Chapter 947 He's Back

Thor set off alone, this time heading to Iskapper without even bringing Cori. Instead, he kept the future Marquis of Iskapper at the Wizard Tower to work for him.

Meanwhile, to lighten the burden on Klee, Herman and the wind fairy Nerella both stayed at the Wizard Tower.

Thor only took Little Algae, Beth, and Nightmare Butterfly Penny with him.

On this trip to Iskeper, Saul is also searching for the final target of the Symphony of Fate.

Kismet had advised him that if he were to choose a target for the Death Thread in Iskepar, he should go last.

Saul could tell that Kismet was very serious this time, which meant that Iskepar's waters ran deeper than the Tribunal.

So Thor followed his advice and waited until the first four targets were stable and he had adapted to a large amount of the power of destiny before he went to Iskeper at the invitation of Radiance.

The Radiant World is located on the edge of the Iskeper continent, but it is still a long way from Ophelia's Sky City.

To be precise, Sky City is to the west of Iskeper, while the Radiant World is on the north coast of the continent.

This time, Thor received Norton's assistance and traveled directly to Iskeper via a long-distance teleportation array near Dwarf Valley. Upon arrival, Thor headed north until he reached the Radiant Base before finding his waiting party.

The newcomer was a wizard who looked even older than Norton, with white hair and a thin build that was evident even in his loose robes.

He was also a third-tier wizard, carrying a lamp whose wick emitted a bright and steady white light.

"Wizard Thor, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Edgar, sent by Chief Norton to fetch you. Please follow me."

Thor followed Edgar into the heart of a high mountain. Behind the dense jungle, the mountain path abruptly ended, revealing a steep, axe-cut cliff.

Below the cliff was another forest, with no sign of human habitation.

"You can go down from here. When you enter the entrance on the world side, please remove your magic defense and flight spells."

As Edgar spoke, he jumped off the cliff first.

He didn't even use any magic; halfway down, a blue portal suddenly appeared in the sky. Edgar fell into the portal and disappeared.

The Radiant World side is different from the world side Thor has seen before.

When Thor followed Edgar's example and fell into the portal, he found himself in a burning world. However, the flames here were white, just like the wick in Edgar's lantern.

It burns, but is not intensely hot.

There were scattered flames on the houses, trees, and even the roads. After Thor followed Edgar in, a patch of flame came to catch him, allowing him to slowly descend on the flames without using magic.

"What are these flames burning?" Thor looked at his feet, which were standing in the center of the flames, and felt as if he were soaking in warm water.

"They burn impurities in the air. The world side is less stable than the main world, and sometimes strange things are born there. The first generation of the Radiant Family has been cleaning it up ever since they settled here. Where these flames are not present, some things happen that are very terrible for low-level wizards."

The flames carried the two forward, drifting over hills until they saw a towering wizard's tower that resembled a primeval forest.

Thor had never seen such a dense concentration of wizard towers. Each tower was different in size and shape, and they were very close together, with no regard for spacing or privacy.

As the two passed through these wizard towers, several people poked their heads out of the tower windows.

When Saul looked down, he saw that these people had no eyes, mouths, or ears; their faces only had a flat nose, which they were sniffing around with great effort.

After passing through the wizard tower complex, the flames carrying the two finally began to descend.

They landed at a very peculiar wizard's tower, which looked more like an inverted bowl. The bottom of the bowl opened automatically as they landed, and then immediately closed again after they entered.

The bowl contained only darkness, obscuring the path, yet it felt strangely familiar. The power of space, through distortion, transported them to another location.

The flames beneath their feet disappeared during the spatial teleportation, and the two finally found themselves in darkness.

But when Thor looked up, he saw a sphere of light with a limited range of radiation. Lying in the center of the sphere was a small figure, like an infant in its mother's womb.

But that familiar spiritual energy made Thor realize that the person inside the orb of light was the patriarch of the Radiant Clan.

"Chief, Wizard Thor has arrived. I shall take my leave." Edgar bowed and was about to leave, but Norton stopped him.

"Edgar, you stay. If there's no one else available in the future, you'll be my next choice."

Edgar was startled, but ultimately remained standing quietly in place.

Then the baby in the ball of light turned to Thor and said, "Thor, you should have already seen that I am not yet at the end of my life."

Thor nodded; he could tell that the other person's mental strength hadn't started to wane yet. "So, what's the matter that you called me here early?"

"Gorsa is back."

Thor looked up abruptly, both shocked and delighted.

"The mentor is back?" Thor knew that his mentor, Gorsa, couldn't stay in the Eye of the Abyss for long. He was mainly surprised that the mentor had actually returned alive.

If Gorsa's experience can be replicated, then is there another way for the wizarding world to resist the Black Tide?

"Don't get too excited yet." Norton's next words were like a bucket of cold water poured on Thor's face: "Gorza... he's gone mad."

Something seemed to be moving in the darkness. The concept of distance was blurred in the darkness. A figure slowly pierced through the darkness and approached the light.

But as he got closer, Thor realized that the figure bore almost no resemblance to his familiar mentor.

It was charred and twisted, like a shriveled and burned corpse.

Thor looked down at Gorsa's unrecognizable human form and recognized a familiar aura within its shattered spirit. It was the fragment of his own soul that had been bitten off by the vengeful spirit within the layers of the body.

Could it be that even a fragment of his own soul was one of the means to help Gorsa return?
