Chapter 932 The Mystery of the Ashes

Chapter 932 The Mystery of the Ashes

Thor knew something was wrong when he saw the throbbing tailbones, so he rushed straight into the wizard tower through the main gate.

The Wizard Tower... did not stop Thor at all; in fact, it opened the gate automatically when he flew to it, making it easy for him to enter.

After Thor saw everything happening inside through the Wizard Tower's own consciousness, he understood that the Wizard Tower was asking for his help.

What are you helping with?

Of course, it's to stop bad people from doing bad things!

Clearly, the Wizarding Tower's consciousness also believes that what Benjamin is about to do is wrong! It will endanger the Wizarding Tower or the Wailing Wall!

These wizards, who died in the Storm Sea hundreds of years ago, are still doing their best to save their homeland!

After swatting Benjamin away, Thor slammed the lid of the brass box shut with his foot, then stepped on it, pinning the wobbling metal box firmly to the ground.

He leaned forward slowly, resting his elbows on the legs of the box, and with a smirk, mimicking Benjamin's twisted smile, said, "Let's end this cheesy script here. We're fighting on the front lines so you can kill people at will from behind?"

Thor turned slightly to Dren and said, "Go and fetch Maria and Wizard Murphy. You must have some kind of emergency distress signal, right?"

Deren nodded and quickly ran up the stairs.

Benjamin used witchcraft to try and stop Dren, shouting, "Sword Hell!"

In an instant, countless sharp weapons appeared in the air: needles, swords, knives, awls...

These weapons exuded a strong metallic aura, and even the magical fluctuations emanating from them were like blades, directly slicing Thor's tentacles with tiny wounds.

The weapons then split in two; a small portion chased after Dren, while the majority rushed towards Thor like a whirlwind.

Thor remained motionless, and a large number of soul blades immediately appeared in front of him, instantly shattering all the metal swords that attacked him, some of which were even pinned to the wall behind him.

Benjamin raised his protective shield and barely managed to deflect the greatly weakened Soul Blade, but the four second-tier wizards behind him were in a terrible state, almost all of them riddled with thorns. If Thor hadn't wanted to keep them alive for questioning, these people would probably have died under Thor's blade in the blink of an eye.

Thor blocked most of the weapons that attacked Dren, and dodged the rest himself.

Seeing that Dren was about to escape the wizard tower, Benjamin immediately panicked and plunged his hand into the floor.

However, when he looked up, he was shocked to see Thor appear in front of him, and then his face was covered by countless tentacles.

Benjamin felt extremely humiliated to be trapped by a fellow third-tier wizard. He had been holding back just now, but now it seemed that even if he made a big fuss, he had to take down Thor first.

Just as Benjamin was about to make another move, he suddenly felt hundreds of mouths burst open inside the tentacles that were trapping him. Then sharp teeth bit into his skin, ears, nose, and even tore through his eyelids and pierced his eyeballs.

Benjamin's movements suddenly stopped.

It wasn't Thor's attack that caused him any injury, but rather that he suddenly realized that those tiny teeth biting him seemed to contain something terrifying.

He had the illusion that he wasn't being entangled by tentacles, but rather that hundreds of highly venomous snakes were biting every inch of his skin.

The venomous fangs have already pierced the skin, waiting only for the venom glands to secrete.

But the mouth of the tentacle doesn't contain the venom glands of a snake!

Benjamin had fought on the Wailing Wall for decades, and he was all too familiar with the breath emanating from the tentacles' mouths.

That's the smell of Kuroshio pollution!

Intense, dark, distorted, with a flamboyant and unrestrained polluting power.

The more familiar a wizard is with the Black Tide, the more they understand its danger. Therefore, the moment Benjamin sensed this aura, he stopped moving and even withdrew his hand from the ground.

The other second-tier wizards were unaware of what had happened to Benjamin. They were severely injured by Thor and lay on the ground, watching as Benjamin, entangled by Thor's tentacles, sat obediently without struggling, as if his soul and consciousness had been sucked away by Thor.

The group was terrified.

Thor subdued the powerful third-tier wizard Benjamin in just two exchanges. They were completely baffled as to how Thor had accomplished this.

This terrified them even more than Saul's easy victory over Benjamin.

"Not moving anymore?" Thor saw that the wizard in front of him had finally become obedient, so he used a tentacle to lift the brass box.

Strangely enough, the gray tailbone that was just jumping around in Benjamin's hands was very docile in front of Thor.

They stayed obediently in the box, and none of them tried to jump out.

Thor was very curious about the gray tail when he first saw it in the box through the wizard's tower, and now he can finally hold it in his hands and take a good look at it.

He bent down and took out a tailbone from the box, then closed the box and continued sitting on the brass box.

The gray bone lay quietly in Thor's hand. Thor glanced at it twice, then took another gray bone from his storage device.

"These two things seem to be the same kind." Thor placed the ash bone fragments and the tailbone together.

The tailbone, which had been relatively still, suddenly lashed out with a "snap," slicing the ash bone fragments in two. Just as it was about to continue its attack on the ash bone fragments, Thor clenched his fist tightly.

When you release your grip, both the ashes in your palm and the tailbone that was just a moment ago alive and kicking turn into small fragments.

Now it's almost impossible to tell the two apart.

Thor scanned the fragments with his mental energy and discovered something within them. Then, a tentacle emerged from Benjamin's body and transformed back into a human arm.

The diary appeared in his palm and instantly drew out a wisp of white soul fragment from the ashes.

"There was an incomplete spirit hidden in the coccyx." Thor had already seen through the secret of the coccyx. He raised his hand and looked at the four second-tier wizards opposite him, who were frozen in fear. "So, you were imitating the Black Tide monsters and creating a new monster?"

The second-tier wizard facing Thor was terrified by his questions. He was unsure of Thor's attitude towards their experiments. A wrong answer could mean being killed in a fit of rage.

After all, there are 5 prisoners here!

But if they don't speak up, they'll become useless prisoners.

"We just wanted to try to see if we could transform people into structures similar to the Kuroshio monsters in order to adapt to the Kuroshio pollution."

"So you were killing monsters and killing people at the same time?" Thor rotated his wrist, letting the fragments of gray bone in his palm slide off little by little.

No.

"That's not how it works, Thor."

Thor turned his head and saw Maria leading Dren onto the steps.

The shadows covered the upper half of her face, leaving only her red lips exposed to the light.

Mary took another step down and finally stood fully in the light.

She stared at Saul, her face showing some embarrassment, but more sadness.

"I told you before that the wizards who fight at the Wailing Wall collect as many as possible fragments of gray bones to study the Black Tide's pollution and the weaknesses of the Black Tide monsters."

"You also told me that someone once used ashes to perform witchcraft modifications, but ultimately died due to maladaptation."

"Yes, but on this point, I'm hiding something from you."

A book, ten centimeters thick, appeared in Maria's hand. The book was unusual; each page was a bronze-colored metal sheet, held together by holes drilled in copper wire. Only the outer cover was leather.

After taking out the metal book, Maria touched the cover with some reluctance, then tossed it directly to Thor.

"In fact, the wizard who was transformed from ashes did not die completely. After leaving behind this book, he was severely injured by me, losing his head, and his remains eventually fell into the sea."

"And we couldn't resist the temptation, opened the books he left behind, and now we've ended up following in his footsteps."
