Chapter 334 Too Much Curiosity

Chapter 334 Too Much Curiosity

Hayden's second personality is adventurous, somewhat impatient, but extremely proactive. Before Thor could speak, she sat down in the electric chair and attached connection patches to her body.

Saul did not object. He went over to help Hayden set up the instruments, and once everything was ready, he began to take out the control panel and start recording.

"Don't move now, stay relaxed, I'm going to record the initial data."

Hayden was very cooperative.

Five minutes later.

"Okay, now let's start with fine motor skills, such as stretching and flexing your fingers and toes."

Hayden obediently did as he was told, but he added many gestures to himself. For example, he smiled at Saul and stuck out his tongue to sweep across his lips.

However, Saul did not respond at all to this rather suggestive gesture, nor did he pause his pen for even a moment.

"Alright, next is to break free. Try to break free from the sealing array behind you."

Hayden's second personality cooperated with Thor in conducting a series of experiments.

Saul discovers that this second personality is braver, or rather, crazier, than the primary personality.

She could cooperate with some very painful experiments, even those that sounded terrifying, without batting an eye.

Especially when it came to breaking free from the experiment, Hayden was incredibly ruthless to himself. Even though he was in excruciating pain, he still used all his strength to break free from the golden magic circle binding the container.

In the end, it was Thor who stopped the experiment for her.

For three consecutive days, the second personality cooperated with Thor until the fourth day when Hayden's main personality finally emerged.

Thor breathed a slight sigh of relief, because Hayden's second personality was also quite daring in some ways.

Despite the almost unconditional cooperation of two Haydens, Thor was still not entirely satisfied with the current progress of the experiment.

No matter how much you measure the changes in Hayden's spirit and the container, her spirit has already been fixed in a container by Mentor Rum's magic circle.

Thor's strength is insufficient to break the binding spell array that a senior first-tier wizard has been working on for many years and constantly improving.

"It would be best to use a flexible consciousness like Herman's, which can come and go, for the experiment."

One afternoon, Thor crossed his arms and reviewed the results of his experiments over the past few days, pondering how to make a breakthrough next.

"What I want to record is the common problem of rejection reaction when spirits enter different containers. Unfortunately, Professor Rum and his colleagues did not have a diary to address the problem of contamination that spirits suffer from in the outside world, so they did not allow spirits that had already entered the container to be transferred again, in order to avoid contamination during the process and loss of the experimental subjects."

Saul can understand the mentors' choices.

He still hasn't figured out why Herman's consciousness, during its second transfer and entry into the female vessel, suddenly uttered the phrase "Kill me," which he hadn't heard in a long time.

Could it be that he accidentally disturbed a powerful soul within the wizard tower when he possessed someone?

Thor never found the source of the phrase "Kill me," and no one even mentioned it during Gorza's resurrection experiment.

But he had a vague feeling that this sentence... might be related to Mrs. Yura.

In this resurrection experiment, the people who have the least say are actually the ones who are resurrected.

Thor had been staring intently at Herman's experimental records for a long time when a silver butterfly fluttered in from afar.

After the newborn Penny transformed into a silver butterfly, she gained a small degree of freedom with Thor's permission.

It would sometimes perch on Thor's left shoulder, sometimes fly around him, and occasionally wander around the second warehouse.

She seemed to have lost all her abilities and could only hover around Thor like a mascot.

Nevertheless, Saul warned Penny not to stray too far from him, and even more so, not to enter other people's dreams.

Penny always agreed without hesitation.

Saul didn't make her swear any oaths; he simply told her that if she broke the rule even once, she would be stuck between the pages of a book forever.

Penny was terrified of being locked back in her diary, and each time she would swear in a voice like a little girl.

Now that she'd had her fill of wandering, she was ready to return to Thor's left shoulder to rest.

Just as she was less than a meter away from Thor, a dark shadow suddenly flew out from behind Thor's neck, its jagged, shark-like teeth wide open, and its black tongue twitching like a snake's tail.

The hunter, who had been lying in ambush, launched a deadly attack on the unsuspecting prey.

"Snap!"

"Ugh!!!! You disgusting little algae!"

The Nightmare Butterfly was swallowed whole by the little algae, and then it emerged from the top of its head, swirling in the air as if trying to shake off non-existent saliva.

Xiao Zao, having successfully launched a sneak attack, stuck out her tongue at Penny.

It seems that Penny's arrival made Xiaozhao aware of the danger, and she would always launch a surprise attack when the butterflies returned.

Even though the algae never manages to touch the butterfly, it never gives up.

As for Penny… Thor looked on with suspicion. This seemingly naive girl was just teasing Little Algae every time.

She just wanted to embarrass herself, lower her profile, and quickly integrate into Saul's little group.

Looking at his little algae, who was so smug that it was shaking its head, Thor could only rub his forehead speechlessly.

"Fine, as long as Penny doesn't intend to do anything bad to Xiaozao, let them do what they want. Anyway, there are six members in the diary's consciousness system now, including them."

"Maybe I'll have to adapt to a more lively atmosphere in the future."

Penny dodged the algae and landed on Thor's notebook.

Her antennae twitched, as if she were actually reading.

But the next second, she expressed her dissatisfaction with Saul's experiment!

"Brother Thor, Brother Thor, why aren't you continuing your research on the Battlefield of Consciousness? Why are you studying corpses here? Corpses aren't fun at all; they don't dream."

Thor suddenly stood up, knocking over the stool behind him, which fell to the ground with a thud.

Before Xiaozao could shrink back, she was startled by the sound and turned her head in surprise, sticking out her little black tongue, not knowing what had happened.

Thor's face was cold, his eyes fixed on the butterfly. "I've never said that word to you before. Where did you hear about the Battlefield of Consciousness?"

Penny seemed startled too; she flew half a circle in the air before landing.

"I did observe you, and I glimpsed some history back then. Although I didn't remember most of it, I still managed to capture some fragments."

Thor sneered inwardly.

He suspected from the beginning that the Nightmare Butterfly had not actually lost all her abilities as she claimed.

In the diary, the Nightmare Butterfly takes the form of a bookmark, not a book page.

In contrast to book pages, bookmarks are actually something that can exist independently.

Since it's not a book page, whether or not Saul will answer the truth when asked questions cannot be determined based on the experience with the black book page.

But the initiative is still in Saul's hands. With just a thought, he can make the diary immediately take Penny back and crush her into a thin pancake!

As for why Penny lied and pretended to be useless in the first place... it's probably because she had just been imprisoned by the diary and became Saul's property, so she was used to acting cautiously.

As for now...

Xiao Zao rolled up the stool and put it back in its place. Thor slowly sat down, resting his chin on his hand. "Since you still remember some things, tell me what you remember? Why did you suddenly hatch? Why did you observe my history?"

...After realizing that Thor was not a cruel person, he decided to slowly reveal himself in order to increase his own importance and status.

The nightmare butterfly stood quietly on the paper, looking harmless.

It sighed, "Alas, it's all because we Nightmare Butterflies are too curious; we've already turned ourselves into an endangered species!"
