Chapter 248 Consciousness Platform Array
Chapter 248 Consciousness Platform Array
"Hehe, mistake." Thor chuckled and stepped forward, casting a minor healing spell to restore the door to its original state.
"Hmm." Byron stepped aside and invited Thor in.
His room was as messy as ever, and now Saul was showing signs of being affected by it.
However, their laboratory was very tidy, with items arranged in a specific order to avoid triggering a chain reaction.
"Senior, I want to buy the consciousness platform array that you set up for me in Chui Shou Valley."
"Can."
"How many credits, or magic crystals?"
Byron hesitated for a moment, seemingly calculating its value.
Thor didn't urge him and waited patiently.
After about five minutes, Byron said to Saul, "I don't want money. I want the method to expel the evil thoughts that Morton left in your body."
Thor paused for a moment.
"Could it be that Byron, the senior student, is also tormented by evil thoughts?"
"Did the Tower Master make a move?" Byron asked, frowning, when Thor didn't answer.
He was more afraid that it was really the Tower Master himself who personally helped Thor expel his evil thoughts, then he would have no way to find a way to expel evil thoughts from Thor.
Unlike Solko, he couldn't reach Gorsa.
"No, that's not it. But you probably can't use my method of dispelling evil thoughts."
Byron first relaxed his brow, then slowly furrowed it again.
"However, if you are being plagued by evil thoughts, I can help you get rid of them," Thor said with a smile.
Byron didn't hesitate this time. "Yes, deal!"
"The deal's done?"
Byron opened his mouth, pulled out a familiar little notebook, and quickly drew ten circles on one of the pages.
"One expulsion, one cut."
Thor gaped, "Senior, can your evil thoughts multiply on their own?"
Byron shook his head and led Saul to his desk.
"I'm conducting an experiment in order to become a full-fledged wizard."
"You already have a clue? What are the requirements for becoming a full-fledged wizard?"
Byron casually drew an extra half-circle in his notebook before answering, "Merge the locator with your spiritual body. This will mean that the locator will no longer be your weakness, but a part of you."
Thor didn't quite understand.
"Choosing a GPS locator is simply making it a part of me, isn't it?"
"When the locator first enters your body, it feels like a foreign object. It might even make you feel very uncomfortable, fearful, and unwilling to acknowledge it. Only when your mind and will completely accept the existence of the locator and recognize it as part of yourself can you break through the shackles and advance to the third-level apprentice level."
Byron completed the circle he had just drawn. "And for a third-level apprentice to advance to a full-fledged wizard, they must transform from a physical form into a spiritual form. The locator will appear within your spiritual body. It's like it's transformed from your clothes into your heart. This is difficult, and very easy to cause the apprentice to become alienated, so advancing to a full-fledged wizard... is very difficult."
Hearing this, Thor felt a chill run down his spine.
The physical locator is directly transformed into a mental one.
Even its form of existence has changed.
Is this really something a mere wizard apprentice could do?
But just as he thought of this, he suddenly froze.
"Wait, I... the locator I chose is the diary. It doesn't have a physical form." Thor subconsciously reached for his left shoulder, but halfway up, he naturally changed his hand to stroking his forehead.
Byron assumed Thor was intimidated by the difficulties and sighed softly, thinking to himself, "Thor doesn't even have a locator right now. If I were to explain the fusion and conversion of the locator to him, it's no wonder he'd be scared."
But what Byron didn't know was that Saul was indeed frightened, not by the difficulty of the future, but by a newly emerging idea.
"If I successfully turn the diary into my tracking device, then... wouldn't that be equivalent to immediately advancing to the third-level apprentice level?"
However, this is currently just a conjecture by Saul based on a few words from Byron, and it is still uncertain whether this will be the final result.
Byron did not disturb Saul's thinking. Instead, while Saul was thinking, he sat down at the table and pulled out a notebook from the neatly stacked stack.
"This is my handwritten copy; you can just take it."
Thor took the notebook, flipped through it, and found that the array diagram on the last few pages was exactly the one he had seen in the cave.
"Then I'll take it." Thor tucked the notebook into his pocket. "Do you need me to exorcise your evil thoughts now?"
Byron shook his head. "Not yet... my limit."
Thor blinked, suddenly realizing what Byron might be doing.
He wanted to use his evil intentions to "force" the locator into his mental body.
This is somewhat like someone who hones their skills through combat; if done well, they can improve very quickly, but if done poorly, they may die suddenly at any time.
It's about endlessly grappling with death in order to unleash one's full potential.
He was a little worried and couldn't help but advise, "Don't push yourself too hard."
Byron smiled faintly. "Hmm."
Thor thought for a moment, still feeling uneasy. "I want to understand the evil thoughts within you first, so that I don't have to come up with a solution when you can't hold on any longer."
Byron nodded, stood up and walked over to Saul.
Suddenly, he swelled up like a balloon.
But the scene before us is not as comical as it used to be.
It was shocking!
Byron's exposed face, neck, and arms were all swollen. And what filled his body was not air.
Almost every piece of skin was stretched into the shape of a human face.
These faces are like big fish that have been caught in a fishing net, each one desperately trying to find an exit and escape.
The key is that these faces can also sprint, but after being bound by Byron's strange skin for a while, they will retreat and then suddenly rush outward with force.
Several faces kept pushing outwards, trying to escape their restraints.
In this way, Byron looks like a constantly transforming demon.
Sometimes, the line between wizards and demons is truly very thin.
Thor took a deep breath to calm himself down.
He closed his eyes, then slightly opened them, and his mental energy began to circulate.
From this perspective, Saul saw the malice in Byron.
These evil thoughts were very powerful. There wasn't a single small fish or shrimp in them; they seemed to have been specially selected.
It was specifically designed to help Byron fuse the positioning system.
Saul recalled Byron's several trips to collect evil spirits; it turned out they were used here.
Byron's goal was always clear: to get promoted.
Thor emerged from his semi-immersive meditation, pondered for a moment, and said, "Senior, could I have some of your skin?"
Byron nodded with difficulty, and then the face on his body was squeezed back in, and he returned to his original appearance.
Then, to Saul's surprise, he put his hand in his mouth again.
Then, he pulled out a small piece of brown skin.
Saul took out the test tube he carried with him and accepted it, but couldn't help looking at Byron with suspicion.
"Is this your senior's skin?"
Byron nodded. "Hmm."
Saul glanced at Byron's equally pale skin, which was also deprived of sunlight for many years, and then at the small brown spot in the test tube...
Did Byron tear off the skin from one of his internal organs and give it to him?
