A hint of self-mockery flickered in his blue eyes as he coldly said, "Is it really that unbelievable? Didn't I already tell you I'm a spirit? Do you really think you can hit me without a body?"

Tianxie looked up at him and seemed to sense a trace of desolation and loneliness in his blue eyes.

"What? Nobody's cursing you now, so why are you pretending to be mute!" he said casually, but his eyes were evasive. The child's gaze seemed to have a penetrating power, making him feel uneasy as if he had been seen through.

Tianxie suddenly smiled sweetly, "Squat down."

"What?" He pursed his lips, crossed his arms, and looked like he couldn't be bothered with Tianxie. But for some reason, perhaps out of curiosity about what this little girl was up to, he slowly squatted down and looked her in the eye.

Tianxie's smile grew even brighter as he looked at the person who was now as tall as him after squatting down and reached out to touch him.

"What are you doing!" He instinctively backed away.

Tianxie asked with amusement, "Aren't you a spirit? Aren't you without a body? Aren't you someone I can't touch? Then why are you hiding? Are you afraid?"

"Fear? Ridiculous! I'm not hiding, I just find it strange that you knew I was a spirit without a body, so why did you still reach out and touch me? Didn't you already know that pouncing on me would only result in empty air?"

Tianxie didn't answer, but continued to reach out and stroke his face.

He paused for a moment, then stopped dodging, a hint of bewilderment in his blue eyes.
