Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 25 Doing business has led to the morgue.

Chapter 25 Doing business has led to the morgue.

It's 1 p.m. of a new day.

Senior first-class apprentice Hayden silently walked into the second morgue.

He glanced at the teleportation platform; the candlelight on it was dim.

I still have no work today.

This is a good thing.

He has been dealing with corpses for three years.

The job itself was nauseating to him, and it was also so boring it was nauseating.

But he couldn't not do it; if he didn't take this job, he wouldn't know how to pass the monthly tests.

The number of first-level apprentices who entered the Wizard Tower with him is dwindling.

A few successfully advanced to level two, a few failed the test, a few failed in their studies, and a few, like him, persevered silently.

So, despite being incredibly tired of the job, Hayden couldn't give it up.

Hayden had no work today, so he walked to the table against the wall and casually flipped through a book.

But he quickly closed the book again.

He had read these books many times, but they wouldn't help him advance to level two.

"Actually, thinking about it this way, not being promoted to level two isn't so bad." Hayden glanced at the next room. "The work of handling the first step of corpse processing is already being done by level two apprentices. If I didn't have this job, I'd probably be like the other level two apprentices, worrying about whether I'd pass the test every six months, right?"

With this in mind, Hayden lost all interest in reading.

He walked to the conveyor belt and suddenly wanted to lie down on it to try it out.

But just as he put one leg on the teleportation platform, there was a knock on the door.

He was startled and almost grabbed at nothing.

Who would come to this place at this time?

Could it be that newcomer from yesterday?

Hayden raised his chin and swaggered to the door.

Who is it?

"I am a second-level apprentice, from West Germany."

Hayden’s chin and shoulders immediately shrank together.

He quickly opened the door and saw the impatient blond youth through the crack.

The scarlet door opened a crack, and Hayden quickly crawled out.

"Senior, you wanted to see me?"

Along with Hayden, the stench of the morgue also wafted out.

West Germany frowned and took two steps back.

Seeing this, Hayden quickly turned around and closed the door.

"I heard a new person has taken over the job at the morgue?"

"Yes, a loud and boisterous little boy."

"How did he do?"

"This... I haven't seen it yet, but it should be alright, right?"

West Germany sneered, "How well can a newcomer do? Besides, my junior colleague also wants to do this job."

"Huh?" Hayden looked up in surprise.

"Could you find a way to free up this job for him?"

"Make room?" Hayden hesitated, withdrawing his hand and glancing around. "But the work in the morgue is all assigned by Instructor Katz."

"When this job becomes available, I will naturally let my junior try to get it." Sid rubbed his fingers together, his fingertips slightly deformed, and fine white powder fell out.

"Then, should I go and try to persuade that newcomer?" Hayden asked tentatively.

"Heh," Hisoka chuckled enigmatically, "If you do a good job, I'll give you a Midnight Feather."

"Ah!" Hayden straightened up completely, his eyes wide with disbelief. "I, I... I'll definitely make that kid..."

suddenly!

"Have you gone so far as to run a business in a morgue?"

A deep voice interrupted their conversation.

Hayden and Sid simultaneously looked into the depths of the corridor.

"Is that the second-level apprentice in charge of the morgue?" Sid squinted. "He's here so early? I'm afraid there'll be another bloodshed this time."

However, when the person who spoke emerged from the darkness, Sid's pupils contracted sharply.

Hayden, who was standing nearby, almost fell to the ground.

"Mentor, supervisor..."

Emerging from the depths of the corridor was not some second-level apprentice, but none other than the mentor, Kaz.

Sid felt a chill run down his spine as Katz stared at him, but remembering Katz's usual style, he forced himself to say, "Master Katz, we just..."

Katz raised his hand, interrupting Sid, "I don't care what you're doing."

Sid felt a sense of relief; he knew his mentor wouldn't care about his apprentice's affairs.

However, what Katz said next almost made Sid fall to the ground as well.

"Recently, many of the servants and apprentices in the tower have died. Go out and bring back a dozen or so promising talents from the outside world."

Sid's heart skipped a beat, and he tried to smooth things over, "Okay, Instructor Katz, after I finish my test next month, I'll..."

"Next month? This month! You need to leave tomorrow, no, before tonight!"

Kaz glared at them. He wasn't tall, and when he looked angry, the other two apprentices immediately felt as if they were being crushed into a crack in the rock by his imposing aura.

"Mentor Katz," Sid was no longer as arrogant as before, his forehead covered in cold sweat, "I have my test next month, and if I leave the tower now, I may not be able to get back in time."

Katz turned to West Germany and said unmoved, "You need to understand one thing."

"All the servants, maids, and apprentices in the Wizard's Tower are the property of the Tower Master, and you," Katz pointed his wrinkled index finger at Sid, "have caused losses to the Tower Master, so naturally you need to compensate him."

West Germany opened his mouth, but ultimately couldn't utter a single word.

A drop of sweat slid down his temple, fell to the ground, and shattered into several pieces.

……

Saul learned the following afternoon that West Germany had already left the tower.

The person who told him was still his mentor, Kaz.

"Senior West Germany?" Thor's face was somewhat pale.

His hand rested on the book he had just copied, his fingertips contracting, the pale yellow paper crumpling into a ball.

"But why...why would he want to hurt me?" Thor shook his head in confusion.

"You'll have to figure that out yourself." Katz took out a book and threw it on the table.

Thor looked down and saw a thin silk book.

The Corpse Transformation Guide.

This was the first time he had ever seen books made of this kind of cloth material.

"I see you, uh, have quite a talent. Take this book and take a look. You can ask me if you don't understand anything." Kaz glanced at Thor's reaction and turned to leave.

Saul picked up the book.

A non-textbook wizarding book costs at least two magic crystals a day, while a guide is worth far more than just knowledge.

Kaz's mentor essentially gave him a lot of magic crystals.

"My mentor is really kind of you," Thor said, chuckling softly.

He first put "The Corpse" aside, suppressed the smile on his lips, and carefully smoothed out the book he had just wrinkled.

"Hiss~"

A soft sound was heard, and Thor looked over.

The candles on the teleportation platform turned bright white.

Saul walked over and pulled the wrench down hard.

The black conveyor belt began to roll, and a fresh corpse covered in black leather emerged from under the tassels.

The deceased was a stranger, and died peacefully.

Thor lifted the black leather, and sure enough, the corpse was relatively intact.

This was the first time he had handled something independently.

Thor put himself into a semi-immersive meditative state.

Although the walking monster image was planted by West Germany with the intention of killing him, Thor surprisingly found it suitable for meditation.

Besides, since the hardcover book hasn't said anything, it can continue to be used!

Saul reached for the tools on the table behind him.

The corpse swayed gently, and in a daze, the person lying on the teleportation platform appeared to be West Germany.

Thor closed his eyes, trying to bring himself back to reality.

"I have a month now, but when West Germany returns, I'm afraid there will be an even fiercer counterattack."

Although the crisis was not completely resolved, it at least gave Thor a chance to catch his breath.

"It seems that as long as I'm still useful, I can get some protection. I still need to make myself more useful."

As Thor worked, he glanced at the "Corpse Transformation Guide" that Katz had given him.

Suddenly, he stopped what he was doing.

"Could there be any connection between corpse transmutation and witch body modification?"
