Although the old woman seemed to be preventing the old man from speaking, he still released her hand and said in a deep voice, "Now we are only facing a woman. Are you really so reluctant to let go? Feng'er, you are my most outstanding son. You should know how much effort I have put into raising you to become the future head of the Tian family. All my expectations are placed on you. I hope you will not disappoint me. We are not in a hurry for your answer now. In three days, your newborn son will be a month old. I hope to get a satisfactory answer before that day."
Just as Tianfeng opened his mouth to say something, there was a knock on the door. This was his father's residence, and he had only come after being notified by his parents. Knowing that his father had a guest, he took his leave before his father could ask who it was, as if he was trying to avoid the situation.
When the door was opened, a woman stood before it, as if she had stepped out of a traditional Chinese ink painting. Her elegant demeanor, gentle gaze, and breathtakingly beautiful face were captivating.
Tianfeng froze instantly. He hadn't expected the person to be her; it was none other than his wife, Han Rou.
Han Rou smiled gently at him, and seeing that he didn't speak, she spoke first: "I didn't expect Brother Feng to be here too. Is there something you need to see Father and Mother about?"
Tianfeng snapped out of his daze, his gaze seemingly evasive. Instead of answering, he asked, "Rou'er, what are you doing here?" As he spoke, he looked at the two elders behind him with a questioning look, as if he thought that Han Rou had been summoned by the two elders. Perhaps they wanted to make a move on Han Rou and bring up the matter of him taking a concubine.
Seeing her son's questioning gaze, the old woman instantly understood what he meant. She shook her head slightly, indicating that they hadn't summoned Han Rou. The old woman stepped forward and looked at Han Rou with a puzzled expression. This daughter-in-law hadn't come to their residence since Tian Xie was born five years ago.
"What are you doing here?" The old man's gaze turned extremely angry as soon as he saw the person at the door.
With a slight furrow of her brows, Han Rou first politely bowed to the two elders.
The old man snorted coldly, and the old woman looked somewhat troubled. She said in a low voice, "Rou'er, what brings you here? Just say it."
Tianfeng stepped forward to take Hanrou's hand, but Hanrou subconsciously moved away. Tianfeng's brow twitched slightly, and Hanrou, realizing something was amiss, smiled faintly and said, "I have something important to discuss with my parents, don't worry."
Tianfeng remained silent, simply gazing intently at her.
Han Rou turned to the side, as if she were turning to face the two old men, but in reality she was avoiding their gaze.
"Father, Mother, in three days your grandson will be a month old, but you two still haven't named him, nor will you let Brother Feng name him. What's the reason for this?"
The old man sneered, "Grandson? I don't recall having a grandson who's almost a month old. My eldest grandson is already ten, my second grandson is eight, and my third grandson is six. Where did this grandson who'll be a month old in three days come from?"
"father……"
"Shut up! Even though your Han family is not native to the Immortal Realm, your founding ancestor who ascended to the Immortal Realm has been dead for hundreds of millions of years. The Han family can be considered to have transcended the mortal realm. My son respectfully calls me father, but you keep calling me 'dad' like a mortal. No wonder your children are all mortals..."
"Father!" Tianfeng interrupted the old man, pulling Han Rou behind him. He looked directly at the old man and said in a low voice, "Rou'er is also a Xuanxian, she is not a mortal! Besides, our child doesn't have immortal roots, so we can't be sure it's her fault. No matter how much this matter disgraces the Tian family, the child is innocent. Regardless of whether he has immortal roots, spiritual roots, or immortal bones, even if his lifespan is extremely short, the blood of the Tian family flows in his veins, that's undeniable! We've all agreed not to hold any banquets or spread any news about the child. According to your wishes, even your parents haven't been informed of the child's birth. Why are you being so aggressive? If Father and Mother don't name the child soon, I won't listen to you anymore. I'll name the child now!"
The old man glared angrily, his beard bristling. The old woman whispered in his ear, "Tianba, you must hold your temper! Now is not the time to turn against us. Have you forgotten that we just said we wanted Feng'er to consider taking a concubine? Of all our children, only Feng'er is capable of shouldering this responsibility. If we turn against him now, it may be too late to undo the damage. Feng'er might really choose to leave the Tian family with his wife and children. The only way to make him choose to take a concubine is to make him feel guilty towards us. Otherwise, all your efforts in pretending to be unconscious these past few days will have been in vain. If we feel guilty towards him now, he will surely be filled with resentment and abandon everything in the Tian family! You must suppress your temper and give the child a random name for now."
The old man said in a deep voice, "The newborn child of the Tian family can only be named by me, the head of the family. Even if you are the child's father, you cannot choose a name arbitrarily. Otherwise, I will absolutely not include him in the Tian family genealogy!"
Upon hearing this, Tianfeng was somewhat incredulous. After all, on the day the child was born, the old father almost strangled the child when he saw him. If he hadn't stopped him, his father would probably have already strangled the unfortunate child. He would never have tolerated the Tian family making a fool of themselves in the celestial realm again.
Tianfeng seemed somewhat excited as he asked, "Father, what do you mean? Are you really willing to include this child in the family genealogy?"
The old man sighed and said, "It's all because you are the future heir of the imperial family. He is your son, and your blood flows in his veins. Otherwise, I would never have agreed! Very well, I will give him a name then!"
A cold smile crept across the old man's lips. He suddenly transmitted his voice to Han Rou, saying, "How about I name him Tianmiao?"
"Heaven..." Han Rou frowned, unable to utter the last word for a long time. She tried to suppress the anger in her heart and asked in a hoarse voice, "Father, your daughter-in-law is foolish and does not know what the last word is?" She no longer called him "father." She thought that calling him "father" would sound more intimate. She had called him that ever since she married into the imperial family. But she never thought that he only regarded her as a joke. Why should she try to get close to him?
The old man narrowed his eyes slightly, a sharp glint flashing in them. He didn't speak, but walked to the table. Without picking up a pen, he simply wrote two words on his own in the blink of an eye.
The Xuan paper floated slightly and came to Han Rou.
Han Rou lowered her eyes to look at the words on the paper, her hands clenched tightly involuntarily, she gritted her teeth, reached out and took the Xuan paper, without saying any goodbye, and turned to leave.
The old man did not stop her, but as Han Rou reached the door, he transmitted a cold voice and said, "You must remember, it was you who asked me to name him! Since I acknowledge his bloodline as a member of the imperial family, and since you asked me to name him, whatever the name, it is already decided! You'd better be smart; unless you are not a member of the imperial family, you cannot disobey!"
Han Rou paused slightly, but without turning around, she transmitted her voice, "Thank you, Father, for naming my son. This name proves that you are a wicked grandfather. This name will grow up with my son, so that he will understand everything, lest you pretend to be a kind grandfather and deceive him if he becomes successful!"
"Promising? Do you think that's possible? That's ridiculous! It's a miracle he even lived past ten!" the old man sneered in his voice.
Han Rou didn't say anything more and strode away. Tian Feng looked back at his parents and followed her.
