Chapter 707 Behind the Seal

Chapter 707 Behind the Seal

Unlike his mentor Gorza, Thor's teleportation ability is greatly limited.

His teleportation must be connected to the Fate Line.

Unlike Gorsa, they can't go wherever they want.

Thor had Eddie come before he arrived at the Old Manor.

Eddie was unaware that Thor needed him to teleport directly over; he assumed he was being sent to explore.

He began to report his findings to Saul.

"Lord Tower Master, I have inspected this place. Since the eye of the storm was sealed last time, no other pollution has been generated. It is cleaner than most areas of the No Man's Land."

Thor nodded. "Has anyone else passed by during this time?"

"People traveling to Rhine City pass through here, but whether they are caravans or lone travelers, they generally don't go near this place."

After all, it was once the epicenter of an eruption, and there were concerns about potential pollution, so most wizards were unwilling to approach it.

Only Eddie witnessed Thor's ability to cleanse the pollution from his body, so he wasn't as wary of the old manor that had once been the site of an eye of storm as the others.

As he listened to Eddie's report, Thor's gaze fell upon the dilapidated rooftops of the old manor.

"Alright, I understand. Now, leave this place and don't tell anyone I was here. If anyone asks you about the Old Manor..."

Eddie immediately chimed in, "I said it was for the development of Rhine City, to assess the safety of the surrounding area."

Thor glanced at Eddie.

An eye appeared on the other person's forehead and then quickly disappeared.

These people seem to have already treated him as if he were the city lord.

Thor did not refuse.

Although he won't actually become a city lord or manage any city.

He would never forget that he was a wizard. The road ahead would only lead into endless unknowns.

Although this road is difficult and dangerous, we don't have to pray to God when danger strikes.

Thor entered the old manor only after Eddie left.

The original rules here have been completely disrupted by the erupting eye of the storm.

After the eye of the storm was sealed, this place became very safe for the time being.

In a few years, once the threat of the Black Tide subsides, someone will surely reclaim this place.

As he slowly climbed the dilapidated wooden stairs, listening to the cracking sounds of the wood beneath his feet, Thor suddenly felt a sense of lightness.

When they took another step, there was no sound at all.

He entered through the main entrance, which had been partially destroyed.

The main hall and corridors were covered with unknown mycelium. Some were grayish-white, while others were black.

A flash of fire.

Smoke immediately rose from the room, the mycelium was burned to dust by the high temperature, revealing the originally spacious corridor.

Now, Thor's control over witchcraft is extremely refined. The fire that broke out in the blink of an eye only burned the mycelium, without harming the surrounding walls or the old carpet underfoot.

Following the familiar passage, Thor once again arrived at the manor's basement.

The original owner of the manor underwent a transformation here and died in helplessness and despair.

A giant rat devoured the dead wizard and became the mastermind behind the entire manor's demise.

Everyone once thought that once the rats and the evil spirit of the original owner were dealt with, the place would no longer be dangerous.

However, the Kuroshio Current pollution still broke out here later.

Thor walked through the overturned experimental equipment to the place where the giant rat had died.

All that's left is a black stain; it's impossible to tell what happened.

But the moment the diary appeared in Thor's hand, the surrounding tranquility immediately boiled over.

"Sure enough, the eye of the storm started here, but it later moved outside, but the root cause is still here."

After carefully observing the lines condensed above the diary, Thor raised his hand, and several black blades appeared around his body.

His index finger is slightly forward.

The black blade beside him immediately sank into the ground.

Like cutting tofu, a large pit was dug in the ground in just a few breaths.

The ground beneath Thor's feet quickly collapsed, but he remained standing in the same spot, suspended motionless in the air.

After digging down about three or four meters, a strangely shaped disc appeared before Thor's eyes.

He then landed and raised his hand to brush the dirt off the disc.

The disc felt extremely cold to the touch, as if I were reaching into the deep sea at night.

"This is the effect of the Ice Locking Array." Thor quickly saw the hidden patterns on the disc. "It turned out like this after the eye of the storm was sealed? It seems like it doesn't need anyone to watch over it."

During this time, Thor also learned a lot about the history of the No Man's Lands. The sealed eye of the storm has never broken through the seal a second time.

This seems to be a special characteristic of space.

Therefore, these places that were once the eye of the storm will no longer receive attention.

This made things convenient for Thor.

Because he came here today to cause trouble.

"I'm not very good at earth-based magic. But..."

Thor lightly stomped his foot on the ground.

The soil beneath his feet and around him immediately flowed like mercury and gradually closed up above Thor's head.

The soil then hardened, turning the large pit that Thor had just dug into a closed space.

In this dark little space, Thor raised his hand and lit several orbs of light for illumination. Then, he used magic to draw spell circles directly on the six walls around him.

These magic arrays possess Byron's inertization formula and the ability to seal energy and prevent leakage.

He also incorporated elements of a teleportation array he had purchased in Archaeological City to enhance the spatial stability of the small room.

After spending half a day making preparations, Thor took a deep breath, and all his flesh and organs instantly became transparent, then were absorbed by his black skeleton like water droplets falling into the desert.

A skeleton, entirely black except for a section of white bone between the index fingers of its left hand, squatted down again.

"Click-clack-click-clack".

Without muscles, the bones, connected by a mysterious force, collided with each other, making a grinding sound.

The only white bone on his left hand slowly pressed against the center of the ice seal.

An extremely strong chill entered Thor's fingertips.

"This time it's truly bone-chillingly cold." The black skeleton mocked itself, not dodging, but continuing to press hard against the center of the ice-locking array.

While testing the seal with the white anchor point on his fingertip, Thor was also constantly adjusting the diary, always paying attention to whether the lines on it would project any signs of danger.

An hour later, Thor felt as if he could sense something through the sealing array.

But it's just a vague feeling, and it's impossible to be sure if there's anything underneath the seal.

After trying for a while longer, with no progress other than that vague feeling, Thor had no choice but to get up.

If we don't stop now, it won't work.

At this moment, many black water droplets had formed in the enclosed space that Thor had temporarily created, just like the condensation on indoor windows in winter.

But these black droplets are not behaving themselves.

They resembled drowning victims struggling, constantly writhing and twisting, trying to break free from the mud walls.

Although Thor didn't look at the black water droplets, his mental energy continued to cover the entire room.

Through his mental perception, he could clearly "see" that several black water droplets had broken free from the wall.

But as these water droplets broke free of the wall, they revealed what was connected to them below—a face.

The rounded water droplets here are not actual water droplets.

Instead, they are the rounded upper halves of human heads.

They revealed their faces, which had been hidden in the wall, and they looked exactly like Thor!

The hollow mouths on these faces opened and closed, and layers of sounds entered Thor's brain.

"It's...meaningless..."

That's only one update today; I'll try to make up for it tomorrow.
