Saul grabbed John's head and ran back. He needed to meet up with Julie first and figure out what those tree roots were.

Why would the diary remind him that "not a single thing" could be taken away?

This time, it took Julie two seconds to realize that Saul was rejecting him.

"Why?" Julie asked, puzzled.

Although wizards are mostly eccentric, their superior status and lack of constraints mean they rarely refuse pleasure, especially among wizards, where it is incomparable to that of maids or noble ladies.

Saul shrugged. "Actually, I also have a bit of paranoia, especially when it comes to strangers."

After saying that, Saul abandoned Julie and continued walking back.
