Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 291 Infiltration

Chapter 291 Infiltration

Thor didn't know if his guess was correct.

Logically speaking, the Principality of Kema and the Wizard Tower are allies, so they shouldn't be plotting against Thor.

But sometimes the relationships between allies can be more complicated than one can imagine.

Saul packed up his important belongings, but did not clean the entire laboratory thoroughly.

He deliberately left traces of his use, then sat quietly at the lab table as if studying witchcraft.

But before he sat down, he casually touched the wall, leaving a small, inconspicuous crack.

From day to night.

Blackburg does not have the habit of keeping candles lit from morning to night like the Wizard's Tower.

In fact, to save lamp oil, or simply for convenience, not many lighting devices were prepared here.

As night falls, the Blackburg huts, true to their name, are completely dark. The silhouettes cast by the moonlight are faintly reflected on the treetops, making the civilians below occasionally think they are seeing things.

In the same pitch-black warehouse, a grayish-white hemisphere suddenly emerged from the bottom of a huge wooden crate that had not been completely dismantled.

The sturdy wooden box posed no obstacle to it. It gradually lengthened and stretched, revealing a pair of eyes in its hemispherical shape.

It turns out that this was not a ball, but a hairless head.

Its pupils are extremely small, and the whites of its eyes occupy most of the eyeball, their color almost blending in with its skin.

At first glance, it seems as if the only part of its head is its two black bean-like pupils.

It slowly emerged from the gap at the bottom of the box, revealing its nose, mouth, and chin, followed by its long neck.

It's always been my neck.

It has no body.

Its tiny pupils swayed from side to side, observing the entire room in the darkness.

Then it set its sights on the door.

Its neck continued to stretch, pushing its bald head toward the warehouse door.

The door gap was narrow, but it couldn't stop people's heads from squeezing through.

They left the warehouse easily, looking around.

The warehouse was at the far end of the first floor of Blackburg, where a looping corridor came into view.

The head looked around, then opened its mouth wide, and a grayish-white tongue, the same color as its skin, emerged from its toothless lips.

The tongue was very thin, but the tip was a round ball. After leaving the lips, the tongue swelled up and enlarged. Especially the tip of the tongue, which was the size of a human head.

The tip suddenly split open with two slits, revealing a pair of eyes with extremely small pupils.

Then, a third slit appeared at the tip, below the eye, resembling a mouth.

The mouth was also wide open, and a long, thin tongue with a rounded tip extended out. After the tongue emerged from the mouth, it also grew eyes and a mouth.

Then, the first head sprouted a second tongue, followed by a third, a fourth...

Each tongue grows eyes and a mouth, and then another tongue extends from the mouth.

Countless heads split off and began to advance into the depths of the corridor.

They stretched along the ground and walls, their tiny black pupils trembling slightly with excitement, yet they made no sound.

Soon, these heads filled the entire corridor and gradually reached the front hall on the first floor.

The lobby, devoid of guests, was dimly lit. The ornate chandeliers and exquisite wallpaper seemed to take on a different theme under the dim moonlight.

The first head arrived at the front hall and began to explore, but it suddenly found itself unable to move forward.

Its pupils trembled as it turned to the corner of its eye, and it saw a black vine already wrapped around it.

"Devil... ghost... vine..."

With a wide grin, he finally uttered his first word.

Then, ignoring the entanglement of the vines, it simply stuck out its tongue again and released the next human head.

Thus, none of the heads that were entangled by the devil's vine resisted, allowing the vine to hold them firmly in place.

But before the devil vine could seal their mouths, they released another tongue and continued to explore the entire Black Fortress.

The devil vine, which did not resist, probably mistook these strange long-necked human heads for snakes, insects, and rodents that had sneaked into the forest, and did not warn its temporary owner.

In the laboratory on the third floor of Blacksburg, Thor was writing furiously.

Suddenly, he paused for a moment. "Has it encountered an unauthorized intrusion, yet no warning has been issued?"

He turned his head and whispered, "The enemy came prepared, and they broke Blackburg's most sensitive detection method in one move. So Blackburg's other defensive capabilities may not be reliable either."

If Thor's control over the Devil Vine hadn't far exceeded the temporary master's perception, he probably wouldn't have even noticed when someone came knocking on his door.

But now...

"If I fight my way out, can I defeat the enemy lurking in the shadows?"

The diary in my mind slowly unfolded.

[May 5th, 316th year of the lunar calendar]

An intrusive visitor knocks on your door.

The passionate owner wanted to keep him forever.

The guest presented a bouquet of flowers.

The host cooked fresh seafood.

After a back-and-forth exchange...

You ask your guests to stay forever.

Unfortunately,

That's why you missed out on the second customer.

Upon seeing the contents of the diary, Saul paused for a moment.

He had just deliberately shared his strategy for dealing with the enemy with the diary, hoping it would help him determine whether he would face a life-threatening crisis.

When the diary first appeared, he thought he was no match for the newcomer and might die at their hands.

This prediction was truly unexpected for him. After all, Thor believed that someone who needed to ambush him couldn't possibly be a formal wizard, and he was no longer afraid of ordinary third-level apprentices.

But he was even more surprised when he saw that the diary entries did not end in death.

As the diary states, he did indeed defeat the enemy. But this also means that the diary's warning this time is no longer limited to death!

He only managed to subdue the first guest, and intimidated the second one, causing him to dare not enter.

"The diary's alerts have been upgraded? It won't only issue warnings in life-or-death situations anymore?"

To prove his point, Saul immediately changed his approach.

"What if I hide?"

A few more lines appeared in the diary.

It's still not a death warning.

"As expected..." Thor smiled. "This is the first warning since the diary became a locator, which is why I only just realized that the way the warning is triggered has changed."

As Saul's connection with the diary deepens, the diary also provides Saul with more feedback.

"If I follow the habit of keeping a diary, the fact that I missed the second guest will probably have a negative impact on me in the future, so I still need to find a way to find him."

"Thump, thump, thump!"

Just then, there was a knock on the laboratory door.

Thor glanced at the door; there seemed to be some shadow moving and trembling slightly through the crack.

"An uninvited guest has arrived."

Saul smiled slightly, ignoring the knocking at the door in the dead of night. He turned his head, raised his left hand to pull the hood of his cloak over his head, and continued writing.

"Swish, swish, swish..."

The room was extremely quiet, with only the sound of pen nib scratching against paper.

Outside the door, the visitor gently knocked on the door with his forehead. Every three knocks, he would pause for a moment, grinning as he waited for the homeowner to open the door.

Around the door, on the floor, walls, and ceiling, there are dozens of heads that look exactly like the visitors, all pressed against the door crack with expectant expressions.

They pushed and shoved each other, crowding around the crack in the door. Their large, white-bodied eyes strained to peer into the room, and through the gap, they could vaguely make out a figure with his back to them, completely shrouded in a cloak.

Their eyes twitched incessantly, filled with intense excitement as they waited.

Waiting for the homeowners to open the door for them.

Sorry, I've been going to the hospital these past two days and I really didn't have any drafts saved up, so I can only post this now. I'll try to get back to normal time tomorrow.
