Chapter 700 The Star Gate Has Been Opened

Chapter 700 The Star Gate Has Opened (Part Two)

"So, the Stargate Council and Sky City originally thought that Pei'er would die immediately after the Black Tide erupted in the No Man's Land?"

"Yes," Kismet smiled, "but they probably didn't expect that the person who was supposed to be the first to be sacrificed would, through a series of coincidences, survive under your influence. Perhaps it's fate playing a joke on them."

Kismet even knows the inside story that Pelle survived because of his influence?

Does he also know his own origins and information about the Colorful World?

He asked tentatively, "How do you know Pei'er isn't dead?"

Kismet almost immediately guessed what Thor was wary of, and he bowed again with his hand on his chest.

"Please don't worry. I can't spy on your actions. The reason I discovered the Wind Demon wasn't dead is entirely because..." He waved the half-page of the black book in his hand, "...I can sense that the Wind Demon's connection with you hasn't been severed."

"You rewrote the inevitable death of the Wind Demon, and I think that's probably related to your special identity. After all, you're a magical being who made the diary slip out of my control."

"Is it because I was a life form in the form of a fate line before I came into this world?" Thor pondered to himself. Now, it seemed that the information about his past had been unveiled from the fog.

But its complexity and mystery did not lessen Thor's doubts in the slightest.

"Kissmet, do you... know about my past?"

The other person shook their head. "I'd love to know too, but my gut tells me not to think about things that are so far away before I head over to the stars."

"Intuition...is this your ability, or an ability granted to you by the diary?"

However, Kismet seemed unwilling to discuss the matter, turning his head away and abruptly changing the subject.

"The Wind Demon is not dead; now it's the Star Gate Council's turn to have a headache."

Kismet still has secrets.

However, as long as the other party doesn't try anything funny when it comes to helping him advance to the fourth rank, Thor has no intention of exploring the secrets that others are unwilling to reveal.

He continued naturally, "Pelle was manipulated, connected to both the Black Tide and the Star Gate simultaneously. Normally, this connection would quickly dissipate upon Pelle's death. But now, she's not dead. Even though she's no longer a normal wizard, because she's still alive, the connection between the Black Tide and the Star Gate hasn't been severed!"

Kismet chuckled and licked his lips upon hearing Thor's guess, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Yes, the real show is about to begin."

Saul, however, felt no excitement whatsoever; he remembered what Camus had said when he tried to stop him.

"Behind the stargate, does an even more dangerous monster lurk? Will this world be destroyed because of it?"

"The world will certainly not be destroyed, but the stargate has been opened, and it's uncertain what will happen to the people in this world."

Saul was somewhat uneasy.

The wizarding world is already struggling to combat the Black Tide, let alone with the added pollution of the starry sky.

He returned to the round platform and saw Byron and his party carrying the motionless Brando and Corey toward the Wizard's Tower.

Those two have obviously run into some kind of problem.

When Saul went to find Kismet, he noticed something was wrong with the two of them. Seeing that they were not in any danger and were just immobilized by some kind of witchcraft, he did not rush over.

He continued to Kismet, "We need to sever this connection. Do you have any other way besides killing Pelle?"

Killing Pelle is no longer an option.

Even if Thor were willing to sacrifice her to sever ties, there's no way to find her now.

They are still struggling to repair themselves in the colorful world, and they can't even pick up all the fragments.

Kismet wasn't worried at all. "You don't need to worry so much. The wizards of this wizarding world aren't that incompetent. Just leave this to the Stargate Council and the Inquisition!"

Thor suddenly realized, "Oh, so this is what you meant by them not having the time or energy to bother me for the next three years?"

Kismet smiled slyly, "Yes, as long as we don't keep them idle, they naturally won't have time to meddle in other people's business. And I'm quite good at causing trouble for others."

He then bid farewell to Thor, saying, "My dear little brother, I must go. After all, helping you advance to the fourth tier is no easy task. It seems I won't be able to get a proper rest for the next few years."

Before leaving, he remembered something else.

"Oh, right. Here, take this." Kismet pulled two slender, golden "straws" from his palm.

With a wave of the hand, the "straw" unfolded, turning into two golden pages, which quickly dissipated into tiny glitter.

At the same time, Thor sensed two more golden pages in the diary.

"I didn't give you these two golden pages before because I didn't want you to be too influenced by the diary. But now that you have complete control over the diary and don't need to worry about becoming nourishment for it, I can naturally give you the remaining pages."

Looking at his empty palm, Kismet was momentarily dazed, but he quickly smiled again.

"From now on, if you want to weave new pages in your destiny, it will be up to you."

Kismet raised his arms high and stretched.

"It must have been a long and arduous task to do something for over a hundred years." With that, he slowly walked to the edge of the circular platform, and then jumped off.

Accompanied by a few lonely notes of string music, Kismet's figure rose and fell a few times before disappearing into the plain.

……

Meanwhile, council members who had already deployed a target codenamed "Anchor Point" to the other side of the stargate were anxiously awaiting the otherworldly information transmitted back from the Anchor Point.

But the wizards responsible for observing the state of the stargate became increasingly nervous.

Finally, one of them stood up abruptly, bypassed the various people and objects on the observation platform, and went directly to the inverted pyramid structure above to find the chairman of the Stargate Council.

Having overcome numerous obstacles, the wizard practically jogged all the way to Speaker Alec of the Stargate.

"Speaker, an accident has occurred during the experiment, and the stargate has not been closed as planned."

Alec sat on the bench, facing the sky because the direction of gravity in the room had been reversed by ninety degrees.

Murridge was standing next to the Speaker. Hearing this, he turned around, his eyes, like those of a monocular telescope, quickly adjusting their focus.

"The Speaker has noticed." Murridge was rapidly flipping through the scroll in his hand, while several quill pens floated around him, writing quickly without being controlled.

"The current problem is that the coordinates the council used to locate the stargate have established contact with the Wind Demon, who is currently missing but not dead. Therefore, the contact has not been severed, and the stargate is temporarily left with a gap. Perhaps this gap will close automatically in an hour, but there is also the possibility that it will not close at all."

Murridge said apologetically to Alec, "I'm very sorry, Speaker, I didn't expect that the wind demon Pelle could survive the double contamination."

Alek waved his hand, "If experiments always go according to our predetermined design, then they wouldn't be experiments."

Alec didn't get up, and his voice was calm, "No one can guarantee what the results of the experiment will be. However, the fact that the stargate isn't completely closed isn't entirely a bad thing."

Everyone waited quietly for Ali's instructions.

"We can begin the second phase of testing now," Ali said, his voice carrying a hint of thunder. "Activate the anchor point and provide feedback."

While the others were still in shock, First Assistant Murridge already had a smile on his face.

"Yes, Speaker." He then began to quickly take notes again. "It's a good thing the stargate wasn't completely closed. We no longer need to worry about signal clarity."

At this point, Alek spoke again.

"If the stargate remains open, and the transmitted signal's danger level is less than level three..."

Everyone looked up, some uneasy, some expectant.

"...Then send someone to observe the gap."

The wizard who came to deliver the message felt his legs go weak. He asked tremblingly, "Speaker, isn't it necessary to convene a council of members? Isn't proceeding with the observation from the gap too fast?"

Murridge was a staunch supporter of the Stargate Speaker, and when someone raised an objection, his eyes immediately focused on the other person's face.

But Alec wasn't angry. He calmly explained, "A council meeting is only needed when conducting a time-travel experiment. This was a resolution made before the Stargate experiment began. As for the schedule... we need to be as prepared as possible. You never know whether tomorrow or the Black Tide will arrive first."

This volume is now finished.

Thor is promoted to the third rank, and a glimpse into his past is revealed.

The aloof diary will gradually take the shape of Thor.

After narrowly escaping becoming a victim of the eye of the storm, Thor will also undergo a change.
