Chapter 647 Passing Grade

Kismet never said what specific connection he had with the Death Wizard's Diary.

But Saul could tell that many of his actions were related to the diary.

However, judging from his unpredictable attitude, Thor could not determine what role he was playing in all of this.

He kept stirring up trouble in various places in order to collect pages of the diary. Was it voluntary or forced? Was it out of helplessness or did he enjoy it?

But today, Thor suddenly sensed a hint of despair hidden beneath Kismet's ever-changing mask in the smile that had vanished from his face.

He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, because Kismet quickly put on a smiling face again.

"Since I've already done so much for my master, please don't lock me up here anymore." Kismet held up two index fingers and gently wiggled them. "At least let me enjoy the scenery here!"

"Hmm..." Thor murmured, deep in thought.

Five minutes later.

The wind blew across Kismet's face, turning his full head of silver hair into a slicked-back style, and his original melancholy demeanor turned into that of a dazed fool.

Kismet remained seated in his original chair, surrounded by his usual snarling, grinning algae clones.

"What I want to appreciate isn't the scenery here!"

Thor led Kismet to the circular platform at the top of the tower.

Perhaps it's getting close to winter, because the wind is particularly strong today.

They immediately caused their robes to flutter loudly in the wind.

Despite Kismet's recent sob story, Thor didn't want him to move freely within his wizard tower.

"The scenery here is quite nice."

"All right."

Kismet resigned himself to his fate, then ignored the little algae beside him, rolled off the chair onto the ground, put his hands behind his head, and lay flat on the ground.

He looked like he had given up and resigned himself to his fate.

Suddenly, the giant bird beside him spread its wings, and a pale yellow feather fell from its body and was blown by the wind onto Kismet's face.

He didn't feel embarrassed at all, and with great interest, he removed the feathers that almost covered his entire face, twirling them with his fingers.

"My adorable little brother, what's the name of this mutated giant bird?"

The pale yellow giant bird was borrowed by Pei'er; Thor had never thought about naming it.

"No name?" Seeing that Thor didn't answer, Kismet suggested with a smile, "How about Diudiu?"

Saul frowned. Neither "losing face" nor "losing" seemed quite right.

"Suit yourself. You continue enjoying the scenery. I have things to do, so don't do anything unnecessary. If I find out, I'll throw you out."

"Yes, ma'am!" Kismet had intended to stick the feather in his hair, but upon smelling a faint bird dropping, he grinned in disgust, flicked the feather away with his hand, and then performed several "Clean Up" spells. "Sigh, I've been busy for so long, and I haven't been able to do the things I wanted to do. Now I can finally take a break."

Thor had already turned to leave, but at the door he couldn't help turning back to ask, "What do you want to do?"

Kismet turned his head, pointed to the sky, and said to Thor, "I want to go over to the stars!"

……

Leaving the bewildered Kismet behind, Thor went down to the first basement level to ask Camus about the atom.

Camus remained as accommodating as ever, readily engaging with Saul's academic discussions.

However, even though she was a third-tier wizard, her understanding of atoms was limited.

Several of the generally accepted atomic models she proposed differed from Thor's understanding of atoms in physics.

Of course, Thor couldn't be sure that the atoms in this world had the same atomic structure as those in his original world.

Although third-tier wizards are able to conduct experiments based on the properties of atoms and apply them, they do not have a clear understanding of the microscopic structure of atoms.

"If I substitute the physical structure of atoms into the equation for verification, will I get the correct result?"

Thor currently has an experiment underway that requires altering the properties of a substance.

That is the inerting formula for the Kuroshio pollution that Senior Byron is currently working on.

However, it's still too early to change the properties of elements by altering atoms.

After all, Thor doesn't even know the structure of an atom.

Moreover, the Kuroshio pollution is not just an elemental issue, but also involves pollution that affects the spiritual body.

Solving only the problems of elements and atoms is not enough to complete the inerting experiment.

"Senior, you've really chosen a difficult topic for yourself." Sol rubbed his chin, suddenly having a new thought, "If elemental particles are made up of atoms, then what is pollution, which manifests differently from elemental particles?"

After learning the theoretical knowledge from Camus, Saul prepared to go to Byron for practical testing.

Not to mention that they spent half a month just on the initial experimental design phase.

Even with Camus's guidance, they couldn't improve their progress much.

One day during those two weeks, Kismet left without saying goodbye.

Like a fattened stray cat, it runs away without even saying hello.

Of course, he wasn't exactly comfortable staying with Saul, exposed to the elements.

Half a month later, Pei'er, whom we hadn't seen since leaving the old manor, finally reappeared.

As soon as she arrived, she told Thor in a small room on the fourth floor of the Wizard Tower that he had become the third Tier 3 candidate in the No Man's Land.

"A third candidate?" Thor had received information from Kismet that there were two candidates, but he didn't expect that there would be another one when it came to Pelle.

"Yes, this is the result of our hard work. It's also thanks to your mentor, who is quite famous and has connections with the Radiant Family, and we also notified Gorsa in the far north, who agreed to make you a candidate."

"I just didn't expect that the Radiant Family would also send a candidate named Corey, who specializes in light-attribute sorcery."

"Perhaps neither side could convince the other, so they ended up making both of you candidates for a fair competition. But then the Speaker of the Stargate Council also put forward someone, Luke, who, like you, specializes in dark magic. So in the end, there were three candidates."

Actually, Pell wanted to complain about how Gorza had said he would make Thor the next Tier 3, but in the end he could only be one of the candidates.

Typical example of someone whose abilities don't match their fame.

However, considering that the other party was Thor's mentor after all, she didn't want to gossip, so she swallowed her complaints.

"Three is fine, it doesn't matter." Although he was a little surprised at first, Thor quickly came to terms with it.

Whether it's two or three people, the competition is going to start, so let's see who's stronger.

If it were a life-or-death struggle, Thor would actually have some confidence.

Even the best of the second-tier wizards could not escape his encirclement and attack from his consciousness space!

Thinking this way, Thor was somewhat eager to try.

"How do we select the final candidate?" he asked Pei'er.

Looking at the confident Thor, Pei'er couldn't help but kiss him on the corner of his mouth and said with a smile, "Although the selection criteria have not yet been determined, in the end, the Firefly Lord, the third-tier from the Star Gate, and I will help the selected person open the door in their body."

"This requires that candidates must rely on their own strength to at least open the door inside their bodies a crack."
