Chapter 985 Heavy Defenses

To heal the mutated soul of a third-tier wizard, one must risk contaminating the materials from the red worms and faceless beings.

It surprised many people that Alek, who valued experimental materials so highly, would agree to this.

Thor stood at the outermost edge of the experimental area, watching a half-meter-long flesh-colored worm pass through a point in the night sky that was invisible to the naked eye, and suddenly disappear.

Once the two figures disappeared from the teleportation array, Murridge immediately returned to Alec's side. "Chairman, are you really going to hand over the Red Worm Queen to Thor and the others?"

Murridge's eyes narrowed. "Given their current understanding of the migration plan, could they also leave the wizarding world via red worms in the future? I'm worried that if they inadvertently attract the attention of some being using the same disguise, could it cause us trouble as well?"

"Unless they also have dozens of Faceless Men."

"Speaker, Thor possesses Gust's soul. That guy was once the strongest Faceless One, and might have clues about the other Faceless Ones. Should I try to lure him out again?"

Murridge lowered his head and said nothing more.

Byron nodded in realization.

Alec certainly knew this, but he just didn't care.

"Byron and I are going down to take a look," Thor said, then turned to Douglas. "Do you want to come with us?"

Douglas, however, had already pulled up a chair and sat down, saying unhurriedly, "So many people have already gone down, one more won't make a difference. I'll just wait here for your data."

Saul discovered that Douglas often didn't like to conduct experiments himself; he preferred to analyze and calculate the data after receiving it.

He didn't use instruments or paper and pen when calculating formulas; he just analyzed them in his mind, and his conclusions were basically consistent with those of Thor's deductions.

Corey, however, seemed a bit troubled. "The water in this pool has a very special complex composition; every drop is extremely precious. You have no problem going in, but you need to collect it all after you come up. We can't waste it."

"It seems this pool of water is the key to the Stargate's ability to trap the Queen." Thor walked to the edge of the pool, squatted down, and examined it closely. "How are you going to collect all the water?"

"Use this." Corey had an apprentice bring out a glass dish with a leech-like worm wriggling in the middle.

"What is this?" Thor looked down at the worm inside and discovered that the leech-like worm had mouths at both ends.

The insects in the glass dish lay quietly, their fate unknown.

"According to our analysis, it should be a cocoon formed when the queen lays eggs."

"I'm taking one back with me," Thor said directly.

"This..." Corey didn't have much authority, so he could only look at the third-tier wizard who had brought Thor over.

The latter could only bite the bullet and say, "I'm sorry, Your Excellency Saul, the Speaker means that you can only observe from here for now. You cannot participate in the experiments, nor can you take anything away."

Bringing other people in is fine, but taking away important materials... is not allowed.

Thor returned the glass dish to Corey without pressuring the two of them, and casually asked, "We'll use these bugs to clean the pool water off us after we go into the water, right?"

Corey nodded expressionlessly.

Thor laughed. "Alright, I agree. Let's go in."
