Chapter 34 Human Nature

"I think I've discovered something..."

Lilith turned around, and Truman's brow twitched; he had a bad feeling.

"Every living being seems to possess a kind of 'divinity,' but they are so weak, so why do they have 'divinity'?"

In front of Lilith was a humanoid creature made entirely of flowers and plants...

Its body, entirely woven from grass, was exceptionally agile, leaping from Lilith's hands to the ground, waving its arms and legs, which was quite comical at first glance.

"When I was an ancient god, I never paid attention to beings below the level of demigod, but now I have made some different discoveries."

Lilith's eyes lit up; for the first time, Truman saw a different light in her eyes.

Is this curiosity?

Truman wasn't sure, but it probably wasn't a bad thing for Lilith.

"This is really not a good thing for me." Truman stepped forward and kicked the humanoid creature away.

"If divinity exists within every living being, then what about humanity? I find that my understanding of humanity is somewhat simplistic."

"So I feel I need some reference points."

Lilith reached out and plucked a blade of grass beside her. The wreath on her head shimmered, and the grass suddenly began to wriggle, coming to life, even possessing a certain kind of "soul."

"Are you trying to give these things a true soul and life, letting them demonstrate to you what humanity is?"

"What do you think?" Lilith asked Truman.

"I think you should look at the true nature of these things." Truman sighed softly, removing the dreamlike phosphorescence from the castle.

This is the castle he built, suppressing a certain madness within it. This is also why the anomalies caused by Lilith, though spreading, did not result in large-scale casualties in the territory.

But after he removed the dreamlike phosphorescence, that madness, freed from its restraints, suddenly erupted.

The "items" that Lilith forcibly gave life to through her authority over life all underwent terrifying changes at this moment.

The maid who had led Truman into the castle suddenly swelled up, and various limbs and rotting corpses emerged from her body, tearing through her robes and revealing themselves.

Its own state is constantly changing; it is a werewolf, a vengeful spirit, and a puppet, possessing the characteristics of these several creatures at the same time.

The "humanoid creature" that Truman kicked away completely collapsed, turning into a bizarre mass of flesh and blood that kept writhing, carrying the fragrance of flowers, trees, and grass.

The grass that had just been given a soul transformed into a writhing mass of fleshy tentacles.

Even more outrageous, countless blood-red eyes with tentacles crawled out from the gaps, going berserk and mad in a chaotic manner.

They thrashed about wildly, radiating an aura of chaotic madness that even Truman perceived as possessing a destructive urge.

Even Lilith felt a sense of disgust at the sight of it; this was something she had been suppressing before meeting Truman, the very essence of this world.

"Humanity in a broad sense may not need to be found in humans, but this thing that is essentially insane... is probably the last thing you want to see."

"You gave them life and coarse souls, but you also know that these things cannot become real life." Truman tried his best to restrain himself, but he was still disgusted.

"Purify!" Truman drew sunlight from outside into the castle.

This is the kingdom of the sun god; if it weren't for the barrier of the dreamlike light, these filthy and evil things would have no chance of surviving here.

"Ah!" Almost all the monsters howled in agony under the purification of the sunlight, unable to resist.

Only the Frankenstein monster, formed from the "puppet" characteristic, has the potential to fight against it.

Truman only glanced at it once more, and the "puppet" became the Secret Puppet, emerging from a pile of ashes.

"You must ensure that your actions do not cause trouble for others."

Truman walked over and sat down in front of Lilith.

"These things are insignificant to you and me, but they are a catastrophe for ordinary humans."

"Your exploration of humanity and divinity is probably correct," Truman commented, drawing on his own understanding of the nature of the world.

Lilith's eyes lit up as she stared intently at Truman, awaiting his answer.

"Everything has a divine nature, which comes from the original Creator." Truman stated some of the conclusions drawn from later generations, "As for human nature, you have to find it yourself."

"What I can tell you is that it's feasible."

Two wolf cubs in later generations successfully accomplished this.

"But at the very least, as a friend, I hope you can exercise restraint and self-control while maintaining your desire to explore," Truman sincerely advised.

"Desire, moderation, and restraint..." Lilith mused. "Is this your understanding of human nature?"

Truman was taken aback, only then remembering that he had once said that desire was a part of human nature.

"Okay, I agree, for the sake of our friendship." Lilith nodded gently.

"...Okay." Truman nodded gently, and he let the dreamlike phosphorescence fall again, blending into the castle and blocking out the sunlight.

It took him some time to restore the Dreamland to normal and rescue those who had been corrupted by the puppets.

Truman departed amidst the worshippers' prayers and chants, and went on to find Sassril.

"You've also seen the Civilization Scroll, so what are you going to do next?" Truman asked bluntly.

He was extremely special among the angels of the Sun God's Kingdom, possessing his own independent territory, his own exclusive followers, and even the ability to speak with the Right Hand of God.

"The right future will come." Sasriel showed no other emotion and was happy to reveal the future plans to Truman.

Truman is one of the few people who can disregard his identity.

Truman nodded slightly. The future that existed on the scroll of civilization would come, which might mean that there were still hundreds of years before the ancient sun god would truly reclaim his power in the divine war.

"Alright, if you need anything, you can come find me. I'm preparing to enter the Book of Dreams."

"Enter?!" Sasriel's pupils contracted, and his expression turned serious.

"Hmm, enter! Return at irregular intervals." Truman chuckled, his research into the Book of Dreams had made great progress.

"Be careful." Sasriel had already guessed that the Book of Dreams was something like a source material.

From His own perspective, is entering the Chaos Sea really that easy?

He was able to use the power of the Chaos Sea thanks to the Blasphemous Tablets.

Sasriel didn't say much, only offering a reminder.

Truman smiled and nodded.

He then returned to the base of the Dream Statue, completely merging into it, and jumped into the Book of Dreams in a dark space.

Truman's goal is the depths of the Dream Sea, a place of unparalleled beauty, a gathering place of all the dreams, desires, and aspirations of all living beings throughout history.
