Chapter 455 Whose Luck

Chapter 455 Whose Luck

Thor recognized the sorcerous black knife as coming from Jassim—the second-tier wizard who had almost ruined Thor's pursuit of Gudo.

He immediately took a half step back, placing himself in the shadows of the hall.

The battle in the courtyard was far from over. The first servant to run out suddenly cried out in alarm, and then his entire body was split in two.

After the body fell, the internal organs slowly oozed out of the wound, leaving a mess on the ground.

The wizard Caron, who had just been split in two, had already reassembled himself perfectly.

After recovering, he immediately set up seven or eight layers of magical shields and magical items with defensive properties around his body.

Lord McKen, who had some experience, immediately realized what was happening upon seeing this scene.

His longtime friend was not a second-level wizard apprentice at all!

He had originally intended to go out and check the situation, but he ran back to the depths of the hall in a flash, looking as if he would never go out again.

Seeing this, Thor thought, "Well, okay, I won't laugh at someone else's mistake."

At that moment, the sharp cry of Wizard Karon rang out from outside, "Lord Jassim, I'm about to advance to the second-tier wizard level! Please grant me some more time!"

A cold voice came from the sky.

"A time limit is a time limit, and there is no room for delay or questioning, especially since you have been on the run for 43 years and 122 days."

Accompanying the cold, merciless reply were the repeated falls of black blades.

Each time the blade falls, it cleaves through the layer of defensive magic or artifacts that the wizard Karon has prepared with all his might.

"You know I've been on the run for so many years and nothing's happened to me, right? Please give me some more time; I'm sure I'll get promoted this time!"

This time, however, there was no cold reply; instead, an even more powerful black blade cleaved through all of Karon's defenses.

Caron had no chance of winning against the second-tier opponent. He raised his hands one last time and said, "I have a broken wine glass in my hand. If you grant me 10 years, I will give you the wine glass immediately."

The aerial attack seemed to pause for a moment.

Wizard Carlo immediately looked around. "Don't worry, as long as everyone here is killed, no one will know that the wine cup ended up in your hands. And since I'm being hunted down by the Tribunal, I can't possibly tell anyone."

Upon hearing this, the officials and servants, whether in the courtyard or the hall, were terrified. The bolder ones tried to run away.

Thor didn't move, but he secretly became wary.

But the next second, the black giant blade fell again, severing the man's arms.

Caron screamed, and then Thor felt a dark figure rushing towards him.

His mental energy surged, and with a flick of his abusive touch, he directly pulled back the attacking shadow.

The dark figure suddenly retreated onto Kalon, who screamed again.

Just then, Jassim's second attack came, and Karon had no way to avoid it.

The damage he suffered could not be transferred, and he had already discovered that Thor was also a formal wizard, so he knew that he had no chance of escaping.

"I know now, the whole thing at Blue Water Bay was caused by you! The broken wine glass..."

Kalon gritted his teeth, and suddenly his soul left his body.

His body exploded in an instant.

The explosion did not produce any flames, but instead created a cloud of mist, like a smoke bomb.

Then, dozens of soul entities emerged from the mist.

Each one was so indistinct that their identities were impossible to discern, which was somewhat similar to the escape technique that Gu Duo used on the ship last time.

But Jassim, who had already witnessed similar tactics, was not fooled again.

He rubbed his hands together, and the black blade shattered into hundreds of pieces, which he then slashed at all the spirits fleeing from the mist.

After the shards pierced the fleeing spirits, most of them turned into powder.

But a dozen or so still screamed and fled in all directions.

On the way to escape, if they encounter ordinary people, they will not even avoid them, but will simply pass through them.

That unfortunate ordinary person would be frozen solid immediately, frozen in place.

The next second, the black blade would mercilessly pierce through the servant's body, continuing its pursuit of the fleeing soul.

So several more dead people appeared on the ground.

Almost no one in the banquet hall was killed or injured.

Because Thor was standing right at the door, he blocked both the approaching spirits and the black blade fragments that followed.

Thor could sense that the blade fragments were not as powerful as the complete blade; they seemed to be only used to distinguish which one was the real enemy.

While blocking the attack, he kept his eyes fixed on the cloud of mist in the courtyard.

He had discovered that Gudo had escaped by corroding the ship's deck, so could this Karon have done the same...?

Suddenly, a small mound appeared in the brickwork beneath Thor's feet, and a series of black shadows slipped into his robes.

Then, Thor sensed a vague message from the little algae that had secretly returned.

It's probably that kind of sly smile that involves twitching eyebrows.

"It's done!" Thor's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately cast a gentle breeze spell to disperse the mist in the middle of the courtyard.

Below the fog, the once flat land suddenly collapsed, revealing a black hole, from which a spirit jumped out.

Although the other's face was blurred, Thor was certain that this was Charon's true form.

The spirit glanced at Thor, sending chills down Thor's spine.

But this time Thor didn't look away; he stared directly at Caron.

The conversation between Karon and Jassim just now has shown that Karon is the owner of the broken glass.

In that case, to eliminate any future trouble, Thor will definitely trip him up again when he is in dire straits, so that he dies completely.

Just as Kalon's true form appeared, the black blade fragments that had followed the other spirits attacked the center from all directions in an instant, and the same number of blade fragments were also shot out from the sky and the ground.

It seems that Jassim was prepared and was not fooled by Karon's disguise.

"Swish swish swish swish swish swish!"

Thor seemed to hear the beautiful sound of rain pattering on banana leaves. He squinted slightly, looking at Karon's spirit body, which was full of holes, like a sieve.

A large amount of energy dissipated outwards, and Kalon's spirit quickly lost its human form.

Thor stepped out of the hall and finally saw Jassim flying in mid-air.

The other person remained expressionless, seemingly unmoved by the promise of the broken glass from Caron, and only focused on killing him.

"It seems he's not as strong as Instructor Gorsa was at the second tier."

After all, Instructor Gorsa eliminated enemies too quickly; they were gone in the blink of an eye.

Just as Jassim was about to unleash his final blow, his movements suddenly stopped.

He abruptly raised his left hand and glanced down at his wrist.

Caron, who had been limp and waiting to be annihilated, suddenly let out a loud, howling laugh.

"Ahaha, hahahaha, ahahahaha..."

"Your time has run out! Hahaha, you're still chasing me? I think you should just kill yourself first—"

His voice abruptly stopped.

A massive black blade fell from the sky, severing Kalon's already collapsing spirit body in one strike.

The struck spirit immediately deflated like a punctured balloon and quickly turned into a small puddle of black mucus.

But at this moment, Thor was no longer concerned about Karon's fate. He stared intently at Jassim, suddenly very curious about what the time limit was.

Jassim dealt with Karon and turned to look at Thor. His face was a few shades paler than before, but a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, much gentler than when they last met.

"We meet again, Gorza's apprentice. Thank you for pinpointing Kalon's exact location, which saved me some time."

"You're welcome, Lord Jassim." Thor flashed his signature obedient smile.

"Judging from your attack just now, are you primarily skilled in dark attributes?"

"Yes, Lord Jassim," Thor continued to smile.

"That's just your luck; you've run into me several times."

Thor's smile froze; those words sounded strange.

Jassim suddenly reached out and inserted his right index finger into the back of his head.

"My possessions belong to the Tribunal and cannot be given to others, but my knowledge can." He slowly withdrew his index finger, pulling out a small, writhing black snake from its tip, and then tossed it to Thor.

Thor was startled and was about to intercept it when he saw the little snake twist its body and swiftly burrow into his forehead.

The little snake actually entered Thor's mind directly. Just as it was about to unleash its power, it suddenly saw the diary floating above its head. It immediately trembled, became listless, and curled up in the air, no longer daring to move.

The diary entry contained no warning, indicating that the snake was at least not fatal.

Thor looked away and turned to Jassim, his eyes now filled with hostility.

Regardless of whether the little snake was part of Qasim's knowledge, the other party's actions were far too domineering!

However, when Jassim saw that Thor was still standing there unharmed, seemingly unaffected, he paused for a second before laughing, "As expected of Gorza's apprentice, your talent is extraordinary, and your mental strength is quite powerful. Perhaps this isn't your luck, but my luck."

After saying that, he didn't explain anything further. He raised his hand, recalled the black giant blade, and plunged it into his own brow.

"Snapped!"

The body fell high into the air, landing right next to the puddle of slime that Karon had left behind.

Finally back to noon
