where you post about me, I will delete your comments and permanently ban you.

Thank you all for your support, and thank you to my editor, Shengxia (emphasis added).
