Han Wuxie rubbed his temples; the matter, which had initially been somewhat resolved, had now become a complete mess again.

Han Wuxie tilted his head, looked at the silver-haired man in the distance, then at Xiaobai, and frowned, saying, "Xiaobai, didn't you say that my scent is irresistible to beasts? If he wasn't cultivating to improve, why would he stay here, in this freezing cold and all alone? It's truly baffling!"

Little White also looked troubled and said, "Yes, if it weren't for cultivation and improvement, no beast would willingly stay alone in the icy wilderness. After all, we beasts aren't born liking solitude! We rabbits like to live in groups, and foxes aren't solitary creatures either! But he's completely unmoved by my master's alluring immortal bones; it's truly incomprehensible! Unless he can't smell them, it's impossible for him to act this way!"

"Can't smell it?" Han Wuxie clapped his hands and said, "I finally understand! Illusions can also create deceptive fragrances, but he didn't create the plum blossom scent. It wasn't because he was negligent, but because he simply couldn't smell it, so how could he create the plum blossom scent!"

Xiao Bai said, "So that means he also yearns for cultivation, but because he can't smell the scent, he didn't notice the immortal bones on Master's body?"

Han Wuxie nodded and said, "That's exactly right! As long as he has the desire to improve his cultivation, everything will be simple!"

"What does Master want me to do?" Little White asked. "Do you want me to play the piano?"

"I can't beat him, and I can't persuade him, so I can only use improving my cultivation as a trade!" Han Wuxie took out his small cloth bag.

Xiao Bai asked blankly, "Master, did you bring your zither? How could you possibly fit it in such a small bag?"

Han Wuxie raised an eyebrow and smiled, "This cloth bag has runes drawn on it by Hua Qianye. Although it looks ordinary, Hua Qianye has turned it into a treasure pouch! It can't hold much, but he designed it so I can take things freely. Each time I take something out or put something in, it doesn't consume much strength, unlike immortal artifacts in the celestial realm that require immortal energy to retrieve things, or spiritual artifacts in the cultivation world that require magical power or spiritual energy to retrieve things! He specially designed it for me. As long as I infuse it with a little internal energy, I can take things freely. It can hold up to three hundred kilograms of things!"

Xiao Bai's eyes lit up as he exclaimed, "So, Boss is a master weapon refiner!"

Han Wuxie looked at him with admiration and said, "To me, it seems like he can do everything! Ever since I met him, it seems like all the difficulties I've encountered are no longer difficulties as long as he's around! He can solve everything in a very simple and quick way!"

Xiao Bai frowned and said, "Master, why doesn't Boss come out to help us? Dealing with this ice fox should be a piece of cake for him! Perhaps we don't even need the ice fox's help. Boss might have a way to transfer the soul back into the body of the person in the mirror!"

Han Wuxie sighed softly, "He's not in the ring."

"Is the boss not here?"

"I'm going to get my body checked."

"Does the boss have any news about his health?"

"He said he sensed a physical body in the mortal realm."

Xiao Bai asked with skepticism, "If Boss's soul is this powerful, how come his body is just a mortal's? Is he really in the mortal realm?"

Upon hearing this, Han Wuxie frowned deeply and began to have some doubts. However, she wondered: Why would Hua Qianye lie to me? He shouldn't have any reason to lie to me!

Xiao Bai was about to say something when he suddenly felt a sharp pain on his head. Just as he was about to yell and ask who dared to hit him, a sinister voice rang in his ear: "Keep your mouth shut, nobody thinks you're mute!"

"Boss?" Xiao Bai was about to blurt it out when he found his throat being choked, rendering him speechless.

"I used the wind to pin you down, so you wouldn't speak carelessly! Now listen to me, the reason I lied to Han Wuxie was to teach her to face difficulties on her own. Don't ruin my plan! For her to grow, I can't always come up with solutions for her; she has to solve all her problems herself! Don't let her doubt that I lied to her anymore! What you just said has already made her suspicious. You'd better find a way to make amends, or I won't let you off the hook!"

These words were spoken by Hua Qianye using the method of telepathy, and Han Wuxie was unaware of them.

Han Wuxie saw Xiaobai's face turn pale and then green, as if she were terrified and regretful.

"Xiao Bai, what's wrong?" Han Wuxie asked in confusion.

Hua Qianye quickly stopped the wind, as if he had never appeared at all.

Xiao Bai looked distressed. Although the wind's grip was gone and he could speak, he was somewhat speechless, unsure of what to say.

If I had known this would happen, I shouldn't have said anything!

"I'm fine, Master." Little White's eyes were filled with sorrow.

"You seem to have something on your mind?"

Xiao Bai shook his head hurriedly.

Han Wuxie scratched his head and said, "Actually, what you just said makes sense! Hua Qianye is so powerful, how could his physical body be in the mortal realm? He once told me that if he returned to his physical body, he would become even stronger, meaning his physical body is more powerful than his soul! In the past, in the immortal realm, he could kill the Demon Lord with the power of his soul. I feel that even the immortal lord's body is not worthy of his soul. If his body is that of a mortal, there are indeed many doubts! Before, I was probably too happy to think about it carefully when I learned that he had a physical body, so I didn't think about it in detail. Now that I think about it carefully, there are really too many doubts!"

Little White cried out inwardly: Master, can you please stop guessing? I was just talking nonsense, please don't take it seriously! You're so smart, if you figure out that the boss was lying to you, it will be like I ruined the boss's plan, and I'll be in big trouble!

"Xiao Bai, why does your complexion look worse and worse?" Han Wuxie asked worriedly.

Xiao Bai wiped his forehead, finding it covered in cold sweat. He said with a pained expression, "Master, I'm really fine! I just feel guilty because I think I did something wrong!"

"Bad? Guilt?" Han Wuxie looked bewildered.

Xiao Bai pouted, feeling like two little rabbits were fighting inside her.

The white rabbit cursed: "Little White, you're really not a rabbit! Because you're afraid of the boss, you're actually helping the boss hide things from the owner again! What a coward!"

The black rabbit twitched its ears and said, "Boss is doing this so that Master can grow stronger! You know that Master was bullied in the Immortal Realm in the past, and his dream is to become stronger! If you don't help Boss deceive Master, then Master will rely on the powerful Boss for everything and will never be able to grow up and become stronger!"

The white rabbit scoffed: "That's just sophistry! Lying to your master is wrong! Keeping things from your master is wrong too!"

The black rabbit sneered: You lied to her to help her! You kept it from her, also to help her! What's wrong with that!

Little White clutched its chest, looking distressed, and said, "Master, Little White's head hurts so much! Little White thinks being a human is so troublesome. There are so many things to consider, like being caught in the middle, it's so hard!"

Han Wuxie looked completely bewildered, utterly bewildered as to why Xiaobai would suddenly act so strangely when things were going so well.

"Master, let's deal with the Ice Fox first. You don't need to worry about me, I'm just acting crazy!" Little White chose to escape.

Seeing that he was preoccupied, Han Wuxie did not press him further.

However, she began to have serious doubts about Hua Qianye's search for a body.

Han Wuxie took out the guqin and gently plucked the strings.

Upon hearing this, the silver-haired man's eyes lit up slightly, but he quickly calmed down, shook his head slightly, and thought he was hallucinating.

Han Wuxie slightly curled the corners of his mouth.

Little White exclaimed with delight, "Master, you just casually plucked a few strings, and I feel so refreshed! It's amazing!"

Han Wuxie took a deep breath. Although she could only sit cross-legged here with the zither on her knees and it wasn't very comfortable to play, the beauty of the scenery was invaluable. The snow-white and pure white scenery allowed her to quickly enter the state of mind required for playing the zither.

As she gazed at the vast expanse of white snow, a beautiful melody seemed to resonate in her mind.

Han Wuxie lightly danced with her sleeves, her slender fingers moving like flowing clouds and water, gentle yet elegant. The music was as beautiful as snowflakes dancing in the air, as magnificent as towering mountains, and as graceful as a plum blossom braving the cold, its fragrance wafting gently in praise.

Xiao Bai has closed his eyes and sat cross-legged, quietly contemplating the meaning within.

The silver-haired man's eyes sparkled as he gazed intently at the girl quietly playing the piano in the snow. It was as if he saw a snow lotus standing tall in the ice and snow, or a proud snow plum blossom, pure and beautiful, gentle yet proud and confident.

The melody slowly rises to higher notes, the crisp high notes making the music lively and agile. The cheerful melody seems to transport listeners to a world of spring warmth, blooming flowers, flying swallows, and flowers in full bloom.

Upon hearing the sound, the silver-haired man could not resist the magical and mysterious allure of the music. He slowly closed his eyes, squatted down, and sat down in the same spot he had been before.

With his eyes closed, he seemed to see a hundred flowers blooming, as if he had returned to his childhood, becoming a carefree little fox again, jumping and playing with the other foxes in his tribe.

The beauty of the memories made him gradually unwilling to face reality, and he immersed himself in the music.

Han Wuxie's hand trembled, and the sound of the zither trembled as well. The melody, though slightly trembling, had a unique flavor, as if it brought out a trace of sorrow.

The unique Douyin (TikTok) video, interspersed with layers of high notes, seems to transport viewers to another scene, to a beach.

The vast ocean stretches to the horizon, like a path of spiritual practice with no end in sight. Yet, some dare to venture forth, their curiosity fueled by the unseen world, and without looking back, they journey towards the horizon.

The silver-haired man's face showed signs of pain.

He seemed to see himself slowly growing up.

The foxes of the same age also grew up slowly. The older generation of foxes worked hard to cultivate, but cultivation was not as they had imagined. There were always endless difficulties. Many old foxes eventually failed, defeated by their lifespan. They were about to level up and increase their lifespan, but they were helpless. They were just one step away from their original lifespan being exhausted.

The young foxes, who were also the best of friends, finally succeeded. They found a snow mountain where a thousand-year-old snow lotus grew, which helped them improve their cultivation and become human foxes.

However, the transformation was not as wonderful as they had imagined. The fox longed to become a human, but how many of them could adapt to human life after becoming human?

I was the most timid person at the time, and I didn't dare to leave home. Even when I transformed into human form, I dared not leave the place that belonged to foxes and dared not step into the place where mortals lived. I always had a feeling that I was a fox and not a human, and I rejected entering the world of mortals.

However, his companions preferred the feeling of being human, because once a fox spirit transforms into human form, it is bound to be an extremely handsome man or beautiful woman, and they enjoy the praise of countless people in the mortal realm.

But their good fortune didn't last long. The fox lived deep in the mountains and forests and had no idea of the dangers of the human world.

They thought they had found their true love in the human world. The fox spirits foolishly believed that the men loved them, but they didn't know that after their lovemaking, the men would find out they were foxes and would not stay with them at all. What they thought was true love was nothing but lust, and they had no intention of marrying them.

Those male foxes thought they had met the women they loved, and they gave everything to them, striving for the mansions and money that humans longed for. But when the women found out they were foxes, they were either scared to death or they asked Taoist priests to exorcise them. How could there be true love?

When his heartbroken companions returned and learned of their ordeal, he began to hate mortals. He felt that if any mortal was too kind to the fox-foxes, they were lusting after their beauty and had ulterior motives.

While he was feeling indignant for his fellow foxes, the fox clan faced its greatest danger in seven thousand years because the transformed fox members seemed to be involved with the human royal family. The cruel humans, in alliance with demon cultivators, massacred the fox den. All the level two and three fox demons who could take human form were kidnapped, and all the foxes that could not take human form were killed on the spot! If he hadn't been an ice fox who had to cultivate in the ice cave every day, he might have been taken away as well.

I cultivate here and work hard because I want to go to the cultivation world and find my companions who were taken away by demon cultivators.

As those past scenes were recalled bit by bit, the melody became melancholic, and his heart trembled slightly, as if the pianist knew everything about him and could make the melody match the scene exactly as he remembered it.

The music suddenly became more intense. In addition to playing the zither, Han Wuxie also took out a small waist drum from his bag and struck the drumhead. The drum sound and the zither sound complemented each other, pushing the music to a climax.

"Ah!" The silver-haired man roared. In the music, he seemed to see himself wielding his sword and rushing to rescue his companions. That exhilarating feeling, that suppressed anger, suddenly erupted. He felt something else bursting out from within his body as well.

At the same time, Han Wuxie struck the drumhead one last time, and as the vibrato of the zither gradually faded, the music ended.

"Upgraded?" Xiaobai pouted at the silver-haired man, feeling a little jealous. "I only reached the mid-stage of level four, but he's already leveled up. We were listening to the music together, so why is there such a big difference?"

Han Wuxie smiled faintly, "It must be related to his state of mind; this piece of music touched him more deeply."

Looking at the aura surrounding the silver-haired man, Xiao Bai felt both fear and envy at the power contained within it. His eyes gleamed as he exclaimed, "Level two, top-tier! That's amazing! When will I ever reach top-tier?"

Han Wuxie smiled reassuringly and said, "It will be soon."

Little White smiled proudly and said, "With such a powerful master, I'll definitely become very powerful very quickly!"

Han Wuxie couldn't help but laugh. "You just know how to make me happy!"

Xiao Bai smiled sweetly, but her eyes held a hint of bitterness. Looking at Han Wuxie's smile, she felt guilty. But her boss had lied to their master so that he could grow stronger, and she knew he was lying, yet she kept it a secret, making her an accomplice! This was really troubling her!

The upgraded silver-haired man transformed into a cute little silver fox, chubby and fluffy, a far cry from his cold, human form.

He absorbed the aura that appeared around him during the upgrade in his fox form. The aura was absorbed into the little fox's body, and his silver fur emitted a dazzling silver light, like twinkling stars.

The little silver fox slowly opened its eyes. Now that it had transformed into a fox, its pupils were also silver, sparkling as if many diamonds were inlaid in the silver.

The little silver fox turned its head to look at Han Wuxie, its gaze becoming somewhat complicated, as if it were undergoing a difficult internal struggle.

The Ice Fox transformed into an incredibly handsome, icy man and slowly walked to Han Wuxie's side.

Xiao Bai tried to stand in front of Han Wuxie to protect him, but Han Wuxie pushed him away and said with a faint smile, "It's alright. I don't think he will hurt me. I have already played the zither to help him level up, so he should be able to fulfill my request to come here."

Upon hearing this, the silver-haired man's gaze became even more complicated, showing some struggle.

Han Wuxie looked at him with a smile, waiting for him to speak first.

He walked up to Han Wuxie and stopped just one step away from him.

He said awkwardly, "You play the piano quite well. As long as you play one piece for me every day, I will... do whatever you want with me!" With a whoosh, all his clothes were off, and he looked like he was ready to die for the music.

Han Wuxie was completely stunned!

Xiao Bai was startled for a moment, but quickly recovered, reaching out to cover Han Wuxie's eyes and angrily shouting at the silver-haired man, "You perverted fox, exhibitionist!" (When he uttered these words, did he ever think that in the past, when he transformed and couldn't change his clothes, he was just as much a naked exhibitionist!)

The silver-haired man stood there naked, shivering in the cold wind. He frowned and said blankly, "Isn't this what humans demand of the fox clan? Don't they crave our bodies and lust after our beauty? I'm just fulfilling her wishes."

Xiao Bai rolled its eyes, looking at the silver-haired man with an expression of utter disdain, and sneered, "You're ruthless! I really don't know how your brain works! Are you too narcissistic, or are you overthinking things? My master is only a few years old, please take a closer look! It's one thing if you were a girl, but you're a boy, saying things like this is just too ridiculous! For a grown man to say such things to a ten-year-old child, your brain must be filled with shit!"

The silver-haired man frowned unhappily, looked at Han Wuxie whose eyes were covered by Xiaobai, and then at his own naked body, finally realizing that something was amiss.

If a stranger were to pass by here, they would never suspect that the other person was lusting after their beauty, but rather that they were stripping naked and about to do something bad to a ten-year-old child!

The silver-haired man's face grew increasingly pale, gradually turning red. He quickly put his clothes back on, his voice somewhat embarrassed, yet still habitually cold as he said, "Since that's not your request, then what do you want? I have nothing else to give you."

Han Wuxie asked in a low voice, "Xiao Bai, isn't he dressed yet?"

Xiao Bai quickly removed his hands from Han Wuxie's eyes and chuckled, "I almost forgot I was covering Master's eyes."

Han Wuxie rubbed her eyes to adjust to the light and looked at the silver-haired man. Seeing his embarrassed expression, she realized she was just as embarrassed, but she still tried to ease the awkwardness by asking, "What's your name? How should we address you?"

"Name." He frowned. He hadn't had any companions in a long time, and this name hadn't been mentioned in ages. He said coldly, "Ice."

Little White pouted and said, "Damn, it really does resemble a block of ice! The name is so fitting! Now I finally understand what humans mean when they say a person's name reflects their character!"

Han Wuxie glared at Xiaobai, and Xiaobai shut up and obediently stayed by his side like a child who had made a mistake.

Han Wuxie politely said, "Bing, we were introduced by Hua Lianhuo. He told us that you have the magic to transfer souls, and we need your help."

As she spoke, she took out a mirror, lifted the cloth, and Sima Yan in the mirror looked outside, somewhat bewildered, and asked in confusion, "Miss Wuxie, what are you doing in the snow mountain?"

"He can help you return to your original body," Han Wuxie said, looking at the silver-haired man. "I need your help to return the soul of the person in the mirror to their original body."

The silver-haired man took the mirror, gave Han Wuxie a deep look, and said, "You've raised me by one level, and all you ask is for me to simply put the soul of the person in the mirror back into their body?"

Han Wuxie smiled and nodded.

"I understand." The silver-haired man asked, "Where is his body?"

"The Great Jin Imperial Palace," Han Wuxie said with a sly smile, "You can directly help him put his soul back!"

Little White muttered to himself, "Master has such a clever plan! This way, the fox will do everything, and we won't have to go to the Great Jin Palace!"

The silver-haired man frowned and shook his head, saying, "I won't leave here. I don't like places where humans live."

Han Wuxie asked, puzzled, "Why? Don't you feel bored and lonely here all by yourself?"

He glanced at Han Wuxie indifferently, but found himself inexplicably no longer disliking the child, and actually answered truthfully, "As long as I become a Saint-level demon beast, I will go to the cultivation continent."

"The Cultivation Continent?" Han Wuxie smiled slightly and said, "Your purpose in cultivating is to go to the Cultivation Continent? Do you have any friends there?"

Looking into her curious eyes, the silver-haired man realized that he didn't know how to avoid her questions or how to hide anything. He would truthfully answer, "I went to save my companions," because of her curious gaze.

"Oh." Han Wuxie nodded and said, "Since you don't want to go out, I'll bring his body with me. We've reached an agreement, so don't go back on your word. When I bring the body, you'll help me put his soul back into the body."

The silver-haired man nodded slightly.

Han Wuxie put away the mirror, waved to Xiaobai, and said, "Xiaobai, let's go to the Great Jin Imperial Palace!"

"Huh?" Little White asked, puzzled. "Master, aren't you letting this ice block go?"

"He said he doesn't want to go to places where humans live. Why should we force him? As long as he agrees to help us put the person in the mirror back into their body, we've already achieved our purpose for coming here. Why ask for more?" Han Wuxie tapped Xiaobai's head and laughed, "Greed isn't good! Let's go!"

"Okay!" Xiao Bai looked back at the silver-haired man, then turned around again. Han Wuxie was already far away. He shouted, "Master, wait for me! This is an illusion. Shouldn't we wait for him to break the illusion? Wait for me!"

Han Wuxie chuckled mischievously, "This illusion is so simple, I could have easily walked out of it myself. Why wait for him to unravel it?"

"Then why didn't Master leave before?" Xiao Bai caught up and walked alongside Han Wuxie, looking resentful and pouting, "I dug so hard in the snow before, and you didn't even tell me you could leave!"

Han Wuxie chuckled slyly, "If you hadn't worked so hard digging through the snow, how would we have summoned Ice Fox? If we hadn't pretended to know nothing, how would he have shown up to us? I reckon if I just casually broke the illusion array, when he appeared, he wouldn't be telling us to get lost, but would just instantly kill us two intruders!"

"That's true. If someone breaks into my cultivation area, I'll kill them instantly. Unless they're just loitering around looking silly, I wouldn't be curious enough to check who they are!" Little White grew increasingly agitated and said angrily, "Master, the way I was digging in the snow actually made me look like a fool in that guy's eyes! What kind of pathetic top-grade demon beast is that, looking down on people!"

Han Wuxie was amused by Xiaobai's exaggerated expression, patted Xiaobai on the back, and comforted him, "It's okay, it's okay. Right now, Xiaobai may seem low-level and a bit silly, but in the future, Xiaobai will definitely be very strong!"

"Mmm!" Xiaobai nodded vigorously.

As the girl and her pet gradually disappeared into the distance, the silver-haired man's gaze deepened slightly. He even felt a little envious, envious of that seemingly arrogant rabbit for having such a powerful master.

Apart from the feeling of rapid leveling up when he took the snow lotus back then, he hadn't felt that leveling up was a fast and enjoyable thing for a long time.

Over the long years, he had forgotten the time it took him to go from level 10 to level 1 of the highest grade. He thought it would take at least a thousand years to go from level 1 of the highest grade to level 2 of the highest grade. But he never expected that he would level up in just one song.

"What secret does this child hold? Why could a single song level me up? And why, after hearing her sing just one song, did I stop disliking her and even develop a vague fondness for her? Why did I answer her questions without reservation?" He frowned deeply, completely baffled, and inexplicably began to look forward to their next visit.

……

"Han Xingyu, I'm so worried about my sister. I have no strength left and I don't want to cultivate anymore." Han Tianci went on strike, threw down his longsword, and sat down on the ground.

Han Xingyu continued wielding his broadsword, each strike creating a gust of wind, practicing until he was drenched in sweat, as if he hadn't heard Han Tianci's words.

When Han Tianci saw that his words were ignored by Han Xingyu, he was so angry that he took off his shoes and threw them at her.

"Wow, Han Tianci, you're trying to murder me!" Han Xingyu cleaved the flying shoe in two with a single stroke. Only after it was cut in half did she regret it immensely, because as the shoe was split in two, a stench of foot odor wafted out.

Han Xingyu put down her broadsword, gagged a few times in disgust, and roared angrily, "You knew I had just finished cultivating, was drenched in sweat, and my shoes stank horribly, yet you still threw them at me! Han Tianci, what do you mean by this? What's wrong with you?!"

Han Tianci looked at his shoe, which had been cut in half, and was furious. He roared, "You knew I was just throwing the shoe at you, why did you cut it in half? Now I have to go barefoot!"

"Hey! You threw it at me, and you still think you're right! Your shoe got chopped in half, you deserve it! Serves you right for messing with me!"

"Who told you to ignore what I said!"

Han Xingyu pouted and rolled her eyes, saying, "I don't have time for you! It's your business if you don't cultivate, but if Sister Wuxie comes back and you haven't reached the peak of the Martial Warrior realm, you'll be in for a beating!"

After saying that, Han Xingyu raised her broadsword again.

Han Tianci frowned and said in a low voice, "Han Xingyu, are you really not worried at all?"

"I am worried, but what's the use of worrying? I should just concentrate on my cultivation so I can forget about my worries!" Han Xingyu continued to swing his broadsword forcefully.

Han Tianci's eyes lit up and he said, "Han Xingyu, shall we go find my sister?"

Han Xingyu nearly swung her knife into her own shoulder, stammering, "Are you out of your mind? We don't even know the way to the Ice Fox!"

Han Tianci narrowed his eyes and smiled eerily, "Dealing with beasts, with your talent, sister, is definitely no problem! But even if that fox agrees to help you put the soul of the person in the mirror into your body, we still need to find that body, right? Let's go to the Great Jin Imperial Palace!"

"The Great Jin Imperial Palace?" Han Xingyu hesitated. "But if Sister Wuxie comes back first and then goes to the Great Jin Imperial Palace, wouldn't we have gone for nothing? Or what if that top-quality ice fox is moved by Sister Wuxie's kindness..."

"Pah, what kind of reformation are you talking about!" Han Tianci spat.

Han Xingyu scratched his head, embarrassed, and said, "If we don't talk about reforming them, what should we talk about?"

"I was captivated by my sister's music! Or rather, tamed by her talent!"

"Oh, whatever! That's not the point!" Han Xingyu continued, "If that top-grade ice fox goes all the way and takes the mirror directly into the Great Jin Imperial Palace, putting the soul of the person in the mirror into their body, then Sister Wuxie won't have to do anything and can just go back to the mountains. Why should we bother?"

Han Tianci frowned and muttered, "What you said seems to make sense."

"That makes perfect sense, doesn't it!" Han Xingyu continued, brandishing her sword. "Get back to cultivation! Stop dawdling! I don't want to be punished!"

After much internal struggle, Han Tianci could only sigh. When he tried to practice his sword, he realized he was barefoot. Remembering that Han Xingyu had cut his shoe in two, he immediately raised his sword and thrust it at Han Xingyu, demanding, "Give me my shoe back!"

"Wow, you rascal, why do you always launch surprise attacks!" Han Xingyu fell down in a sorry state while trying to dodge Han Tianci's attack. Han Tianci pounced on her, took off one of Han Xingyu's shoes, and put it on his own foot.

Han Tianci jumped up and down, finding the shoes fit perfectly, and smiled with satisfaction, saying, "Continue cultivating!"

Han Xingyu finally managed to get up from the ground. Seeing Han Tianci's smug look, he was so angry that he bared his teeth and brandished his claws, wanting to pounce on him. However, he realized that he had a shoe on one foot and no shoe on the other, making it very uncomfortable to run. He simply threw away the other shoe and ran over barefoot, roaring, "Han Tianci, let me show you my big knife!"

"Who's afraid of who? You brat, you'd better taste my sword first!"

……

Imperial City.

Little White transformed back into a little rabbit and nestled obediently in Han Wuxie's arms.

Han Wuxie walked down the street, attracting the attention of many passersby.

"This little girl is really pretty."

"Yes, she has such a great presence."

"You must have been born into a good family, right? Why are you walking alone on the street? Things haven't been peaceful in the city lately!"

"I heard that Aunt Cheng's son has gone missing, and Grandma Wang's granddaughter is also missing. There must be a large child abduction organization in the city. I don't dare let my son go out to play; he's kept at home every day!"

"Sigh, I wonder whose child this is. It seems the worst that could happen to him!"

"Yes, what a pity!"

"Why don't we go and remind her to go home and stop wandering around?"

"Let's not meddle. There are so many people watching; there might be kidnappers among them. If we get involved, the child might be fine, but we might be wrapped in sacks and beaten to death before we even get home!"

"Let's just go home; out of sight, out of mind!"

"Yes, meddling in other people's business never does any good; it's best to protect yourself!"

Xiao Bai kept his ears perked up, listening to everything the passersby said. He nudged Han Wuxie's hand with his little nose.

Han Wuxie knew he had something to say, but was afraid of attracting the attention of passersby. After all, if a rabbit were to speak, it would easily cause panic among the mortals of the Nine Provinces Continent.

The people of the Nine Provinces Continent are all ordinary folk, unlike the martial arts cultivators of the Martial World Continent who are knowledgeable and experienced. They have no idea about spirit beasts or demon beasts. Through word of mouth, they believe that rabbits that turn into humans are demons, and that demons are all evil and eat people.

Han Wuxie entered an inn, asked the owner for a room, and went inside without lingering.

"Xiaobai, what do you want to tell me? You seem to be in a hurry?"

The little rabbit transformed into a cute white-haired boy. Little White blinked, getting used to his human form.

"Master, the people on the street are saying that a sizable human trafficking organization has emerged in the capital, and many children have gone missing! Perhaps you've already been targeted; I've noticed several pairs of eyes staring at you with ill intent!"

Xiao Bai said angrily, "Those people who clearly knew there would be danger not only didn't come to tell you, but they all left to protect themselves. They kept saying they wouldn't meddle, but in reality, they're all cowardly, timid, and heartless bastards who wouldn't help those in need! Master, Old Rabbit said the people of Kyushu are very honest and kind, but I think they're the worst. They're all rats, and rats are the most two-faced, opportunistic, and scheming among us beasts!"

Han Wuxie sighed and said, "I also noticed that many people on the street had unfriendly eyes. It turns out they are child traffickers. But what do they do with so many children? Actually, I only know from some books that child traffickers are despicable. I don't know much about the specifics. I don't understand much about the mortal world yet."

Xiao Bai said indignantly, "Master, you don't understand. I think kidnappers are the most despicable people, a hundred times more despicable than murderers and robbers!"

"Why do you say that?" Han Wuxie didn't understand why Xiaobai was so angry.

"I heard from Old Rabbit that child traffickers specialize in abducting other people's children. Some have a conscience and just sell their children to families who can't have children, just to get some money. But some heartless ones are even more despicable. They actually beat perfectly healthy children until they're crippled, then force them to wear very thin clothes and beg along the roads in the snow. If they don't get any money, they don't give them food and beat them severely. Among the children they abduct, some are very talented, perhaps with a knack for martial arts or exceptional intelligence. They train these children to steal and cheat, forcing them to do the most heinous crimes!"

Han Wuxie felt a chill run down his spine as he listened, and said with sympathy, "Those fathers who have lost their children must be the most heartbroken."

"More than that!" Little White's eyes were red as she said, "I remember Old Rabbit telling a story about a mother who was walking down the street with her child when suddenly three burly men rushed out of an alley and snatched her child away. Passersby just stood by and watched, no one offering help. Later, she went to the authorities, who outwardly promised to help find her child. But in reality, the authorities and the kidnappers were in cahoots. These kidnappers specialized in abducting children, and to avoid trouble, they had already bribed the authorities beforehand. Having received the bribes, the authorities naturally turned a blind eye. When others reported lost children, they would claim they would do everything in their power to find them, but when the constables were about to go out to search, the officials would order them to stand idly by!"

"Then...did that mother find her child later?" Han Wuxie's nose tingled with tears, as if he knew the answer but still asked foolishly.

Xiao Bai shook his head regretfully and said, "That mother searched for a long time, but she never found her child until she died of illness. She searched for a full twenty-one years, and she went to her coffin with regret. Old Rabbit said that when that mother died, her eyes were not closed in peace!"

Han Wuxie's eyes also reddened slightly, and his voice was filled with deep grief and indignation as he said, "Those who commit murder and arson, though utterly heinous, at least gave those people a quick death! But child abductors inflict immense psychological pain on the parents of their lost children, essentially torturing them to death!"

Xiao Bai sighed, "The worst part is that some parents searched for over ten years before finally finding their child..."

"Why are you the most miserable after finding the child?" Han Wuxie asked, somewhat puzzled.

"They found their children, only to discover that their once healthy children had been beaten into cripples and were now begging on the streets! Others found their children had become thieves, swindlers, robbers, kidnappers, wicked people driven mad by evil. The kidnapped women suffered the worst, often sold into prostitution! Or…" Xiaobai said with some heartache, "Or perhaps the children were perfectly fine, but because they were sold to good families as children, becoming the children of wealthy and powerful people who couldn't have children themselves, they learned that those who came to their door were their parents, and instead ordered their servants to beat them away! How heartbreaking!"

---Aside---

I've recently seen many parents crying after losing their children, which prompted me to write this piece. I've added some personal emotions to it. I truly don't understand those who abduct children. Why would they use human beings for business? Isn't it said that human nature is inherently good? Why would they do such a thing? The internet is vast; I hope it can help. I hope those abductors will stop kidnapping people. To those who buy other people's children, there's a saying: "No demand, no killing." I would also say: "No demand, no abduction!"

I seem to be showing some compassion today, and I hope you won't think I'm being hypocritical. After all, on the internet these days, being a good person is easily seen as hypocrisy. I genuinely saw a news report today about a woman who has been searching for her child for twenty years and still hasn't given up. It's so tragic! If I have children in the future, I definitely need to keep an eye on things, because ten months of pregnancy is really not easy, and ten months of feelings are not something to be taken lightly!
