In the Apocalypse, I Can Enter Hogwarts
Chapter 74 Guardian Spell
Chapter 74 Guardian Spell
"The Patronus," Ian said calmly, without any emotional fluctuation. All he felt was a sense of awe at the enduring vitality of this world, a vast and pure vitality.
At this moment, based on this feeling, he channeled the magic power within his body, the two mixed together, and then a large amount of silver-gray mist-like radiance shot into the sky from the tip of his wand.
After a long while, once the magic power within him had calmed down, he finally came to his senses and looked up at the sky.
Although it was still early, a bright full moon could be seen in the sky, echoing the distant sun, creating a beautiful scene of the sun and moon shining together.
At this moment, the silvery moonlight poured down on the ground like a tide, while the moonlight in the sky seemed to fall like a continuous drizzle.
The previously tilled land and fertilized seedlings are growing and sprouting at a visible speed, turning a vibrant green, full of life, and thriving.
At this moment, Ian stood quietly in the garden, looking up at the bright silver full moon hanging in the sky, letting the gentle moonlight fall on his face.
"Chirp..."
It went on for a long time, and just as Ian was still immersed in the scenery, a clear and joyful chirp instantly captured his attention.
Sometime later, the full moon in the sky had long since disappeared, replaced by a magnificent silver bird, about a meter long from head to tail, with its wings spread out and covered in silver light, which drifted down in specks as the wings flapped.
"Phoenix..."
Ian recognized the bird instantly, because it was so distinctive. This phoenix was almost identical to the one he had seen in Dumbledore's office, except that his was more dazzling and larger.
As if sensing Ian's thoughts, the phoenix that had been flying in mid-air immediately changed direction, transformed into a silver beam of light, and appeared beside him in an instant, tilting its head slightly to allow him to gently stroke it.
"The physical guardian deity is actually a phoenix... Is this the true self that has been sleeping all this time?" Ian murmured to himself as he touched the phoenix's cold wings.
After a long while, Ian gently patted Phoenix's head and said to him jokingly, "Now that you have a physical form, the task of delivering messages will be handed over to you from now on. Lily can retire with honor..."
……
After about ten minutes, Ian learned about the basic information about the Patronus and waved his wand to dispel the spell. Although he wouldn't feel tired even if he maintained the summoning for 24 hours with his current magic power, he still chose to refuse.
There's no other reason, I just feel that it's too ostentatious, and there's no need for it now.
After the magic was dispelled, the phoenix also disappeared, but the connection between them did not disappear. Ian could clearly feel the connection between himself and the phoenix, and if needed, he could summon it again in an instant.
"Pouting lips, pouting pouting pouting..." Whether it was the joy of successfully summoning a physical guardian deity or the powerful aftereffects of the emotional magic, he was somewhat carried away and started singing that cringeworthy chuunibyou song from the past.
……
For the next week, Ian researched and developed applications for his Guardian. The most obvious were Apparition, Phoenix Rebirth, and Resurrection from the Ashes, and his physical Guardian Phoenix also possessed these abilities.
He was very happy about this, because he could finally be like Lao Deng, ignoring restrictions and not worrying about splitting up, and able to Apparate anytime, anywhere.
Moreover, and most importantly, he now possesses a trump card: instantaneous teleportation, which allows him to withstand the Killing Curse multiple times. After all, one only has one life. Now, with the Phoenix, his safety has increased exponentially…
There was only one thing that he regretted: the moonlight that made plants grow so vigorously when he first summoned the guardian deity never appeared again, otherwise he felt he would really take off...
"One should be content; this situation is already a rare treat. From now on, I'm one of those people with a phoenix, so I guess I can walk around the magic world with my head held high... Speaking of which, I've been cooped up at home for a week now; it's time to get out and about."
Ian was getting restless and, thinking of this, he quickly took out the hand-marked city map. This was a treasure map he had specially made for himself, since a city is too big and there are too many interesting places he hadn't explored.
After a brief greeting to Eileen, he took out the discontinued Fireball flying broom and also put on the spyglass from his bedroom.
"We've pretty much explored the surrounding area; let's go somewhere even further this time."
Ian already had a goal in mind. He flipped himself onto the broom, pushed off with his feet, and the broom, known for its explosive power, shot into the sky like an arrow.
The XXX area is the city's most famous and bustling commercial street.
Ian had never chosen to explore this place before, partly because it was far away and partly because there weren't many supplies. But this time was different; he was here purely for fun, so he chose this famous place.
He quickly arrived above the area and chose a relatively luxurious commercial building as his target. After circling at low altitude, the spyglass behaved itself without causing any disturbance. Ian then slowly descended to the ground, entered the building, and found it completely dark inside.
"The fireflies flicker. (Lumos)"
A ball of light, the size of a pebble, instantly appeared, illuminating a radius of about ten meters around it. With a gentle shake of the wand, the ball of light floated beside Ian like a drone.
In fact, he had figured out these spellcasting techniques a long time ago. After the second awakening of his magic, the most direct benefit was the increased control over his own magic. Consequently, he became much more proficient in these conventional spells, so whether it was levitation of the light sphere or adjustment of brightness, it could be accomplished with a mere thought.
"I have the illumination spell, but I'm still missing a one-handed sword, otherwise I feel like my wizardry isn't complete..."
With the light, Ian quickly saw the furnishings in the hall and immediately noticed several "Lucky Box" vending machines next to him.
"It's that kind of money-grabbing scam again."
Although he said that, his body betrayed him. He took out his treasured sledgehammer from his backpack, swung it hard, and smashed the outer glass cover with a bang.
A cloud of dust rose up. Perhaps it had been too long since anyone had cleaned this place. Everything was covered with a thick layer of dust, and the slightest movement would send dust billowing everywhere.
"Sweeped away by a whirlwind. (Tergeo)"
He took a few steps back and waved his wand, instantly dispelling the swirling dust. Ian then stepped forward, took the boxes from the machine, and began to open them one by one.
"Face mask? What brand is that? I've never even heard of it."
"A phone case? It's probably only worth a few dollars at most."
"Car purchase coupons? Hah..."
……
He seemed to have found a new source of amusement, making a comment after each one he opened.
These lucky box vending machines suddenly became popular before the disaster. The machines were marked with a price of 30 yuan, which would give you a box containing random items. It could be a new mobile phone, a tablet computer, or more common daily necessities.
In just a short time, Ian opened dozens of blind boxes, but he didn't see any of the advertised items; they were all worthless trinkets.
He picked up the last box and felt it was slightly heavier.
"It should still be perfume." He had a guess in his mind. After all, he had opened many boxes and could feel the texture. Just by looking at its weight, he could roughly guess what kind of item it was and make a pretty accurate guess.
Sure enough, it was the same perfume as before. That makes sense; if it were that easy to win, these lucky box vending machines wouldn't be so popular, they'd probably have gone out of business long ago.
Perhaps the initial enthusiasm had worn off; after opening dozens of blind boxes, the initial excitement had waned somewhat. I only wandered around the lobby on the first floor for a short while before leaving, as the empty building felt rather oppressive.
