Chapter 294 Verification Attack

Chapter 294 Verification Attack

Thor leaped out of the woods, landing smoothly on the small algae, and once again lashed out two black tentacles at Cadis.

The latter retaliated with the same powerful yellow bullet, then instead of retreating, he advanced, as if he were about to engage Thor in hand-to-hand combat. At the same time, the butter in one of his palms disappeared, revealing the seed he was holding in his hand.

Upon seeing the seeds, Thor suddenly froze, then turned and ran, only managing to launch two black tentacles at Cadis to cover his retreat.

Kadis was also taken aback; he hadn't expected Thor to be wary of the seed in his hand.

"Could he have recognized me? How is that possible?"

The seeds of the Soul-Losing Flower are a top secret of the Land-based Ark. If Kedis hadn't taken on this mission, he wouldn't have been qualified to know what the seeds look like and what their function is.

"He's probably being overly cautious, but it doesn't matter. Now that he's seen the seed, there's no way he can escape!"

"No matter how extraordinary your methods, they're utterly useless against the Soul-Stealing Flower!"

With a sinister grin, Cadis crushed the seed in his palm, then released yellow projectiles with his other hand, shattering the oncoming black tentacles in a few blows.

A tender green sprout emerged from Kedis's palm, while a yellowish-brown root burrowed into his flesh.

Just as Cadis was about to witness the power of the Soul-Losing Flower, he suddenly noticed out of the corner of his eye that something grayish seemed to have appeared again in the black tentacle that he had shattered.

Having successfully thwarted the opponent's escape plan, Cadis kept charging forward, only noticing the semi-transparent shadow in the air before it was too late to stop.

He gritted his teeth, fired another yellow bullet with one hand, and held up a tender sprout in the palm of his other hand to block it. He refused to believe that the opponent's hidden trump card could defend against both physical and spiritual attacks at the same time!

However, the next second, something happened that made Cadis's eyes widen in disbelief.

The grayish-white shadow emerging from the shattered black tentacles completely ignored the attack of the yellow bullet, allowing it to pass through the non-physical shadow and continue its attack on Cadis.

Cadis could only raise his right hand to meet the attack.

He recognized that Thor's attack was also a spiritual attack, but a spiritual attack from a near-third-level apprentice could not possibly defeat the treasure of the land-based ship!

However, the translucent gray shadow that was about to collide with the tender bud of the Soul-Stealing Flower suddenly made a sharp turn, bypassing Cadis's right hand and grabbing at his wrist.

Kadis hadn't expected Thor's spirit attacks to be so agile.

Although spirit attacks are mostly driven by mental power, once the energy leaves the wizard's physical body, it becomes very difficult to manipulate flexibly. It is even more difficult to adjust than physical attacks.

This is all because a wizard's apprentice's mental energy cannot leave their body. They can only probe for magic or the mental energy of others through the feedback of fluctuations in their mental energy.

However, Thor was able to control the spirit that was already ten meters away from his body to change direction in an emergency!

This is beyond the scope of what a normal wizard apprentice can do.

Kadis gritted his teeth and refused to back down. One wrong step could lead to another, and he had to make up for his previous mistakes before the other party could escape. Therefore, he risked being injured in the arm by the other party's spiritual attack in order to send out the Soul-Losing Flower.

At the last moment, he moved his wrist so that his palm was aimed at the gray-white shadow, seemingly wanting to reach out and grab it rashly, but in reality, he wanted to let the tender sprout in his palm come into contact with the other party's magic and spiritual power.

"I have to complete the marking. Even if I get injured, I can just lie there and watch that kid get ravaged by the Soul-Stealing Flower!" Kadis's lips twitched into a smile.

The next moment, a grayish-white shadow landed on Cadis's wrist.

The green sprout in his palm also came into contact with Thor's spiritual attack.

Kadis braced himself, bracing for pain, but when he looked at his arm, he froze.

"What...what am I seeing?"

A series of questions swirled in his mind.

To Cadis's astonishment, he saw his arm being pulled out of his arm by that grayish-white shadow.

This sentence is a bit hard to understand, but it's exactly what it says.

He clearly saw a semi-transparent arm being wrapped by the gray shadow, pulling out his own arm, which was still fully clothed!

In an instant, Cadis finally understood.

This is a part of his soul, which was directly ripped out of his body!

"Horror!!!" Katie was instantly terrified, her face turning deathly pale.

He had seen witchcraft that directly attacked spirits before, but he had never seen witchcraft that directly pulled a person's soul out!

He's no ordinary person; his mental state is extremely stable!

Then, he saw the grayish-white shadow coil and tug again, pulling most of his soul's arm out. Only then did Cadis realize that what was wrapped around his soul's arm was actually an octopus tentacle.

He followed the tentacle and was astonished to find that the translucent grayish-white tentacle was extending from Thor's sleeve, while the hand that had been there was nowhere to be seen.

Another violent tearing motion shook Cadis, his mind began to blur, and the Thor in his vision went from one to two, then back to one, swaying and refusing to return to his original position.

Although he had never had a similar experience before, Cadis knew that this was a sign that his soul was about to be pulled out of his body.

His eyes darted frantically to the corners of his eyes. Now, he could only hope that the Soul-Stealing Flower would work. Even if he couldn't control the other party, he could at least stop Thor's next attack!

But what Cadis didn't know was that the Soul Flower was already working very hard to attack Thor!

The moment Thor was touched by the Soul-Losing Flower, he felt an unknown mark appear in his mind.

But before he could figure out what the mark meant, the diary that was quietly floating in his mind suddenly unfolded, moved instantly above the mark, and then snapped shut.

It suddenly reminded me of swatting mosquitoes with a book...

Thor was stunned for only a moment before continuing his attack on Cadis's spirit. His hand transformed into octopus tentacles, launching a surprise attack on Cadis and successfully entangling her soul.

Once this step is complete, the next step is as simple as pulling a radish.

"I must say, this guy truly lives up to his reputation as a Level 3 apprentice." Thor exerted force again, noticing the other's dazed expression. "If he were a Level 2 apprentice, I could have ripped his soul out with this one strike. But against a Level 3 apprentice, I actually used…"

Thor's temple throbbed with bulging veins. He swung his arm again and finally saw a transparent shadow completely detach from the other's body, flying rapidly toward Thor along the force of the tentacles.

The other person's body, which remained in place, trembled and then collapsed to the ground.

"...It took four attempts, four attempts, to pull his soul out."

As the other's soul flew over, half shocked and half bewildered, Thor raised his other hand, clenched his fist in the air, and pinched an open, dark red diary with three fingers, holding it up to his eyes.

The next second, the flying spirit had no ability to resist and transformed into a black shadow, flying into the diary.

Saul stopped, flipped through the diary, pinched it with his thumb, and the pages inside began to rustle, finally stopping in front of a brand new black page.

"Excellent, the first verification attack on the consciousness platform has yielded satisfactory experimental results."

Saul chuckled and slammed the diary shut.
