Chapter 352 You call this a birthday present?

That familiar font!

That familiar tone!

"Claire? Could it be that she's already finished her research on the radioactive toxin and returned?" Thor smiled, then gasped through his teeth, "Hiss, it seems like I haven't contacted her for three months."

Thor turned to look at Hayden, who had carefully stood still after preparing the potion.

"You... never mind, just pack up the experimental materials and continue to rest."

So I originally planned to have Hayden organize the experimental notes, but I was afraid that he would overlook some inconspicuous but crucial experimental details, so I decided to do it myself.

After assigning Hayden his task, he quickly turned around and strode toward the bronze gate.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw Keli stepping back half a step.

"Why did you open the door so suddenly?" Claire stared at Thor with her deadpan eyes. "Have you grown taller?"

"About ten centimeters." Thor smirked.

Claire was the only one who noticed the change in his height as soon as they met.

Of course, this may also be why she found herself needing to look up to Thor.

"Actually, I've been growing taller ever since I completed my second body transformation, it's just become more and more obvious recently." Thor gestured with his hand to show the top of Claire's head. Originally, Claire was only slightly shorter than him, but now she only reached the tip of his nose.

Keli rolled her eyes in response.

Thor was also observing the changes in her. Since becoming a second-level apprentice, he and Claire had seen each other very little. Each time they reunited, both of them had changed significantly.

And now, Claire's transformation is astonishing. Her long red hair has completely turned blonde. Not the common blonde with blue eyes, but the kind of blonde that resembles brass or high-purity gold coins.

Her hair was no longer braided for easy movement, but instead left loose.

The ends of the hair become harder, as if a string of steel needles were attached to the bottom of a normal person's hair.

The metallic sheen on Claire's skin had completely faded; it was unclear whether she had hidden it or transferred it to her hair.

"Have you completed the development of the radioactive toxin?"

"Of course!" Claire looked at Thor with a "does that even need asking?" look.

"Congratulations on finally being able to return to the tower!" Thor's congratulations weren't entirely sincere.

Compared to the increasingly unpredictable situation at the Wizarding Tower, Thor preferred that Clare return to Blackhold to conduct her research alone. Clare was the kind of person who devoted herself entirely to experiments, and aside from occasionally discussing knowledge with Thor and going out to gather materials when necessary, she almost never participated in any other gatherings.

Therefore, Keli's progress is evident to all.

Thor could sense a strong metallic aura emanating from her.

The opponent is probably not far from reaching level three.

Upon hearing Thor's congratulations, Claire turned her eyes to the left, avoiding his gaze.

"No, not exactly. I still have some finishing touches to complete."

Thor was taken aback. "Have you encountered some difficulties?"

He assumed that Klee had returned to the tower to ask him or someone else for help.

"Idiot!" Claire was speechless. Suddenly, she pulled something out of her pocket and held it up in front of Thor. "It's your birthday today! As usual, I've come to give you a present."

Thor was startled. He ignored the dangling necklace-like object in front of him and looked at Claire.

"I'd forgotten... Claire, you don't actually like me, do you?"

Thor regretted asking the question as soon as he did. It was so blunt, like something a naive kid would ask. It was not something a grown man like him should ask.

Claire's lips twitched, and she changed the direction of the necklace in her hand, slamming it down on Thor's head with a thud.

"I think you've lost your mind!" She shook the necklace in her hand again, gesturing for Thor to take it quickly.

Thor was a little embarrassed, so he quickly took the necklace and looked down to examine it carefully in order to quickly divert his attention.

The necklace chain is a thin silver chain, and the pendant is a transparent glass ball about the size of a thumb.

The glass sphere was engraved with magical arrays in dark patterns. Thor recognized it at a glance as a sealing array. After being specially modified by Ke Li, he couldn't tell which type of external force this seal was targeting.

Inside the glass sphere is sealed a silvery-white, metallic-like substance. Its surface is uneven, and its overall shape is an irregular cube.

When Thor held the pendant up to his eyes, he vaguely felt that the metallic-like substance was emitting a dark blue light.

"What is it? A witchcraft prop you made?"

"This is my latest radioactive toxin, and I'm giving you the first piece." Keli withdrew her hand, crossed her arms, and raised her eyebrows triumphantly.

"Oh?" Thor was quite interested in Claire's radioactive toxin. He hadn't expected her to actually research it and even give him the first piece. "It looks amazing from its external properties. Is there an antidote? I'd like to study it too."

"It's still under development."

Keli continued to speak with unwavering confidence, her chin tilting upwards at an unyielding angle.

This time it was Thor's turn to twitch his lips. "The 'finishing work' you're talking about isn't just researching an antidote, is it?"

Keli nodded and turned her eyes to the other side.

"By the way, be careful when you collect it, the toxicity is quite strong."

"Yeah, I see now, you've given me a bomb!"

Thor actually wanted to ask, "You call this a birthday present?", but he didn't dare to ask, knowing he would only get a glare from Claire.

"By the way, I haven't named this toxin yet. Since the inspiration came from your suggestion, you can name it." Claire shrugged.

Zosol twirled the pendant in his palm. He didn't want to study the radioactive toxins inside now; he wanted to check how secure the outer seal was.

"Shall I name it?" Thor's mind flashed with familiar knowledge. "Then let's call it Alpha."

"Ah... Alpha? Why did you come up with such a tongue-twisting name?" Claire corrected her tongue before repeating the name completely.

"Oh, yes, a little bit, then..." Thor was about to change his mind when Claire hurriedly interrupted him.

"Fine, Alfa it is then, this is its fate."

Seeing Thor put the necklace away with some trepidation, Claire's lips curled into a smile.

"Alright, I actually came back to consult with Master Gudo, and also to see you. Now I'm leaving."

Without saying goodbye, Keli turned and ran, her hair billowing in the air in a fan shape.

Halfway through the race, she suddenly braked, turned her head again, and said earnestly to Saul, "Remember to get me a birthday present, nothing too cheap!"

Without waiting for Thor's reply, she ran into the dark corridor.

"This guy!" Thor didn't know what to say next.

However, before he could turn around and step into the bronze gate...

Another series of light footsteps came from the dark corridor.

It wasn't Claire's footsteps!

Thor turned around instantly, his eyes suddenly turning icy cold.

"Who?"

The sound came from the middle of the corridor; someone had been quietly lurking in the darkness while he and Claire were talking.

Neither he nor Keli noticed!

The newcomer slowly walked out of the misty darkness and stepped into the area illuminated by candlelight, revealing his true form.

Thor's gaze shifted from cold to questioning.

"Um..." Byron's eyes hesitated, unsure where to look, and the gaping hole in his throat, which served as his mouth, opened and closed with difficulty. "I... didn't mean to eavesdrop."
