Chapter 635 Foresight Leads to Immortality

Chapter 635 Foresight Leads to Immortality

A violent and chaotic magical power suddenly rose from beneath their feet, and a chill ran through the crowd who were discussing who had faked the eye of the storm.

"Clark!" Herbert immediately transformed into a firefly soaring into the sky, rushing out of the room and flying towards the basement that everyone had described.

Saul and Perle exchanged a glance, and the same thought popped into their minds.

"The person who faked the eye of the storm killed Clark."

"Now there's only one person who's not here." Thor strode up to Redbeard. "Lord Redbeard, how much do you know about the mummy wizards?"

The red-bearded man's throat bobbed. "We only know each other's code names. But I've worked with the blue-haired guy for a long time, so I know his public identity. As for the dried-up corpse... he's an Arbitrator transferred from another city, but he's completed several missions exceptionally well. He's very sensitive to pollution, so we invited him to come and investigate the eye of the storm."

The red-bearded man's eyes widened. "Oh no! Will Herbert be in danger going down alone?"

He wasn't really worried about Herbert, but he was afraid that if the Firefly Lord was also captured by the other side, wouldn't the rest of them be in even greater danger?

Just as he was thinking this, the fireflies had already flown back to the top of the tower.

Herbert's bald head reappeared, but his expression was several degrees more somber.

"Krak is dead, and his head has been taken away."

Herbert walked up to Pelle and demanded, "When you left, were you sure Clark was still alive?"

Pelle pointed directly at Lucy, "The young lady of the Stargate Council can testify for us."

Lucy was also shocked. She had just felt the surge of magic from the third-tier wizard and regretted not staying by Clark's side.

However, when Herbert actually brought back news of Clark's death, she was relieved that Kismet had taken her to the top of the tower, where she was with the other two third-tier members.

Otherwise, if someone could kill Clark in such a short time, wouldn't killing her take less than a blink of an eye?

"Yes, I can confirm that when Kismet and I left, Clark was still in a coma, but his condition had stabilized and he should wake up soon."

At this point, Lucy offered another guess, "Could it be the reason he lost his eyes?"

"Lost his eyes?" Herbert's expression changed again. He looked at Pelle. "Clark...lost his eyes?"

"It's more accurate to say he lost his sight," Pelle said coldly. "But he deserved it."

"The prophecy came true, but it's not quite right either; Clark shouldn't have died."

Herbert was more worried about something else: if Clark lost his sight, would he also turn into flames in the future?

That flame form was clearly not normal for him.

Moreover, he had once thought that the one falling into the starry sky was a fake wind demon. But now, the real wind demon has clearly returned, so who exactly does the giant bird in the prophecy refer to?

The situation at the eye of the storm was already unsettling, and then there was that clearly bleak future...

Herbert stormed up to the red-bearded man, finally dropping his usual politeness. "Before you arrived, did anyone else enter the old manor?"

Redbeard quickly shook his head.

Lucy added, "The Wind Demons have been waiting there since early morning. Their previous team was wiped out, and they had already sealed off the entire manor before we even got in."

“That means no one entered.” Herbert turned around, his gaze sweeping over everyone. “Unless the murderer was lying in ambush at the Old Manor months in advance, then he could only have entered the Old Manor with you.”

Redbeard quickly said, "Thorn's analysis suggests that person might be a mummy sorcerer."

Although he didn't want to involve the court personnel in this matter, finding the murderer was clearly more important at the moment.

Otherwise, they might all die here.

Herbert thought for a moment, then immediately asked Pelle, "How many people do you have outside?"

"The entire manor has been under lockdown," Pelle said with certainty.

"Then let's go out now and seal off the entire manor. We must trap him here no matter what."

Herbert had clearly lost interest in faking the eye of the storm and just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

The group entered full of confidence, but left with their own thoughts.

With Pelle's identity now semi-public, she returned Anne to Saul.

She then went with Herbert to inquire with the men who had sealed off the manor whether anyone else had left the manor before them.

Thor watched from afar, while several of Pelle's men shook their heads, clearly having found nothing.

However, he was skeptical that these first- and second-tier wizards could detect the people who had escaped from the manor.

Moreover, Saul believed that Herbert's eagerness to come out was probably not entirely to keep the murderer locked up in the manor.

He probably also believes that the murderer has already left, and that he is doing these things now just to give an explanation to the Tribunal and the Stargate Council, so that he can go back and find a way to change his future.

"Master, I missed you so much!" Ann, still inside the body of the maid Pei'er, rushed over and hugged Thor.

When the others saw that Pelle's maids were throwing themselves at Saul, they immediately looked at him with new respect.

Lucy frowned, thinking to herself that Saul was Pearl's lover, and that he even had a relationship with Pearl's maid.

As expected, the No Man's Land is much more chaotic than the Stargate Council.

She turned her head and saw Kismet standing beside her, and suddenly realized that her previous understanding of the world and people might have been too narrow.

It would be better to go out more often in the future.

Redbeard had no interest in other people's lives or hobbies. The three of them were entrusted with an important mission, but one died and one went missing. The missing one was also very likely the traitor of this mission.

He still had to think about how to report back and shift the blame.

Brando and Thor exchanged a glance and left the old manor first.

Thor waited for Pelle for a while.

About half an hour later, Pei'er walked over angrily.

"The bodies of the blue-haired man and the dwarf wizard have appeared, broken into hundreds of pieces, but the mummified corpse has not appeared. It can be basically concluded that he is the mole who faked the eye of the storm and killed Clark."

"The mummy wizard should have already escaped," Thor said to Pelle. "Killing Clark was too much of a commotion; anyone with a brain knows they should leave. Otherwise, he'll only be surrounded and killed by all of us."

Pell nodded. "Herbert also thinks the other party may have already escaped. But he's still stubborn and insists that I send someone to guard the Old Manor. I only have one second-tier wizard left to command."

Saul, however, smiled and advised her, "Since the enemy is most likely no longer at the old manor, it's not bad to stay here. You can just pass the task of going out to track down the mummified corpse to Herbert."

Pei'er's eyes lit up, and all her previous annoyance vanished. "Okay, I'll go over there then. This matter will probably drag on for a long time, you should go back first."

She whispered to Thor, "After all, Clark invaded your dreams. Go back and get your body checked out properly, so there are no hidden dangers."

Watching Pei'er walk away, Thor led An back.

He brought a lot of medicine with him this time, and also brought all the consciousness entities with him.

But the old manor was not quite what he had imagined; many things were not used.

Instead, after being captured by Clark and confirming that Clark was trying to invade his dream, Thor sent all his consciousnesses back into the diary to avoid being discovered by Clark.

Although Clark is now dead, Thor has not released the others just in case.

He flew back to Lake Rhine with An, and as soon as they landed outside the mushroom forest, they saw Marsh rushing out of the forest with a "you're finally back" expression on his face.

"Could someone have broken into the tower after I left?" Thor's heart tightened, and he immediately landed.

"What's wrong, Marsh?"

"Tower Master, that...that Tower Master, no, the former Tower Master, no, the original Tower Master, has arrived!"
