Chapter 365 The White House

Chapter 365 The White House

Monroe's mental state is not quite right.

Thor blinked, but didn't point that out.

Mark, standing to the side, also didn't react much.

It was only after hearing the two mention it that Saul remembered that they had been in this godforsaken place for more than half a year, or even longer, and wondered how they had managed to meet their basic needs such as food.

Thor himself was fine. He had learned from Kongsa's plea for help that they were trapped here, and he had packed a lot of food in his compressed pack before coming.

However, the existing stock is definitely not enough for him to eat for another six months.

"Where's Kongsa?" Saul asked.

Mark shook his head, a hint of worry on his face. "Kongsha was the one who initiated this adventure, and also the most reckless one. She even went into the Dead Season and was seriously injured before she came back."

"Could the valley's exit be inside the Dead Season?" Thor asked.

"Impossible, absolutely impossible!" Monroe reacted strongly, his face filled with resistance. "If the exit is inside the Dead Season, I'd rather stay here forever!"

Mark sighed as well. "The deeper you go into the Dead Season, the more terrifying it becomes. You'll see when you get there. The Dead Season isn't far from here."

A gust of wind blew, and the ankle-high grass on the ground was pressed down. When it got up again, it had already turned from green to yellow.

"Autumn is here!" Munro exclaimed happily. "Let's go find something to eat!"

"I'm going to find something to eat too," Mark said, barely able to contain himself. "Thor, you can wander around on your own. There might be some cryptocrystalline material hidden in these houses. Remember, the places where the ground turns black are the Dead Season. Just don't go that way."

Mark gave a word of advice and tried to run away, but Saul grabbed him.

"Is it possible to encounter spirits in the fall? What do spirits look like? Besides running away, are there any other ways to deal with spirits?"

Mark struggled for a moment but couldn't break free, so he turned back helplessly and said quickly, "You can't see what they look like. If something strange attacks you, it's definitely an elf. If you don't want to use magic, just run. Once you're out of their sight, just find a house and hide inside. That's why we're staying in this habitat."

Mark's eyes were red, like a lone wolf that hadn't eaten for days.

Thor released his grip, and the other person vanished in a flash behind a white wooden house.

With no one else around, An Cai whispered, "He was so calm just now, but suddenly he looks like a starving ghost."

Morton had a guess: "Perhaps because autumn is very short-lived, they need to take the opportunity to prepare enough food."

Agu suggested, "Master, although you have prepared food, we can also go and gather some food, just in case."

Thor nodded and assigned tasks to the four of them.

Herman followed Mark's trail to find food, while Agu and An, whose mental abilities were more acute, went off to find the Hidden Crystal, and Morton stayed by Thor's side.

"Don't go too far. If you find the Hidden Crystal, call me immediately. Your physical senses are dulled, so you can't carry the Hidden Crystal."

An and Agu nodded.

Agu said, "Understood. Once we discover the cryptocrystalline substance, we'll keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't disappear."

The group split up and acted separately.

Thor, along with Morton, decided to start their search from the houses on the outskirts.

Although this place may have already been searched, Thor is confident in his strong mental abilities and may discover what others have missed.

This white wooden house is the habitat of the elves, and also the place where Mark and his companions discovered the Hidden Crystal.

Approaching the white wooden house, Thor didn't rush inside. He first walked around outside and found that the house he had chosen had a rather strange exterior structure.

It has one door and four windows.

Two windows and a door are on the same wall, two other windows are on the left and right side walls, and there are no windows on the back wall.

The door wasn't big; Thor had to duck to get through.

The window was even smaller, but the head was large, like a vent.

There were no doorknobs, no door locks; it seemed the elves didn't need to lock the doors.

Thor bowed as he entered, while Morton had to bend over to walk in.

The ceiling height of the house is less than two meters, making it feel somewhat oppressive inside.

At first glance, apart from a few straw mats, there was no other furniture or decoration.

"Do elves live such a simple life?"

Thor's hand transformed into the shape of an octopus tentacle—this had almost become his instinct and did not cause any tremors in his spiritual body.

He observed with his eyes, ran his tentacles over every inch of the land, and analyzed the habits of the elves in his mind.

Although he was initially somewhat resistant to knowledge about elves, well... he was already here.

Unfortunately, he and Morton searched the first room but found nothing.

So they went to the second adjacent house.

The second house has one door and six windows.

All four windows are on the same wall as the door, and the other two are on the left and right walls.

Before entering, Thor paused and looked around. "Morton, don't you think this house looks a bit like a human head?"

"Very similar," Morton agreed, "and very ugly."

Thor chuckled.

Indeed, if someone looked like that, they would be very ugly.

The house was a bit larger, but Thor still didn't find anything inside.

"Should we call Penny back?" Thor hesitated for a moment, but then dismissed the idea. "Penny hasn't come back on her own, so she must have something to do. Finding the cryptocrystalline isn't the most important thing right now."

Currently, aside from using cryptocrystalline material as a resource to replenish Penny's energy, Thor doesn't have any particular need for it.

The two walked out of the house, pondering whether to continue searching for cryptocrystalline material or to check on Mark and Monroe's situation first.

"The other two probably didn't find cryptocrystalline material either."

If Ann and Agu find any clues, they will definitely inform Saul.

However, as Saul emerged from the white wooden house with its six windows, he saw two women walking around from behind the house in front of him.

Thor was in a daze for a moment before hesitantly asking, "Konsha?"

The woman walking ahead also saw Thor, and a smile appeared on her red lips.

"Oh, you really came."

Even in her loose wizard robes, Kongsa's slender figure was still subtly revealed as she walked.

Judging from the magical fluctuations emanating from her, she was still a second-level apprentice, but her complexion was much better than it had been in the wizard tower.

It was as if being trapped in the Elf Valley was torture for others, but enjoyable for her.

In contrast, the female apprentice who followed closely behind her was much less impressive, as if she wished she could shrink completely into her wizard robes.

"When you invited me, you didn't say I was there to save the day." Thor turned his gaze back to Kongsa's face.

Kong Sha blinked, her smile mischievous. "But you still came. I was afraid that if I really asked you to save my life, you wouldn't have come."

Kongsha pointed to the female apprentice behind her, "Let me introduce you, this is Cassilo, she just advanced to level three after coming in."

Thor had actually noticed Casillas long ago.

She followed Kongsha timidly, not daring to look at Saul. She only raised her head briefly when Kongsha introduced herself, but Saul only caught a glimpse of her face behind her bangs before immediately lowering his head again.

Through her torn hair, Saul could still see her pale, trembling lips.

This person is actually a third-level apprentice whose strength has surpassed that of Kong Sha?

Why does he seem more like her follower... or rather, her prisoner?
