Chapter 642 Eliminate the Weeds at the Root

Chapter 642 Eliminate the Weeds at the Root

The third Tier 3 Wizard in the No Man's Lands must belong to the Stargate Council. However, even within the Stargate Council, there are differing opinions.

However, originally it was supposed to be that the head of the Radiant Clan and the Speaker of the Star Gate each recommended one candidate, but because Gorsa and the Wind Fairy Pei'er both suggested that Thor become the third Tier 3, three candidate wizards ended up.

For other second-tier wizards, without the backing of a powerful force, they wouldn't even have the chance to know about this selection process.

If others were to become Tier 3 beforehand—not to mention the probability—they would either be driven out of the No Man's Land or head to the Wall of Sighs, the place where the most Tier 3 wizards gather.

Although the selection was conducted in secret, some people who shouldn't have known about it had already foreseen how things would unfold.

For example, Kismet.

After saying goodbye to Lucy, he went alone to Clark's old house.

The tree that was once covered with white wind chimes, along with the treehouse on it, has been turned into a stone sculpture, and is gradually cracking under the erosion of the northwest wind.

Despite having dealt with Clark before, Kismet felt no sadness when he visited Clark's former home.

Because of Clark's sudden death, the second-tier wizards who had once served him and other lower-tier wizards are gathering together to discuss their future plans.

Dreaming of establishing their own power base or joining another's forces, they went to the Wind Chime Tree House as soon as they received the news, hoping to find some legacy of a third-tier wizard there.

However, most people still underestimate the difference between third-order and second-order.

When Kismet arrived, he saw more than a dozen wizard sculptures under the treehouse.

Like the Wind Chime Treehouse, they were petrified by some inexplicable force, slowly drying out and cracking.

This sight quickly frightened away the others, so when Kismet returned a few days later, there were no other wizards around.

Ignoring the petrified wizards around him, their faces frozen in fear, Kismet walked step by step to the tree.

He raised his head, leaped into the air like a bird, and then slipped through the window into the treehouse.

"Bang!"

Kismet landed with both feet and immediately broke through the floorboards, forcing him to jump up again and then hover in mid-air.

Despite being choked by the dust kicked up in the room, Kismet still greeted the empty recliner with a cheerful tone: "Happy death, Clark."

As soon as he finished speaking, a blurry shadow suddenly appeared on the empty recliner, but upon closer inspection, Clark's outline could be seen in the shadow.

"Gorsa...he trespassed...into no man's land..."

Shadow Clark's voice was very indistinct, as if it came from the distant mountains.

But Kismet could still hear it very clearly.

"I already know about this." He shrugged, looking nonchalant. "I suspected that the mummy wizard was suspicious from the start, so I followed him into the tower and watched him set up the fake eye of the storm to lure you in. Thinking about it that way, I guess I'm an accomplice, right?"

Clark, who had originally intended to have Kismet inform Stargate of Gorsa's whereabouts, froze in place.

Kismet seemed completely oblivious to the astonishing things he had just said, and even went up to touch Clark's shadow with great interest.

But his hand passed right through the shadow, as if there was nothing in front of him at all.

"Did you leave a part of your consciousness or soul in the dream about the treehouse?"

"Kissmet!!"

The shadow let out a hoarse howl.

In an instant, a strand of Kismet's hair petrified, shattered, and fell silently to the ground.

But that's all.

"Although you absorbed the life force of the entire treehouse, and the life force of those wizards who coveted your inheritance, trying to deal with me using such methods is still..."

He was speaking when he suddenly realized that he had lost feeling in both his legs.

Looking down, I realized that my feet had turned to stone without me even noticing.

"Uh... okay, I underestimated you. As expected, a third-tier is a third-tier. Even in death, the remaining power is still astonishing."

"I want to...eat you too!"

As if absorbing a portion of Kismet's life force, Clark's voice gradually became clearer.

However, the petrification on Kismet's feet was slowly spreading upwards.

It may be described as slow, but in reality, it only takes less than a minute for Clark's remnant soul to turn Kismet into a stone statue.

Kismet now has one more option: while his upper body is still free to move, he should immediately fly away from the treehouse and to a place where Clark cannot interfere.

However, despite being humiliated by Clark, Kismet still showed no intention of leaving.

He simply watched with interest as the petrification effect spread from his feet to his legs and gradually affected his waist and abdomen.

"Let me see what the great dream weaver, Lord Clark, can achieve," Kismet's eyes lit up, as if he were enjoying the downfall of others.

But the terrifying petrification stopped abruptly just as it reached his chest.

The moisture in the skin and the fluid in the blood vessels and bones begin to stir.

Kismet immediately showed a pained expression, but he forced himself not to scream.

The petrification in his lower body receded from his body at an even faster speed, as if he had seen a ghost.

Are you testing me?

Suddenly, several wounds burst open on Kismet's body, and blood, as if it had been imprisoned for a long time, rushed out of his wounds and condensed in mid-air to form a blood sphere.

The surface of the blood cell rippled slightly, and soon a woman's face appeared.

Upon seeing that face, Clark, who had been indistinct, immediately vanished like smoke.

Kismet's face immediately turned deathly pale.

But he still wore a twisted smile. "I swear on my life that I was never testing you, lovely Lord Ophelia."

The moment the word "cute" left his lips, Kismet lost his ability to float and plummeted to the ground at an incredible speed, as if he had been hit by a huge rock.

"Don't forget your pursuits," Ophelia said coldly, letting Kismet smash through the ground and into the trunk of a large tree.

Then, the blood-red face slowly turned towards the recliner where Clark had disappeared. "The power of dreams is indeed impressive, but the caster himself is also prone to becoming immersed in dreams. Perhaps that's why you ultimately failed. But since you're already dead, you might as well die cleanly and not come back to get in the way halfway through your journey."

The blood-red sphere suddenly exploded like a bomb, splattering blood droplets all over the room, and then spreading to the walls and tables and chairs.

Finally, the entire room turned blood red.

Clark's remnant soul, which had disappeared to an unknown location, reappeared.

"Ophelia, do you really have to do this?!"

The roar was tinged with a hint of despair.

Ophelia's voice came from all directions of the room.

"Although my power cannot be transferred, dreams always rely on consciousness. As long as there is no carrier of consciousness here, your dream will disappear forever."

As Ophelia's cold voice rang out, crimson blood gradually spread throughout the room.

Clark could no longer maintain his pride as a third-tier wizard and began to curse.

However, after the red color dyed the treehouse, the large trees outside, and the petrified people around it red.

Clark's cursing stopped abruptly.

Ophelia's presence then dissipated.

There was no other life around, only Kismet, who had been smashed into the soil beneath the roots of the big tree.

He was almost completely dry, skin and bones, like a skeleton.

Kismet managed to get up, then immediately leaned against a tree root, bent over, and gagged.

"Ugh... I feel so dizzy."
