In a man's world, being able to win a sword through one's penis is something to be proud of for a lifetime.

Wayne briefly boasted to his best friend about last night's experience. He didn't tell Geralt about Kayla's identity, but simply described Kayla's beauty and passion, Maisie's shy charm, and the all-night battle.

Then, under the envious gazes of Geralt and Dandelion, he downed the ice-cold beer in one gulp and said:

"That's nothing. I'm still not as good as you guys in this regard. I've heard that there's a legend about a white-haired hunky man circulating in Vijma's brothel circles. I've also heard that some girls are willing to entertain you for free."

After praising Geralt, Wayne's expression became more serious, and he said:

"By the way, the Rewaden commission is starting the day after tomorrow, right?"

"Let me be on duty for the first week. Perfect, I want to test if this sword suits my hand. I just don't know if those monsters are worth me using this sword for."

Of course, he had another purpose: to take advantage of the executive commission to avoid Kayla's birthday party, so as to avoid any awkwardness later.

Geralt took a sip of dark beer, nodded, and said:

"Okay, then leave the second week to me. Perfect timing, I just got a commission. Some monsters were found in the sewers of Vizima New City. I went to investigate yesterday, and it should be Qiqimo."

"To be honest, the sewers of the new city are a complex mess that has been neglected for thousands of years. Now that the construction of the city above is making such a big fuss, I wouldn't be surprised if any monsters appeared inside."

"Even after the new Vijma is built, this city will not be peaceful."

Wayne nodded. Knowing the history of the future, he was even more aware that Vizima was indeed a city plagued by disasters. In a dozen years, it would be affected by the Black Death brought back by Ciri from the Middle Ages, causing a plague outbreak that would kill a large number of residents.

Add to that the effects of various wars, coups, occupation by southern armies, and other man-made disasters, and perhaps twenty years later, the number of residents still alive in this city may be less than half of the original population.

As the two were chatting, a young man dressed in linen clothes walked into the tavern. He first went to the counter, chatted with old York for a few words, and then, guided by old York, found Wayne's table.

The young man had a wheat-colored complexion all over his body, and even though it was early spring, his clothes were soaked with sweat, clearly indicating that he worked a job that required him to be exposed to the sun frequently.

He approached Wayne's desk, bowed politely to Wayne, and then handed him a letter, saying:

"Mr. Wayne, you have a letter from City Hall."

Wayne took the letter and saw that the sender was Peter, the political officer he had met a few days earlier, and couldn't help but smile.

It seems that after being ignored for a few days, this government official was getting impatient and actually wrote to him, inviting him to dinner at the tavern that evening.

The house issue has been dragging on for several days, so I'll go sound out the situation tonight and see if we can resolve it.

He took out two copper coins and gave them to the young man as a tip, then put the letter away.

Geralt watched the young messenger's departing figure and asked Wayne:

"Whose letter is this? What happened?"

Wayne smiled and shook his head, offering no further explanation, simply stating:

"The house situation is looking promising. It won't be long before we can move into a big house."

Geralt, upon hearing this, did not show any expectation, but simply said:

"Although I'd love to tell you, we witchers have never had a fixed abode and don't need a stable home."

"However, you can decide your own affairs, and I won't stop you."

………………

In the evening, Wayne arrived at a tavern near the wealthy district, following the address on the letter. Upon entering, he immediately spotted the refined and cultured political official, Peter.

He held a glass of red wine, listening intently to the bard's performance, his brow furrowed, seemingly lost in thought.

Peter was very enthusiastic when he met Wayne, even more so than when they met at the city hall.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the political officer got straight to the point and asked:

"Several days have passed. I wonder if Mr. Wayne has made a decision about which house he wants to buy?"

Upon hearing this, Wayne picked up his beer, took a sip, then feigned a somewhat troubled expression, and said hesitantly:

"To be honest, Mr. Peter, I did originally intend to buy a luxury house, both as a residence and as an investment in Vigema City."

"However, just a few days ago, a friend of mine went through a financial crisis, and I lent him a large sum of money. Now, I'm afraid he doesn't have enough money to buy a house."

Peter became anxious upon hearing this. The main reason he had approached Wayne this time was that the performance review meeting for the first quarter of the year was about to be held, and the difference between him and the top-ranked government official was just the sales of a luxury house.

Securing this deal with Wayne would greatly benefit his future at City Hall.

Hearing that Wayne seemed to be backing down, Peter couldn't help but speak up and offer some advice:

"Mr. Wayne, the new city is just starting to be built, which is why there are discounts available. In the future, all the residents of the Kingdom of Temuria will want to become residents of Vizima, and the housing prices in the city will definitely continue to rise."

"If you miss this opportunity, you'll definitely regret it later."

Seeing that Wayne seemed somewhat interested, Peter, the political officer, quickly pressed his advantage and said:

"As for the funds you lack, I know a dwarf banker. If you use the house you buy as collateral, you should be able to borrow some money from him."

Upon hearing Peter mention the dwarf banker, Wayne shook his head and said:

"I'm sorry, Mr. Peter, I'm not going to borrow money from those bankers. Those guys are all bloodsuckers, and my job income is unstable."

"If I take on a debt, it might end up bankrupting me."

Seeing that Wayne seemed unmoved and about to give up, Peter grew even more anxious and asked directly:

"Mr. Wayne, if I may be frank, I need to know how much Oren you can raise so that I can better cooperate with you."

Seeing that the atmosphere was just right, Wayne pretended to be a little embarrassed and said:

"I can probably raise around 2,000 euros now, but I probably can't afford other high-end residences. I think I can buy that house that's supposedly problematic."

"You might not know this, but I know a warlock friend. If the house isn't a big problem, maybe my friend can help me solve it."

Peter paused for a moment upon hearing this, his previously anxious expression returning to normal. He looked Wayne up and down again, then smiled and said:

"Mr. Wayne, don't take me for a fool. Didn't I investigate your whereabouts before I found out where you live?"

"You yourself are a witcher, so perhaps you can solve the problem in that house by yourself, right?"

Wayne glanced at Peter with some surprise, and seeing the shrewd look in the other's eyes, he decided to stop hiding his true intentions.

"Haha, Mr. Peter is a shrewd official, but I think my buying that house has nothing to do with my profession."

"Of course, I'm not in a hurry. Maybe I'll wait another month or two, until the house's bad reputation spreads more widely, and then I'll take it over. Maybe it will even be cheaper."

"However, if other political officials contact me during this period, I will not refuse."

Upon hearing this, Peter's expression changed slightly, but he immediately regained his previous warm and friendly smile, picked up the flask, poured Wayne a glass of wine, and said:

"Haha, Mr. Wayne, there's no need to be so formal."

"Leave this to me. I can get the paperwork done for you tomorrow, and I'll give you an additional 1% discount. That's the maximum I can offer."

"If any of your friends want to settle in Vijma in the future, or buy shops, houses, or land here, please come to me."

"I'll definitely give you the best deal."
