Chapter 56 Francesca

Just as Wayne was indulging in the fun of opening treasure chests, a mysterious visitor arrived in the elven ruins of faraway Cordwin.

In a room a hundred meters away from the non-human race's camp, four oil lamps were burning in the corner of the room, and a magic circle made of expensive magical materials was placed in the center of the room.

Unbeknownst to anyone, at the center of the magic circle, the previously still magic top began to spin slightly, and an invisible magical force caused the entire magic circle to glow faintly.

With a thud.

Above the spinning top, space was suddenly torn apart, and an oval-shaped portal, seemingly out of thin air, appeared abruptly.

A few seconds later, the slightly swaying portal gradually stabilized, and a slender figure wearing a white dress, a purple cloak, and a hood covering her face walked out of the portal.

After the woman stepped out of the portal, her beautiful eyes scanned her surroundings. Only after confirming that she was in the right place did she close her eyes. Her lips moved slightly, and an invisible force emanated from her.

At the same time, a hundred meters away from the magic circle, Toruville, who was handling matters in the camp, suddenly froze, and the metal bracelet on her wrist trembled slightly.

The unusual movement of this magical equipment alerted the elven female commander that the lord she had been waiting for had finally arrived.

Toruviel immediately put down her work and went to the room where the portal had been opened.

Sure enough, in the dimly lit room, a beautiful figure stood quietly waiting.

Upon seeing the beautiful female elf beside the portal, Toluviel immediately bowed her head, knelt on one knee, and respectfully said:

"Lady Francesca, welcome."

The female elf known as Francesca has long, dark golden hair, beautiful blue eyes, and an exquisite appearance. She exudes an elegant aura, as if she were royalty.

Upon seeing Toluviel, the elven sorceress smiled charmingly, extended her slender, fair arm, and helped Toluviel up, saying:

"No need for formalities, Lady Toruvel."

"How are our compatriots doing?"

"This time, I've prepared enough supplies for you to live on for two months. It's right across from the portal. Send someone over to take it."

Upon hearing this, Toruville's expression of gratitude became even more sincere. The reason why they, a group of refugees, were able to live peacefully in the elven ruins was because of the support of Lady Francesca.

Without the supplies provided by the sorceress, this group of elderly, weak, women and children would never have been able to survive a winter in this barren forest.

Thinking of this, Toruville stood up, gave a slight bow to Francesca, and said:

"Lady Francesca, with so many of us relying on your support, it must cost a lot of money."

"We cleared out all the monsters in this ruin half a month ago, and also collected a considerable amount of precious metals and antiques."

"If you don't mind, I'd like to offer these things to you."

Upon hearing this, Francesca showed a hint of surprise. She had provided the address of the ruins to Toruville, and she had a certain understanding of how many monsters were inside.

In her memory, even if the less than twenty warriors in the Toluville camp were able to defeat these monsters, they would surely suffer heavy casualties.

But if that were the case, Toruville wouldn't have said it so casually.

So the elven sorcerer asked:

"Lady Toluviel."

"I've been preparing for this for a while and have purchased a lot of magical materials, all to help you clear out the monsters in the ruins."

"I can't believe you guys did it all by yourselves! Can you tell me how you did it?"

To this question, Toruville did not hide anything and immediately told Francesca in detail about how she had hired Geralt and Wayne, two witchers.

She was also told about the unopenable treasure vault.

After hearing her story, the beautiful elven sorceress showed a hint of surprise in her eyes. She extended a white finger, touched her lips, and considered for a few seconds before saying:

"I've also heard of Geralt the White Wolf's reputation. He's a powerful swordsman who has been active in the North for decades."

"As for the half-elf witchers of the Wolf School, I have never heard of them. They must be new witcher apprentices."

"Is his name Wayne?"

"Interesting. It's rare to hear of a new witcher being born, especially one who is a half-elf."

"But you're really lucky. When it comes to dealing with monsters, witchers are definitely more efficient and professional than us warlocks."

"But the fact that they were able to clear out all the monsters in the ruins shows that their strength is quite formidable."

"It's just that because there are so few witchers, less than twenty in the entire north, we rarely hear about them."

As she spoke, Francesca took a white veil from her pouch, concealed her face, and then revealed a charming smile, saying:

"Let's go and take a look at the treasure vault. This elven dungeon belongs to an elven prince from over a thousand years ago."

"Perhaps there are still some treasures stored in his vault."

Toluville, of course, would not object to Francesca's idea.

This elven sorceress is not only one of the five core members of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, the world's strongest spellcasting organization, but also a prominent figure among the elves with elven royal blood.

Even among the many beautiful sorceresses, Francesca was known as the most beautiful woman in the world and was a representative figure of the Elven race.

The two walked one after the other through most of the elven ruins and soon arrived at the treasure vault guarded by an unknown metal gate.

Before Toluviel could say anything, Francesca frowned and said:

"Strange, I remember reading in ancient texts that there should be a magic node in this treasure vault."

"How come this node is now damaged and has turned into a spatial rift?"

"Has something changed during these past thousand years?"

As someone without spellcaster blood, Toruville couldn't see anything. Faced with Francesca's question, she could only shake her head, indicating that she knew nothing.

The elven sorceress frowned, considered for several seconds, then suddenly smiled, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful smile, and said:

"However, this is for the best."

"The Kingdom of Cordwin has always been too harsh on non-human races, and many of our people have died because of their despicable methods."

"Their king, Henselt, is a stubborn and barbaric bastard who always ignores the advice of our Brotherhood of Sorcerers. He even has a prejudice against all spellcasters. He is an arrogant fool."

"This spatial rift allows weaker monsters from other worlds to cross over here. I'm sealing it with magic now."

"In the future, when necessary, it should be able to teach Kadwin a lesson heaped upon him."

"Let this bastard know that without the help of sorcerers, when facing those otherworldly creatures, the so-called human army is nothing more than a lunchbox."

Toluviel, who also harbors hatred towards humanity, naturally had no other thoughts about Francesca's idea.

Under Francesca's direction, she quickly had some magical materials brought in and used them to draw a sophisticated and complex high-level magic circle around the vault.

As the elven sorceress's beautiful, chant-like incantation slowly resounded, a powerful spatial lock was constructed around the vault by Francisca, drawing upon a vast amount of chaotic magic.

At some point in the future, someone will come here with the space key given to them by Francesca.

Not only can it open this spatial lock, but it can also release alien creatures connected to the outside world through the rift, causing some trouble for the Kingdom of Koldwin.
