Chapter 307 Manual
Chapter 307 Manual
But Saul quickly dismissed this conjecture himself.
If Kukin took over the Second Warehouse three days after Thor left, Thor had not yet been marked with the Lost Soul Flower.
He hadn't even arrived in Mofan Town yet, so the plan to plant the mark on him hadn't even begun.
The appearance of Kukin should not be related to the Mark.
Rum and Anze issued missions within three days of each other. Could there be some connection between them? Was Kugin taking over the warehouse work for another purpose?
Although he thought it unlikely that Kukin was the maintainer of the mark, Saul still made the diary send out the flattened, weakened mark just to confirm.
The mark did not react.
"That's true. The mark maintainer needs to be able to contact me frequently, and Kugin obviously doesn't meet that requirement."
Kujin had no idea that Thor had been thinking about so many things the moment he received the manual and imprinted his mental energy on it.
He glanced around with a slight sense of loss after letting go, then took the initiative to say goodbye to Saul and left the second warehouse.
After Kugin left, Thor, out of caution, checked the mark again, but there was still no change.
Without further delay, he immediately used a communication pen to notify the tower master that he had returned and requested the tower master to come over in person.
"Now, it's up to the tower master to deal with this mark."
Thor finally breathed a sigh of relief after writing the last word.
The tower master should arrive soon after seeing the message, but he may also have other things to do and need to postpone it for a while.
Saul believed that this time he would not let Mrs. Yora do it for him.
Thor remained tense while waiting. Wanting to find something to do, he picked up the warehouse manual that Kugin had just handed over and began to review the storage conditions of the warehouse supplies during his absence.
As Kugin said, the first senior to take over Saul's job received two assignments as soon as he took over the warehouse.
Thor carefully examined the task requirements and found that they weren't some very important materials—at least none of them were numbered.
However, the deadlines set by the professors were quite tight, so that senior student must have been in a lot of scrambling for a while.
Given his subsequent strong request to change jobs, Saul guessed that Rum or Anze's mentor had also "reprimanded" him.
"Looking at it this way, it seems more like they were deliberately trying to get rid of them."
Saul turned to the next page.
Kujin took over the warehouse work. For the next period of time, several mentors continued to assign tasks.
In short, it was much busier when Bitsol was around.
Sometimes jobs just like to take advantage of newcomers; the more inexperienced you are, the more likely you are to encounter difficult problems.
Kujin received four missions during the two weeks he spent in the second warehouse.
Two mentors: Anze; one mentor: Monica; and another mentor: Kaz.
"Mentor Katz?" Thor turned to the next page of the manual. "Ah, Mentor Katz's is here for the warehouse handover."
"The item being handed over is... Nick's body..."
A dark glint flashed in Thor's eyes, but his expression remained unchanged.
He continued reading.
"Because the body has just been disposed of, it is currently still stored in the stone coffin... to allow it to air out."
Saul closed the manual and got up to inspect the sarcophagus.
"Letting the smell out" is a metaphor, just like Saul's earlier use of "guest" to refer to the corpse.
It means short-term isolation and observation to see if any other abnormalities occur.
Now that Saul has handed over his work, he naturally needs to inspect this dangerous item.
Just as he stood up, a hand suddenly landed on his shoulder.
Just as Thor was about to break free, he caught a glimpse of the pink bandage wrapped around the hand and immediately stopped his instinctive struggle.
The next second, everything went black, and Thor passed through a dark interlayer filled with eyes, instantly finding himself in an unfamiliar room.
The room was so dark, so very dark, that he momentarily thought the spatial travel hadn't stopped.
There are no candles like those found everywhere in the Wizard's Tower here.
Not a single one.
Thor could only barely observe the room he was in through semi-immersive meditation.
"This is the top floor of the Wizard's Tower." Gorsa released Thor and took two steps back.
The room seemed so narrow that Gorsa only took two steps back before his back pressed against the wall.
"Please sit wherever you like."
After Thor looked around, he realized that the room was unusually small.
It is no more than one meter wide and a little over two meters long.
It's called a room, but it can only fit a single bed.
Now, there is no bed in the room, not even a chair. There is only a soft carpet on the floor.
It looks more like a coffin.
If Thor really does "sit anywhere" as Gorza says, then he can only sit on the ground.
Then he should just stand there.
Gorsa seemed to be just making a casual, polite remark; Thor didn't sit down, nor did he say anything.
"Your spiritual body appears unusually stable; has it already integrated with the locator?"
Thor was somewhat surprised, but he nodded honestly, "Yes, Tower Master, you could tell?"
Gorsa didn't explain how he figured it out. He just stared at Thor for a while, then said with some emotion, "You've already integrated the locator into your spiritual body after just entering level three... You've already surpassed the most difficult step for a level three apprentice to become a full-fledged wizard."
"Just as I thought!" Thor thought to himself. "The hardest step for me during my apprenticeship was actually turning the diary into my own locator, but once I got past that, I'd almost reached the level of a regular, fully-fledged wizard in terms of locators!"
"After reaching level three, you still came to me for help. It seems the enemy you encountered this time was quite troublesome. Tell me about your experiences in Mosailtown and Blacksburg."
Thor licked his dry lips and slowly recounted his experiences over the past month.
On the way back, he had already thought about what he should and shouldn't say, so his narration now felt very natural.
Gorza listened quietly, his emotions unreadable in the darkness.
But Thor's intuition told him that the other party remained calm, as if the Nightmare Butterfly's death at Kismet's hands, his own ambush at Blackburg, and his suspicions about the people of the Duchy of Kema were not major issues.
Gorsa only moved his neck for a moment when he felt something was wrong with his spiritual body after hearing about the battle between Thor and Cadis.
After Thor finished speaking, the dark room returned to silence, and the tower master opposite remained motionless, as if he had turned into a statue.
Just then, Thor heard a scraping sound coming from the other side. He squinted and looked over, and saw Gorsa slowly sitting down on the ground against the wall.
He personally demonstrated to Saul what it meant to sit anywhere.
Gorsa seemed relaxed in the darkness, but Thor sensed something amiss about him.
"Master Tower... are you alright?"
"It's nothing, I was just thinking about what's been going through you. Trouble and accidents always seem to follow you around."
A soft laugh came from the other side, but in the darkness, Thor couldn't see the other person's expression at all.
"Could it be that the Tower Master brought me here just to prevent me from observing his condition?" Thor lowered his eyelids.
Gorsa continued, "Kismet will soon be forced to leave the western continent, so you don't need to worry about that. As for the people who ambushed you outside Blackburg, they are most likely traveling by land-based boats. They shouldn't attack you without a reason; that wouldn't be worth it."
He asked Thor about the unusual sensations he felt within the spirit body.
"Do you still feel there's anything wrong with the spirit body?"
As Thor kept an eye on the dying mark within his mind, he frowned and tried to recall, "I feel almost nothing bad now; maybe it was just my imagination back then."
"Then let me see," Gorsa said, but he didn't stand up.
As Thor was wondering, he suddenly vaguely saw something rushing towards him from the opposite side.
But Gorza remained seated.
