Chapter 1005 Entering the Abyss

Kismet didn't ask Thor who he wanted to see. Instead, he seized on the information at the back and asked, "Did you capture the anchor point to bring it back for a combat experiment against the red worm? I remember you captured one in the Red Sea. Are you worried that the experimental sample size would be too small and the data inaccurate?"

"That's something we've considered."

"And on the other hand?" Kismet was clearly more interested in that.

"On the other hand, you will know when the time is right."

Kismet pursed his lips; the riddle-maker had been riddleed himself.

He knew that Saul was deliberately mimicking him, "I will definitely change in the future."

"I'll tell you later."

Kismet simply shut up. He could tell that Thor was absolutely unwilling to say anything now.

Thor, however, kept his eyes closed.

But he wasn't actually meditating; he was observing the anchor monsters that had merged together within his own space.

The bird-shaped anchor monster has fused with the anchor fragments and grown a horn.

Thor's purpose in collecting anchor monsters this time was not only to take them back for experiments on the Red Worm, but also to see if anchor monsters would fuse together.

If so, what would happen if multiple anchor monsters were to merge together?

The anchor monsters exist in the form of skeletons. Could they be monsters split from the bones of a sixth-tier wizard?

With many questions in his mind, Thor continued to steer the giant fish toward its destination.

Two hours later, a trigger stirred Thor's consciousness. He remained motionless, in the same posture as before, continuing to rest with his eyes closed, but his consciousness had actually flown to the Rainbow Channel.

Floco: [Sol, I can already see the big fish you're riding.]

Saul said, "Okay, stay at the furthest observation position, and don't do anything that will reveal your presence unless I signal."

Floco: [I understand. But do you really not need me to go to the abyss with you? Although my strength hasn't recovered to the fifth rank yet, I still have some tricks up my sleeve, which are better than that guy with unknown motives.]

Saul refused, saying, "It's precisely because we don't know his purpose that we need to investigate it. Besides, my intention wasn't to find out what he actually wanted to do."

After a pause, Saul still told Flim, "I want to know whose side Kismet is really on?"

Floco was somewhat agitated upon hearing this.

Froco: [Do you think Kismet isn't one of Douglas's people?]

"It's hard to say right now. But I don't believe Kismet would really be obediently at someone's beck and call, even if that person is a fifth-tier wizard."

Floco: [Hmph, if that's the case, I really hope Kismet can give Douglas a surprise.]

Froco was nearly killed by Douglas. He had absolutely no goodwill towards this guy who was never on the same side.

If Thor and Douglas weren't still in a cooperative relationship, he would have secretly tried to sabotage Douglas.

"Floco, observe Kismet's every move for me and record it in detail, but don't tell me. I'll talk to you alone when we get back."

Floco: [Okay.]

Thor disconnected and slowly opened his eyes.

He glanced at Kismet, who was so bored that he had dug a hole in the large fish beneath him, leaving only a thin layer of fish skin to insulate it from the seawater.

Since they met, Kismet seems never to meditate or try to improve his magic.

But this guy's strength is like an iceberg; you'll always find hidden shadows beneath the surface.

Thor will not contact Froco again until he emerges from the abyss. Otherwise, the cunning Kismet might notice something amiss.

The big fish suddenly jolted violently. Its skin, which had just been hollowed out by Kismet and was on the verge of collapse, was mercilessly torn apart by the jolting.

Black seawater surged in, bringing with it several half-rotten small fish. The fish rolled their eyes, their murky eyes fixed on Thor.

Thor opened his eyes and met the gaze of the fish. Behind the fish's eyes, he seemed to catch the gaze of another being.

"Snapped!"

The next second, the giant fish was torn to pieces, and Thor and Kismet fell into the sea.

They were now very close to the Eye of the Abyss. The black tide pollution in the seawater was enough to kill a low-level wizard.

But for Thor and Kismet, these were nothing compared to the pollution inside the abyss.

The instant Thor fell into the black tide, he glanced at Kismet, who was surrounded by numerous ripples that seemed to instantly form a protective force field.

Seeing that Kismet had quickly prepared his defenses, Thor ignored him and turned around, his skin shrinking into his bones.

Soon, a black skeleton emerged from the corroded and tattered wizard's robes and shot towards the abyss at an incredible speed.

Thor had already sent Xiaozha back to the Spirit Cleansing Wizard Tower beforehand, and this time when he entered the Abyss, he only allowed Kismet to accompany him.

Even Froco was only responsible for observing from the outside and would not go in with Thor.

The Death Wizard's Diary gave no warning until Thor felt a turbulent vortex.

Thor relaxed his mind and body, letting the pitch-black water sweep him into the unfathomable depths of the sea.

During this time, Thor slowly awoke within his own destiny line. He seemed to enter a godlike perspective. He could clearly see his black bones spinning helplessly on the water like fallen leaves and duckweed, and even some cracks had appeared on his body, from which seaweed-like plants grew.

Soon, Thor's body resembled a skeleton that had been submerged in the sea for hundreds of years, covered with strange seaweed.

These algae used Thor's body as nourishment, constantly growing stronger. Thor's skeletal body, which could originally ignore ordinary pollution, shrank and cracked like a withered leaf that had been drained of moisture, as if it would shatter into pieces and turn into powder at any moment.

Thor, whose consciousness had already risen to the inside of the Fate Line, simply watched the changes in his body calmly.

This body is now like a strand of hair on his head to him. This strand of hair is now withered and broken, and could die at any moment, but Thor can grow new hair to replace it at any time.

After struggling at the edge of the whirlpool for an unknown amount of time, Thor's skeletal body suddenly shuddered and broke free from the black seawater.

At this point, only most of his head and the part above his sternum remained. The other limbs and half of his spine had been annihilated by the black tide and the strange algae.

At this moment, his body found itself in a quiet space. The terrifying black tide and the seaweed growing in the cracks of his bones were instantly shut out the moment he entered this space.

There is no seawater here, nor is there any terrifying mental pressure; there is only tranquility.

It's like collapsing into a velvet silk quilt after extreme exhaustion, letting the softness engulf you.

Having seemingly crossed some kind of limit, Thor has moved from the most dangerous area to the safe center of the storm.

But neither the torment he had just endured nor the comfort he was in now truly affected Thor, who was hiding in the line of fate.

He calmly looked outside, as if watching a magnificent and exquisite animated sequence.

Shortly after he entered, another object broke through the invisible barrier and squeezed in from the dense black tide.

Saul immediately noticed the object.

The object's shape somewhat resembles a human spine.

However, it is still very different from a real spine.

The spine in front of me is not made up of bone segments stacked together, but rather looks more like a complete hollow tube.
