Chapter 723 White Beard and Orange Cat

Thor had flown to the location Penny had indicated, but there was no one there.

"They're hiding."

Thor landed on the ground.

"You flew over so ostentatiously, wouldn't a normal person hide and observe first?" Penny complained in her diary.

Just as Thor and Penny were joking around, a small, dark figure suddenly rushed towards Thor through a crack in the wall.

"Meow!!!!"

"Meow--"

Thor casually waved his hand, sweeping the shadow back against the wall.

The dark figure crashed into the wall, letting out a mournful meow.

"It was a cat?" Herman said incredulously. "A cat dared to attack you?"

"Hehe, has it been contaminated by radiation to the point of losing its senses?"

"Or..." Thor stepped forward, stomping on the dirty cat that had slid off the wall to the floor, "Is this what you want me to misunderstand?"

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong!"

The kitten opened its mouth and surprisingly spoke human language.

"Huh? It's actually a magical creature with intelligence?" Penny exclaimed in surprise.

It rarely encounters intelligent, demonic creatures.

Small algae are present, but not abundant.

So Penny was still quite intrigued to see this talking cat.

It even considered keeping the cat as a pet.

"No." But Thor shattered its dream. "It's a wizard."

"Why?"

Penny knew that some wizards could transform into animals, but that was usually a short-term transformation or an illusion.

But even though Thor has beaten the cat into this state, it hasn't turned back to normal yet. That's amazing!

It became more interested.

Thor looked down at the orange cat playing dead at his feet. "This is the first time I've ever seen a wizard whose entire body has turned into an animal. I really want to take it back and dissect it."

"No, no, no, no!" The cat on the ground was so frightened that its fur stood on end.

Just then, footsteps approached again, and the second living person who had been hiding nearby finally appeared.

"I'm sorry, sir, we didn't mean to attack you. It's just that dangerous people appear here from time to time, and we need to confirm their identity and purpose."

Thor looked up and saw a man with a full white beard emerge from the shadows.

Thor's gaze swept across the other person's face.

Although the man's hair and beard were already gray, the skin on his face looked like that of a middle-aged man, without much sagging or wrinkles.

His gaze fell on the other person's shoulder again, where he saw something that looked like a slime monster, curled up in a ball on the other person's shoulder.

The white-bearded man kept an eye on Thor's gaze, and when he noticed Thor looking at his shoulder, the muscles in his back tensed.

"Could he discover my companion fairy?"

Seeing the man's wariness, Thor casually looked away.

Then, he bent down and picked up the cat from under his feet.

"The attack was a test, the feigned injury was a test, have you finished your tests?"

Thor casually tossed the cat away. "A second-tier wizard, still disguising himself as a first-tier magic user. Is this your third attempt to test me?"

The kitten that was thrown out flipped over in the air and landed steadily on all fours.

But then it slowly straightened up, put its hands together in front of its chest, and said, "Sorry, this place is too dangerous. We were just trying to protect ourselves."

After clapping its paws, the dirty orange cat was cleaned of all its dust, and a red jacket appeared on its body.

"However, we've gotten to know each other through this opportunity. You're very strong, and your mental power is quite sharp. Among the second-tier wizards I've met, you're quite powerful. If you don't mind the little misunderstanding just now, let's cooperate."

Thor smiled slightly. "Cooperate on what?"

The cat's expression froze, and it turned to look at the white-bearded man.

"How to open the door?" This was the first time Thor had heard of this.

The orange cat stared with its round eyes. "Don't tell me you were just passing by. All the second-tier wizards are saying that the Dean of Bydon Academy went mad because he tried to open the door but failed. We entered the inner city, sealed off by Archester, precisely to find out how their Dean could open the door within his body, right?"

Thor raised his eyebrows slightly, his pupils contracted, and he looked surprised but trying to suppress it.

"Then why do you two want to cooperate with me? If you can't give a convincing reason, I can only assume this is the fourth test."

The orange cat seemed surprised that Thor was so difficult to deal with and couldn't help but meow.

The white-bearded man standing to the side offered, "Actually, the reason is quite simple. You probably haven't been to the current Baidong Academy, have you? If you had, you would know that a huge tree, hundreds of meters in diameter, has appeared there."

Saul's first reaction upon hearing this was disbelief.

After all, he could definitely see a giant tree with a diameter of over a hundred meters from this position, but when he looked towards Baidong Academy, he could only see the academy's walls.

The wall wasn't very high, less than three meters, so it couldn't possibly cover the big tree.

The orange cat waved its paws and exclaimed, "That's not a big tree, it's a tree stump! It's only two meters above the ground, and then it looks like it was cut in half by an even bigger axe."

The white-bearded man's lips, hidden beneath his thick whiskers, curled slightly. "Yes, it was a broken tree, but what's truly terrifying are its roots. The orange cat jumped up and down, "If you still don't believe me, you can go and see for yourself at Baidong Academy. But I must warn you, once you cross the wall, you'll be attacked by tree roots immediately."

"No need," Thor said after a moment's thought. "You wouldn't need to lie about something so easily verifiable. So, if we cooperate, what do we need to do? And what strategies do you have for finding the way to enter Baidong Academy and find the push-door?"

Thor's question silenced the two people opposite him.

Seeing this, he asked incredulously, "You don't have any battle plan at all, do you?"

The orange cat jumped up, "There are just too many tree roots. We've tried other methods, but they all failed in the end."

"That tree stump is likely a third-tier demonic creature. There's no shortcut to entering Baidong Academy; you have to force your way in. I'm a bit weaker than the Cat Wizard, but with your help, we should be able to get in."

Perhaps fearing that Thor still didn't believe them, the orange cat took a black stone out of the pocket of its jacket.
