Chapter 9 is here! He's here!

Holy Soul Village is not far from Notting City; it took the three of them half a day to walk to the city gate.

"Xiao San, Xiao Wu, Grandpa will take you to the academy and then head back. Once you're in the academy, you must listen to your teachers." After patiently giving these instructions upon entering the city, Old Jack continued, "Grandpa will come to pick you up again when the semester ends."

"Grandpa Jack, are you in such a hurry to leave?" Tang San couldn't help but ask.

"You're in your fifties, what's the rush?" Zhu Wu thought to himself, seeing Tang San's flustered appearance.

Why didn't you panic when you came to steal from my house?

"Hotels aren't places that ordinary people like us can afford," Old Jack said with a wry smile and a shake of his head.

"Let's go." He continued onward with Tang San and Zhu Wu, asking passersby for directions to Notting Academy.

After some time, the three of them saw a giant stone archway in the distance, 20 meters wide and 10 meters high, with a wide iron gate at the bottom and a small door on the lower left, next to which stood a guardhouse. Looking behind them, the road was wide and the trees on both sides were lush and green.

The four gilded signs of Nottingham College hang quietly above the archway.

"Soul Masters are indeed a privileged class in this world; even a junior Soul Master academy is built so well," Zhu Wu sighed inwardly.

While looking around, he continued walking with old Jack.

"What are you doing? Is this a place for country bumpkins like you?" A sharp shout was heard before we even got close to the gate.

Looking around, the young man who had been sitting in the guardhouse came out, his eyes filled with disdain, looking like a complete idiot.

Tang Da Shenwang said that you have already found a way to die. Zhu Wu glanced subconsciously at Tang San, who was standing on the other side of Old Jack.

Sure enough, Tang San frowned slightly, looking somewhat displeased.

"Young man, we're from Holy Soul Village," Old Jack explained with a forced smile.

"What a joke! A golden phoenix can spring out of a grassy nest?" The young man said with a disdainful look and a sarcastic tone.

"It's been many years since anyone with soul power has appeared around Notting City. You, a small village, suddenly have two? You're kidding me!"

"Young man, this is real!" Old Jack puffed out his chest slightly. "Look, this is the certificate issued by Deacon Su Yuntao of the Spirit Hall."

As he spoke, he took out the certificate from his pocket and handed it over.

Upon hearing Old Jack mention Steward Su Yuntao, the young man's brows furrowed immediately, clearly believing him to some extent. He glanced at Tang San and Zhu Wu, then looked back at Old Jack, took the certificate, and swept it across the room with both hands, his eyes blazing with fury.

"Damn it, old man, you've got me hooked!"

Looking up, one immediately spews profanities.

"Blue Silver Grass martial soul has innate full soul power, and Silkworm martial soul has innate level 6 soul power. I say, old man, if you're going to fake it, at least make it believable, right? I've worked in this academy for 4 years, do you really think I don't know anything?" As he spoke, he slightly raised his head, looking like a knowledgeable and cultured person, and sneered, "These two martial souls are recognized as useless martial souls, it's impossible for them to awaken such high soul power."

With that, he threw the two certificates to the ground, yelling, "Get the hell out of here! If you dare cause trouble again, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

Old Jack was so angry that his face turned red. He hurriedly bent down to pick up the certificate, but Zhu Wu beat him to it.

Seeing this, he stopped bothering to pick it up and instead looked up at the young man, angrily saying, "You're clearly deliberately making things difficult for me! Hmph, you just wait here, I'm going to the Martial Soul Branch Hall to find the steward to uphold justice and let him judge the matter."

Could it really be true? The young man's face immediately showed a hint of panic.

"You're just a gatekeeper, earning such a meager salary each month, what are you pretending for? Whether it's real or fake, the instructors will vet it once it's in, right? The key thing is, you're really reckless!" Zhu Wu, who had picked up the certificate issued by the Spirit Hall, looked up at the young man, a surge of anger rising within him. Arrogance isn't illegal, nor does it warrant death, but he deserved a beating.

"Xiao San, Xiao Wu, let's go!" Seeing that Zhu Wu had already picked up the certificate, Old Jack turned around angrily.

Zhu Wu glanced at Tang San out of the corner of his eye and saw that Tang San's left hand had already slightly raised.

Here he comes! He's here! As expected of Tang San, he really dares to do it. He expressed his shock.

In front of the Soul Master Academy gate, with people still around, they actually dared to kill someone!

"Saint Soul Village? I think it's more like Beggar Village." Though he was panicked and frustrated, the young gatekeeper muttered defiantly.

"What did you say?!" Old Jack was furious and turned around abruptly to glare at the young man.

"What! You're not convinced? Am I wrong?" The young man was startled and took a step back.

Then, seemingly feeling ashamed for backing down in front of an old man, he became angry and, in an attempt to save face, strode forward and raised his hand to push old Jack.

He raised his hand and sneered, "You're covered in patches; I think you're from a beggar's village!"

"Get out, get out now!"

With my fiery temper, seeing the young man about to push his hand onto old Jack's chest, Zhu Wu immediately raised his foot, displaying childish bravado.

"You bad guy, don't you dare bully my grandpa!"

However, Tang San was faster. He swung his left hand upwards, slapping the young man's outstretched left hand, and stepped forward, landing squarely on the young man's ankle. The young man stumbled, and Tang San used the momentum to push him towards the lower abdomen with both hands, while Zhu Wu followed up with his foot.

With a soft "thud," the kick struck the numb tendon in the young man's shin.

"Hiss!" The young man was struck as if by lightning and sat down on the ground with a thud.

Did he kick a nerve? The knowledgeable Tang San couldn't help but glance at Zhu Wu, though he just thought the other was lucky to have hit the nerve.

"Xiao San, Xiao Wu." Old Jack was startled and instinctively exclaimed softly.

"You brats, you're asking for it!" The young man was furious and stood on one leg to pounce on Zhu Wu, who had kicked him the hardest.

Zhu Wu was startled and instinctively jumped back, glancing around at the same time.

With a short buzz cut and one hand behind his back, he looked to be in his forties or fifties. It was obvious that the middle-aged man walking towards them was Yu Xiaogang. Knowing the plot well, he had been watching his surroundings. This old guy had seen the conflict break out on their side a long time ago, but instead of shouting to stop it, he walked over unhurriedly until the gatekeeper called out for the Blue Silver Grass with innate full soul power, at which point he quickened his pace.

However, no one spoke up to stop them along the way.

Is it because you're afraid of hurting your old voice by shouting from a distance?

Are you fucking pretending?

Although he had no obligation to help, witnessing the process firsthand made him realize that Yu Xiaogang was genuinely into pretending.

"Alright, stop now."

Yu Xiaogang, who was about to walk to Tang San's side, finally spoke in a calm tone.

"Master, you're back." The young man was stunned for a moment, then turned around despite the pain, bowing and scraping.

Yu Xiaogang completely ignored him, instead turning to Zhu Wu and asking in a nonchalant tone, "Little friend, could you show me the Spirit Hall's proof?"

Zhu Wu nodded and handed it over.

"Grandpa, here you go."
