Chapter 487 The Upside-Down City

Thor finally understood where he was imprisoned.

He once thought that there was a person hiding in the sheets he was holding on the floor when he pulled off the sheets and found nothing on the bed.

But he never expected that he himself was hiding there.

Through the white sheets, Thor could see a black shadow coiling around him, about to tighten.

"Penny!" Thor called again.

"Sol...brother..."

Penny's voice still seemed as distant as the horizon, but the moment Thor heard it, it vanished as the black, menacing tentacles tore through the sheets.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw that he was still lying in bed. Beneath him were smooth sheets and a mattress that was just the right firmness.

Thor could still recall the feeling of his heart racing just moments before.

"Was I dreaming?" He clutched his chest. "At first, I remembered that I was a wizard, but when I was moved under the sheets, I seemed to forget that. Whether I was struggling underwater, having my face covered by the sheets, or curled up inside them, I didn't think of using witchcraft to solve the problem."

"Besides calling for Penny, I had completely forgotten all other means of self-defense."

Thor's expression darkened slightly.

He didn't know what his dream meant, or whether someone had tampered with it.

Then he suddenly felt that the surroundings were too quiet.

Saul unfolded the diary in front of him and turned to the page containing the only entry still in Herman's diary.

Thor saw no one else in the room and wondered why his room was upside down.

He slowly walked to the window and looked outside.

Below the building, it was pitch black.

When Thor looked down, something seemed to be growing and moving silently in the darkness.

Thor leaned his upper body out of the window, holding onto the window frame with one hand, and carefully looked up.

Above his head, where the sky should have been, had become a vast expanse of earth burning with pale flames.

Gravity seemed to be normal on the ground. Flames rose upwards. The land was cracked and barren, with only pale flames burning fiercely, fueled by an unknown fuel.

At the boundary between the white flames and the earth, one can occasionally see some charred remnants.

That must be the remains after it was completely burned. It's impossible to tell what the remains originally looked like.

"Master, waaaah, are you alright?" Ann, with a deathly pale face, threw herself into Thor's chest.

Outside of the diary, the consciousnesses always moved using the corpse of the wizard tower as a vessel. Because the vessel was inanimate, they could not control their bodies as freely as ordinary people.

In particular, they rarely show various facial expressions.

But this time, An's eyes were brimming with tears. Ignoring her abnormal skin color, she looked exactly like an ordinary young girl.

Saul helped Anne sit up by her shoulder, only to find himself still lying in bed.
