Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 198 Conditions
Thor glanced back at the basement entrance with some concern.
"Just in case, I can only stay here for half an hour at most. After that, whether I dig a tunnel or go out to find another way out, I can't let myself stay trapped in this place any longer."
If Victor wasn't an ordinary wizard apprentice, or even a wizard apprentice at all, then even Ralph, who had turned into a worm-faced creature, might not have been able to defeat him.
Thor's recent attempt to shift blame may ultimately harm someone else.
"Then you should be able to see something: I'm not a formal wizard, so how can I help your master escape? And why should I take this risk?"
As he spoke, Saul began rummaging through the small cubicle without any hesitation.
Saul wasn't fixated on freeing Ralph, but he had a vague feeling that Hunter, who was making a deal with him with just a head, must possess considerable wealth.
If we were to discuss what was most important to Thor in this manor, it would undoubtedly be the clues in the Death Wizard's Diary.
"I hope you can help me kill my master," Hunter said in a deep voice.
Thor was taken aback; it wasn't about saving someone. "Did Ralph turn you into this?"
“Yes,” Hunter said with a wry smile, “but I don’t resent my master. I just don’t want him to lose his dignity as a formal wizard. Although I am not a wizard, I have served wizards my whole life, so I know that my master’s current state is irreversible. I believe that if my master were still conscious, he would not be able to accept himself as he is now.”
"So you want to help him get rid of this? But I have to tell you, I'm no match for your master in his current state, and I won't do something like offering myself up for death."
"I understand, Wizard. No matter how good the offer, no one will agree to a mission that means certain death. Please come to me; there's a bottle on the back of my head."
Upon hearing this, Thor turned to his left shoulder, casually patted off non-existent dust, glanced at the knight Olaf not far away, and then walked toward the butler's head.
While the two were talking, Olaf stood five meters away from them, still standing with his sword drawn, loyally guarding them even in his ghost form.
Saul walked over and saw the butler Hunter's head placed on a large plate. There was some light red liquid in the plate, but only a thin layer remained, barely covering his fingers.
"Hant is still able to think and act, probably because of this liquid."
Although Saul was interested in the composition of the liquid, now was not a good time to conduct experiments.
The little algae stretched out from the back of Thor's neck, groped around behind Hunter's head for a moment, and pulled out a large, transparent crystal bottle.
"This is it," Hunter said, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "After obtaining Victor's potion, the master kept thinking about its ingredients and simultaneously creating an antidote to neutralize its effects. However, by the time the master lost consciousness, he had only completed a half-finished product. But the master was certain that as long as this antidote could be completed, it would directly neutralize the buffs provided by the potion."
Thor examined the potion carefully. "But given your master's current condition, even if the effects of the potion are reversed, he probably won't survive... Oh, right, anyway, you want him to be free, so whether he lives or dies doesn't matter."
Hunter gritted his teeth, but had to admit that Saul was right.
"This task is no easy feat. Even if I can develop an antidote, I'll still have to confront Ralph again to free him. It's far too dangerous. I can't understand what kind of reward you'd offer me to take this risk."
Hunter immediately said, "I know the formula notes for this antidote; my master is just a hair's breadth away from completing it."
Hunter first lowered the difficulty of the task, then said, "If you can develop the potion, I will pass on Lord Ralph's flesh magic to you. Flesh magic is a centuries-old tradition of the Bloodthorn family."
"Not enough." Thor shook his head decisively.
Hunter was taken aback. He never expected that the prestige of a wizarding family would be completely ineffective in winning over the boy opposite him.
He gritted his teeth and said again, "There are also Lord Ralph's research notes from over several decades. This includes not only flesh and blood magic, but also the knowledge and experiences contributed by many wandering wizards. After Lord Ralph's refinement and verification, it has been compiled into a book called 'The Catalogue of Blood'."
"Anything else?" Thor asked expressionlessly.
Hunter opened his mouth, almost forgetting that he no longer needed to breathe, "My lord... this is already the most precious thing in Ralph Manor. I think you wouldn't even look at the other ordinary gold and silver."
"I don't want gold or silver, I only want knowledge. A family that has been passed down for a hundred years can't just have a catalog compiled by Ralph, can it?" Saul stared intently at Hunter.
Hunter stared blankly at Saul, then suddenly realized, "Sir, are you interested in things from the last era? There are some here, but they are all unsubstantiated records, and their authenticity cannot even be verified."
Thor's heart skipped a beat, realizing he'd asked the right question. "You don't need to worry about that. The price you've offered so far isn't enough to make me risk my life. As for the other things, I'll have to take a look first."
"I understand. Please move the bench under the table and arrange it neatly on the right side."
Little Algae immediately stepped in to take over.
"Click!"
As the chair in the cubicle was pushed under the long table, a spring clicked, and the stone tiles on the floor where the chair had been were suddenly lifted up.
Xiao Zao went inside to peek, but found no dangerous mechanisms, so she retreated back behind Thor's neck.
Thor walked over and bent down.
This small mechanism contains no magical elements and therefore no magical fluctuations, making it easy for wizards who are accustomed to using magic to detect things to overlook it.
This small secret compartment was half a meter deep, and inside there was a stack of books and a stack of papers, as well as several magic scrolls.
Thor glanced at the scroll; only one was a Tier 1 spell, Lesser Fireball. The rest were Tier 0 spells.
Thor really didn't understand why a level 0 spell would be made into a scroll.
He casually tossed the scroll to the ground and took out the book from the hidden compartment, standing it upright on the ground.
Guess the content from the book title.
My gut feeling is that there's nothing here.
Finally, Saul picked up the stack of loose papers of varying thickness and material and quickly flipped through them with his thumb.
A string of characters, some understandable and some not, flashed before my eyes.
Suddenly, Saul stopped, pulled out a few sheets of paper, and his eyes gradually brightened.
These few sheets of paper describe a book that the Bloodthorn family brought out from the Blood Rose family when they became independent. It is called the Death Wizard's Diary!
Although the following pages do not specifically describe the contents of the diary, they do mention some of its origins and family legends about it.
The Blood Rose family did not value this book, so it was casually passed on to Ralph's ancestors.
"This diary was indeed not passed down from the ancestors of the Bloodthorn family; its origin seems to have another story."
He quickly scanned the text on the paper.
Behind Thor, Hunter, whose head was the only thing left on the cabinet, could not see whether Thor, with his back to him, had found anything satisfactory.
He felt both distressed and anxious when he saw Saul carelessly leaving the family's treasured knowledge aside.
Hunter wasn't worried about Thor taking these things away, since they were all unverified knowledge and vague records. In any case, Hunter hadn't yet given Thor the most important flesh magic and Lord Ralph's notes.
He feared that Saul might ultimately disagree with taking the risk, in which case he would truly be powerless to help.
Thor was the only person who had been able to enter the basement for so long, which is why Hunter chose to cooperate with him.
If Thor also disagrees in the end, then Hunter really doesn't know if he will be able to wait for a second person.
At this moment, Saul stood up, stuffed a few sheets of paper into his pocket, and turned to me, saying, "Hant, is there anything else you're hiding from me?"
"No, sir."
"Then explain yourself. Since you've become a head and are placed here, how do you know your master has been locked up on the fourth floor and fed as insects?"
