Chapter 567 The Judged

Chapter 567 The Judged

The big fish was caught by the "fishhook".

Thor waved his hand, signaling Little Algae to take it to the laboratory on the first basement level, while he picked up the mushroom chair and headed towards the lake.

"Long time no see, Gaga Drum." He greeted the old acquaintance first, then looked at the new second-tier wizard, "Hello."

"Hello." The second-tier wizard opposite him actually nodded in return, "Wizard Thor."

Thor secretly observed the unfamiliar second-tier wizard. His wizard robes looked more elaborate and solemn, not quite like the local clothing style of the Stadt Continent.

Gaga quickly introduced Thor, "Wizard Thor, this is a second-tier wizard, Lord Justin. He's here to see you, uh... uh..."

Jiajia hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

Justin picked up where Gaja left off and stated his purpose directly, "I would like to ask you to treat my injuries and contamination."

"I have some research on pollution removal, but you are, after all, a second-tier wizard, and my methods may not meet your needs."

"Also, I'm not very good at healing injuries. I think since you're a second-tier wizard, you should be more skilled in healing magic than I am."

Having not opened for business for six months, Saul was eager to keep this new patient.

Just make sure to state your capabilities in advance, and don't let the other party have too high expectations, lest the business turn into hostility.

"I've already heard about your abilities from Jiajia Gu, but my situation is indeed special."

Justin paused halfway through his sentence and glanced at the Gaja drum.

"Haha, you two sirs, please speak first. I'll go find Butler Hope to hand over the goods." Gaja Gu was very sensible and left on his own, leaving Saul and Justin alone.

After Gaja left, Justin slowly removed his metal mask.

This person's face was actually concave!

The bridge of his nose, which should have been high, was even deeper than his eye sockets. It looked as if the entire bridge of his nose had been shaved off, and then a hammer blow had been delivered to the wound.

In the deepest part of the nose's indentation, there were several yellowish-green marks.

"I come from the continent of Neflet and entered the No Man's Land five years ago. To be precise, I escaped here."

Justin's voice was flat, his eyes expressionless, as if he were recounting someone else's experience.

"I am a wanted criminal for whom a removal order has been issued by the tribunal."

Saul had heard of the tribunal, but the removal order…

He thought of the wizard Jassim, who killed two wizards with a black blade and then committed suicide.

The other party was from the tribunal.

Seeing the change in Saul's eyes, Justin knew that the other man had heard of the Tribunal.

"You don't need to worry about angering the Tribunal by treating me. They won't enter the No Man's Land, which is why I risked coming here."

Jassim's words contained a great deal of information.

The tribunal will not enter no man's land.

Why?

There are no barriers or checkpoints here, and even wizard apprentices and ordinary people can come and go freely—as long as they don't encounter any deadly dangers.

It seems this place is called No Man's Land not just because of its pollution and terrible rules, but there must be other reasons as well.

Justin paused for a moment, giving Saul ample time to think, before continuing to speak.

"I was wounded by the Arbitrators of the Tribunal during my escape. My solidified metal armor was almost destroyed. After I entered the No Man's Land, the wound was further corroded by the pollution here."

Over the past few years, I've tried everything to treat my injuries and control the pollution, but my body has quickly reached its limit. If there's no other solution, I'm afraid I won't live more than a year.

Whether it was due to his personality or despair, Justin remained calm when talking about his impending death.

This made Saul admire his magnanimity.

Few people can remain so calm when they feel death slowly approaching.

"Wizard Thor, your reputation has spread throughout this area, but to be honest, not many people dare to come to you for treatment."

Thor stroked his chin and readily admitted, "Indeed."

"Cleansing up pollution means exposing your weaknesses to others. Ordinary people won't come looking for you."

"That's right." Thor nodded.

However, his position as a doctor was merely a cover; if too many people sought him out, it would become a problem.

"But I'm different. I've tried almost everything I could, and the rest are either too dangerous or simply impossible. That's why I came to you. This is probably my last attempt."

Saul didn't make any promises. "Could I see your injuries and the extent of the contamination first?"

"Sure, but I'll need to take some precautions," Justin said frankly.

Saul agreed.

Then, Justin silently chanted a spell, and a pool of shimmering golden liquid metal appeared beneath his feet.

The liquid spread outwards from beneath their feet, forming an equilateral triangle, and then grew diagonally upwards from each side, eventually forming a closed regular tetrahedron.

Thor observed the magical fluctuations Justin made while casting his spells from beginning to end.

He noticed that the other party's spellcasting technique was very solid and steady, but there was a hint of tremor and unease hidden in his magical fluctuations, as worrying as an anthill in a dam.

Saul then went over to check Justin's injuries, but Justin suddenly turned around and sat down on the ground.

Then, he slowly lifted the scalp at the back of his head.

A screeching sound, like tearing tape, rang out.

Saul tried to remain calm and appear more professional.

Justin's scalp skin was a voodoo-treated prosthetic. His entire head, from the back of his head to his neck, was made of metal.

It wasn't Klee's metallic skin, but rather real, hard, cold metal.

However, this metal, which should have been smooth and shiny, was covered with a thick layer of yellowish-green impurities.

It has an irregular shape and a rough surface.

Saul pulled out a glass rod and gently swept it across the surface, and saw some small fragments fall down.

He quickly caught it in a petri dish.

"If you don't mind, may I conduct some simple tests on these first?"

"Of course." Justin raised his hand, his fingernails transforming into sharp, metallic knives, and he took matters into his own hands, shaving off a piece of the impurity-laden metal surface from Thor.

Thor noticed that the metal back of the other person's head was still metal, and he wondered if there was still traditional flesh and blood present.

These newly exposed metallic layers are smooth and bright, but after a few seconds of exposure to air, they begin to develop a dull color and quickly turn into a familiar yellowish-green.

The surface also began to become rough.

Thor compared the petri dish with the newly grown substance on the other person's head, and they looked to be the same thing.

"It looks like the metal has rusted," Thor said.

Justin put his scalp back on, then stood up, still with his back to Saul.

"Yes, I specialize in metal magic. Your description of rusting is quite apt. I'm rusting rapidly, constantly, and repeatedly right now. And this phenomenon has spread from my nose to my entire head."

Only when his back was to Saul did Justin's eyes reveal a hint of vulnerability.

But when he turned around, that hint of vulnerability in his eyes was completely concealed.

Saul stopped staring at Justin.

He has already begun to study the properties of the substances in the petri dish.

He had already realized that this seemingly calm and composed wizard was actually very proud inside.

Although he could bravely reveal his most physical vulnerability, he refused to show even a hint of psychological vulnerability.

In that case, Saul naturally had to politely decline.
