Chapter 936 What's Contaminated...

The tail is really... so long!

Thor had Maria hold one end of the tail while he scooped up the other end like he was scooping noodles.

The end Maria took was the tip of her tail, capable of spewing out black tides. Thor had seen this tail tip several times before.

But he had never seen the other end of the tail and didn't know what it looked like.

It took Thor nearly three minutes to retrieve the entire tail that was hidden on the seabed.

Slightly unexpected yet reasonable, the other end is a fractured section.

It looked like a snake's tail that had been cut in half. At the center of the bloated, rotting white flesh was a gray bone. The bone protruded slightly, while the rest of the white flesh was compressed and piled together, with several deep folds on top and a crack beneath the bone.

This causes the tail's cross-section to look like a distorted face with features squeezed together.

And when this face emerged from the sea, it actually spoke.

"Let me go, and I will leave the Wailing Wall."

Maria, who had initially been somewhat wary of Thor, immediately exclaimed upon hearing the familiar voice, "No way! Robin, it really is Robin! How could you have changed like this?"

Robin's head rose into the air like a snake's head, aligning his face with Maria's. "Why can't I survive in this form? Doesn't this prove that my direction for body modification is correct? It's just that there are still some imperfections. I'm working on perfecting it. Once I've finished my research, I can regain my human form!"

Thor couldn't see Robin's vocal organs, but the sound was indeed coming from a crack under the bone.

"Have you completely become alienated now?" Thor asked him.

Robin was about to make a few sarcastic remarks to Maria, but upon hearing Thor's question and recalling the eyes he had just seen underwater, the rotting flesh on his face began to writhe and expel some gray slime.

"My body has been completely mutated, but because of the black tide pollution and the gray bone in the middle, my spiritual body has been mostly preserved."

Maria noticed that Thor was very interested in Robin's current state, so she stopped interrupting.

She discovered that the black tide pollution within her body was slowly decreasing. After checking herself, she found that it was Thor's tentacles absorbing the pollution from her body.

Maria suddenly remembered Thor's title of healer in the No Man's Lands and it dawned on her. Looking at the translucent gray tentacles at her waist, they didn't seem so scary anymore.

Thor noticed that he had absorbed most of the Black Tide pollution in Maria's body, and her mental state and magical fluctuations had stabilized. So he slowly released Maria, letting her stand on the sea surface by herself.

After stabilizing herself in mid-air using her flight magic, Maria immediately rushed to Robin's terrifying face. "Where's Deren? Where did you take him?"

Maria then explained to Thor, "He suddenly appeared and swept Dren into the sea. Thor, did you see him?"

"No. After I went into the water, I only caught up with his tail. The front end was in a very deep place, and I didn't sense Dren's presence."

That second-tier wizard, so loyal to Maria, is probably doomed this time. He escaped Benjamin's attempt to silence him, but still died at the hands of the same ashen bone artifact.

Maria, sensing something was wrong, stepped forward and lit a ball of crimson flame, holding it in front of Robin. "Where is Dren? Tell me or I'll roast you!"

Robin's fleshy, wrinkled eyes stared at the ball of fire in Maria's hand. "I've already eaten him."

"What?" Although Maria had a bad feeling when she lost track of Dren, she still couldn't help but exclaim in surprise when she heard that Robin had eaten Dren.

However, she was a seasoned fighter and quickly composed herself, asking in a different way, "How did you eat Deren?"

Robin remained silent for a moment before admitting after Thor tightened his tentacles, "In my current state, I need to replenish the flesh and blood of wizards to maintain myself. Although my consciousness is attached to my tail, it is still just a tail. So I will eat the flesh and internal organs of the wizards I capture."

"You need to devour the flesh and entrails of wizards to survive, so you must have eaten more than one wizard by now, right?" Thor asked Maria again. "Have any other wizards gone missing from the Wailing Wall recently?"

"Currently, the only information we have received is about Lawrence and a second-tier wizard from last time."

When Maria mentioned Lawrence's name, another long tail in the sea, which was being watched over by the small algae, suddenly twitched.

Xiao Zao immediately looked up and called out to Sol with a soft "weep".

Thor stretched out his hand and pulled over the other long tail. This tail was only about twenty meters long, far shorter than Robin's.

He looked him up and down, then suddenly asked, "You're Lawrence?"

Longtail didn't speak, but its body twisted and contorted, like someone so embarrassed they were picking their toes.

"It's Lawrence?" Maria was even more shocked. "Wasn't Lawrence eaten by Robin?"

Robin answered her question, "Lawrence secretly modified himself, and I only found out after I ate him. He hasn't adapted to his new body yet. I originally wanted him to distract you, but I didn't expect him to be so useless..."

At this point, Robin remembered that he hadn't lasted long against Thor either, so he quickly stopped talking.

"So, those who underwent tailbone modification can escape death using their tails?" Thor stroked his chin, hearing the rustling sound of his finger bones rubbing against his jawbone. "Did Dren and the second-tier wizard you ate also turn into tails?"

Robin shook his head, and some gray liquid fell into the sea. "A second-tier wizard cannot transfer consciousness."

It seems that Dren really has no chance.

Thor shook his head. "Dying like this might be luckier than turning into a tail."

Upon hearing Thor's exclamation, the usually docile Robin suddenly began to struggle. Although he could not break free from Thor's restraints, he spoke up to refute Thor.

"Who says this is bad? My current form may have flaws, but given time and opportunity, I can always perfect my body. "Tsk." Thor twisted Robin's body with his tentacle, turning it into a pretzel. "Behave yourself."

He actually agreed with some of Robin's points, but he couldn't allow him to speak to him so arrogantly.

"I... I didn't say anything wrong." Robin's voice was clearly distorted with pain, but he remained stubborn. "I understand now. The Wailing Wall has no purpose whatsoever. To have wizards die one after another for mortals? Ridiculous, idiotic!"

Maria bit her lip. "You actually think that way? Don't you know that without the Wailing Wall, the entire continent of Stathe would be pulled into the Eye of the Abyss? Where would you be able to run to then?"

"Why run? This world is about survival of the fittest. Those who can survive should naturally survive, and those who can't deserve to die. Look, didn't I survive?"

Robin's rotting, fleshy face turned to Thor again. "Didn't this wizard also survive in his own way?"

Saul shrugged, thinking, "I'm much more elegant than you."

Robin, unaware of Thor's thoughts, assumed his silence was tacit agreement and became even more arrogant, saying, "So, Maria, you might as well join us. The entire world's continents are doomed anyway; only by adapting to the new ocean can we survive. Because it's not the ocean monsters that are being polluted."

"It's the entire ocean!"
