Chapter 624 Detachment and Madness
Chapter 624 Detachment and Madness
"This manor may have two spaces."
In a cramped storage room, Lucy held up two fingers to the only wizard remaining beside her.
Brando nodded with a solemn expression.
"Yes, I think so too, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to search the entire manor without finding any trace of Saul and that lady."
Brando told Lucy about what he saw when he entered the manor and that only Thor was not there.
Outside, an unknown number of shadowy monsters lurk. Only by sharing information can we cooperate and resolve the immediate crisis as soon as possible.
"If that's the case, then that little girl is the root cause of our loss of power and our entry into the manor. Perhaps finding that little girl will allow us to regain our magic."
Brando pressed his ear against the door of the storage room to listen for any sounds. He hadn't done this in a long time, and had almost forgotten how to twist his neck to turn his head to the side.
"Or we need to think of another way. We all lost consciousness before we entered here, and we still can't connect with our spiritual bodies. Maybe we're in some other world of consciousness."
Brando thought of Thor's consciousness space.
That place he only stayed for a few seconds before fleeing in fear.
"If you become completely addicted, it's very difficult to wake up," Brando said, scratching his head.
His mental strength was already outstanding among second-tier wizards, but he still couldn't find the flaws in this world.
"This place is protected by the rules of no man's land, and we can't break through the restrictions with our own strength." Lucy admitted that it was quite dangerous, but her expression remained calm.
"There are highly corrosive shadows outside right now, do you have any other ideas?" Brando was even considering whether to knock himself unconscious.
Suddenly, Lucy knelt down, clenched her fists, and gently rested them on her chin.
"The wrath of thunder shakes the world, the sword of law cuts down evil. I, Lucy Kinglight, beg for your favor, Lord of Thunder, Alec. Please unleash your power and dispel the illusions before me with lightning."
Brando watched in stunned silence.
"Aren't you a wizard?"
Why would a wizard make such a praying gesture?
Lucy slowly raised her eyes and lowered her arms.
Brando noticed tiny golden lightning bolts suddenly appearing in Lucy's eyes.
"You...you've regained your magic?"
If that would restore his magic, Brando wouldn't mind praying to Alec, the chairman of the Stargate Council!
Lucy saw Brando's expression and immediately knew what he was thinking.
Since birth, she has seen far too many envious looks like that.
Of course, Brando's desire was more naked.
"When power reaches a certain level, it becomes a god in the eyes of fools. However, my prayers are not quite the same as the prayers of believers."
Lucy slowly stood up. "This power can't be used carelessly. Overuse will make me lose myself and become my great-grandfather's puppet."
"A puppet?" Brando exclaimed in shock.
Then he noticed another word, and his jaw nearly dropped: "Grandfather?"
Lucy was just as used to the shocked expressions on other people's faces when they first learned of her identity, and she spread her hands out expressionlessly.
"Crackling and popping..."
A dazzling burst of lightning instantly filled the entire storage room.
Everything was completely covered by white light.
A few seconds later, Brando rubbed his eyes and barely regained his vision.
However, Miss Lucy was no longer in the small storage room.
He opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.
"Wait, why did she leave on her own? With such a powerful sound effect, couldn't she have taken one more person with her?"
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The flashes of lightning were so loud that they startled the devil who was lurking outside the door.
The wooden room door was immediately smashed loudly!
White, pungent smoke gradually seeped from the crack in the door, as if something outside was corroding the walls and door panels.
Brando was speechless. He looked around and finally pulled out an iron rake used for sweeping fallen leaves from a large bucket next to him.
"As expected, none of them are reliable!"
……
Lucy opened her eyes and found herself back outside the dimly lit manor.
The once magnificent foyer, from which faint music could be heard, was now so quiet that one could almost hear the dust settling.
She looked around and was surprised to find that only Redbeard, Brando, and the short wizard Durut were outside the manor.
The blue-haired wizard, the mummy wizard, and that wretched Kismet have all awakened and left!
"When did they get back?"
Lucy was annoyed that she wasn't the first to return.
But she just bit her lip, not letting the frustration continue to control her.
She raised her hand and released several arcs of electricity.
"My magic and mental power have returned." Lucy looked at Brando beside her and raised her hand to strike him in the chest with a bolt of lightning.
However, Brando did not react at all and remained standing motionless in the corridor.
"Splash!"
A scattering sound came from behind her, and Lucy immediately turned around to her astonishment to see the short wizard scattered into hundreds and thousands of pieces, falling to the ground.
"Splash!"
There was another sound.
Turning back, Lucy saw that Brando's arm had also turned into pieces and fallen to the ground.
Even a second-tier wizard could not survive if reduced to such fragments.
"It seems that although I just left the old manor without magic, the commotion I caused has put Brando in a difficult situation."
"We must wake him up!"
Lucy still had her own principles. Brando had just saved her, so naturally she wouldn't let him die in the illusion.
However, the other party's body did not react to the lightning at all.
Lucy hesitated for half a second, then suddenly raised her hand and pressed it on Brando's head.
"If you still can't wake up after this, then I have no other choice."
With a "bang," Brando fell backward, a small patch of charred skin appearing on his forehead.
However, his body was halfway backward when he suddenly stopped, and then he used his waist to support himself and stood up again.
"Ah! Thank you, Miss Lucy, you are truly kind and beautiful!"
Brando looked down and saw his shattered arm, but he didn't care. He moved his only remaining right hand, and immense power immediately gathered between his muscles and bones according to his will.
"Very well, now we can have some fun with the manor owner." Brando grinned maliciously, as if he were the demon who was about to invade the manor.
Lucy, who was observing Brando's situation, suddenly felt a twisted force coming from inside the manor.
That power seemed to be teasing the magic within her, making her blood boil. A violent and chaotic mind quietly grew, and an extremely strong destructive urge made her chest heave.
Across from Lucy, Brando was unaware that his smile was gradually turning into a sinister grin.
"Let's go." Brando's eyes were bloodshot. "Let's kill all the enemies inside!"
Lucy did not respond to Brando immediately; golden arcs of electricity flashed in her eyes once more.
The slight sting brought her back to her senses.
"Calm down, Brando. Your mind has been corrupted and affected. You cannot willingly fall into the abyss."
Brando's momentum faltered halfway through his charge, and he gasped for breath as he looked at Lucy, who was also struggling to stay rational.
"I think... I think this place isn't exactly a good place either."
"Boom—" A window on the second floor suddenly shattered, and at the same time a figure flew out from inside, landing heavily on the open ground in front of the manor.
Lucy and Brando turned their heads at the same time and saw a person whose face was smashed and sunken into his skull, lying on the ground, dead beyond any doubt.
Only his blue hair, stained with red and white dye, barely revealed his identity as a corpse to the two of them!
Turning back, Kismet's figure appeared in front of the broken window.
His long silver hair and fair face were splattered with blood, but he didn't care about the dirt on his face. He was smiling as he leaned against the broken glass shards.
