Primordial Era: Becoming the Great Emperor of Humanity from the Start

Chapter 1: Transmigrating Here, Five Saints Achieve Enlightenment!

Chapter 1: Transmigrating Here, Five Saints Attain Enlightenment!

Jiang Heng slowly opened his eyes, looking around in confusion. This was not a place he remembered.

Where am I? Why am I here? Didn't I just have a car accident? Is this a hallucination?

Suddenly, an old man riding an ox appeared before Jiang Heng. The old man rose into the air and said loudly:

"I am Laozi of the Great Purity. Today I establish the 'Cult of Humanity' to educate and enlighten the human race. May Heaven bear witness!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Heaven sensed his presence and bestowed boundless merit upon him, which merged into Laozi's body.

"I am Laozi, and I have now become a saint! From this day forward, I am the Supreme Celestial Venerable of the Great Purity!"

In an instant, heaven and earth trembled, purple mist filled the sky, and colorful clouds appeared above Lao Tzu's head, which was already the sign of a sage.

The instant after Lao Tzu became a saint, two more mighty voices rang out.

"I am the Primordial Beginning of Jade Purity. Today, I shall establish the 'Chan Sect' to expound the ultimate principles of Heaven, and let Heaven bear witness!"

"I am the Supreme Purity One who reaches the Heavens. Today, I shall establish the 'Intercepting Sect' to seize a sliver of heavenly secrets, and let Heaven bear witness!"

Similarly, Heaven, moved by the will of Heaven, bestowed boundless merit, and numerous extraordinary phenomena appeared, leading to Yuanshi and Tongtian attaining the position of sages.

"I am the Primordial Beginning, and I have now attained sainthood! From this day forward, I am the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable!"

"I am Tongtian, and I have now become a saint! From this day forward, I am the Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun!"

On the earth, countless beings knelt and bowed, shouting: "Congratulations to the Daoist Taiqing/Yuqing/Shangqing for attaining sainthood! May the saint live a long and prosperous life!"

Lao Tzu? Yuanshi Tianzun? Tongtian Jiaozhu? Is this the Three Pure Ones attaining enlightenment? Is this the primordial world?

Jiang Heng gazed at the strange phenomena filling the sky and listened to the vast sounds of heaven and earth, falling into a state of extreme shock.

Before Jiang Heng could recover, two more Taoist priests spoke in unison from Mount Sumeru in the western land:

"I am Zhunti/Jieyin, and today I establish the Western Religion to relieve the suffering of all beings and universally deliver them from misery. May Heaven bear witness!"

Boundless merit descended, and extraordinary phenomena filled the sky. Zhunti and Jieyin's cultivation levels began to rise steadily, striving towards the realm of sainthood.

But gradually, the merits bestowed by Heaven became less and less, leaving Zhunti and Jieyin somewhat powerless to continue.

Just then, in the western lands, Zhunti and Jieyin spoke loudly once more:

"When I become a Buddha, there will be no hells, hungry ghosts, birds and beasts in my precious land, not even the like that of flying silk or crawling insects. I will not become a Buddha until I obtain this vow. This is my first vow."

When I attain Buddhahood, the happiness experienced by the people in my Buddha-field will be the same as that of a fully enlightened monk. This is the fifteenth vow.

When I attain Buddhahood, the Bodhisattvas in that instant will be able to expound all the Dharma, their eloquence and command will be immeasurable. Without this vow, I will never attain Buddhahood. This is the thirty-eighth vow.

When I attain Buddhahood, all beings in my Buddha-field will attain the state of right faith, be free from distorted views, be free from discrimination, have pure senses, and reach the ultimate state of Nirvana. Without this aspiration, I will never attain Buddhahood.

Zhunti and Jieyin made a total of forty-eight great vows, and the Heavenly Dao, moved by their vows, bestowed upon them boundless merit, enabling them to attain the status of saints.

On the vast, primordial land, countless beings once again knelt and bowed, shouting, "Congratulations to the Daoist Zhunti/Jieyin on attaining sainthood! May the saint live forever!"

Zhunti? Jieyin? Aren't those two guys from the Western Sect?

The actions of Zhunti and Jieyin can be considered unprecedented in history. Making a grand vow to attain enlightenment is tantamount to borrowing from the Heavenly Dao? Is it acceptable to consume in advance?

Even if one attains enlightenment now, one will still have to repay the karmic debts in the future. Otherwise, one might not even be able to keep one's position as a sage.

Therefore, although Zhunti and Jieyin attained enlightenment, their foundations were unstable, making them the weakest among the saints.

"I just had a car accident, how did I end up in the prehistoric world?" Jiang Heng wondered in confusion.

Jiang Heng was not a primordial being; he was born in a later era and was originally a struggling young entrepreneur.

After years of hard work and perseverance, he finally succeeded in starting his own business and was about to reach the pinnacle of his life when he was unexpectedly involved in a car accident.

On his deathbed, Jiang Heng saw a dazzling light. In the dim light, he seemed to hear a voice.

"The Great Dao is fifty, Heaven evolves into forty-nine, and humanity escapes to one."

When Jiang Heng woke up again, he found himself in the prehistoric world, and he happened to witness the grand scene of the Five Sages attaining enlightenment.

With the enlightenment of the Three Pure Ones and the Western Sect, the era of sages has officially begun today.

"Then who am I? Am I a human?"

Jiang Heng quickly figured out his current situation: after transmigrating to the prehistoric world, he was still a human.

Moreover, Jiang Heng was among the first humans created by the sage Nuwa, and is considered a leader among the current human race.

Nuwa, the sage, created the human race and thus attained the status of a sage, but after creating the human race, she abandoned all responsibility for it.

Even now, the primordial land is still in an era of war between witches and demons, and danger lurks everywhere.

Whether it's the monstrous demon race that preys on humans or the powerful primordial beasts, the human race is still in its infancy, and the situation is predictable.

Without cultivation methods or powerful backers, the human race could only rely on their indomitable will to struggle for survival on the primordial land.

Now, although the human race is weak, it has grown to hundreds of millions.

"No! The arrival of the Age of Saints, doesn't that mean the Third Lich War is imminent?"

Jiang Heng's expression changed as he thought of the epic battle that would soon follow.

In that great war, heaven and earth shattered, and countless lives perished. How could the human race, living on the primordial land, escape unscathed?

More importantly, it seems the demon race intends to use humans to forge the Witch-Slaying Sword, and countless humans will perish as a result.

As a member of the human race, how could Jiang Heng possibly escape unscathed in this catastrophe that swept across the entire prehistoric world?

What should we do? What should we do? Should we cower in fear and wait for the catastrophe to end? Is that even possible?

Suddenly, Jiang Heng looked at the Taiqing Sage Laozi not far away and wondered if he should quickly cling to the sage's coattails.

As long as he clings to the sage's coattails, the calamity of the war between the lich and the demon will naturally not affect Jiang Heng in the slightest.

However, according to Jiang Heng's knowledge, the Taiqing Sage Laozi seemed to have only taken one disciple among the human race, who was named Xuandu Grand Master.

"Now that I have established a religion among the human race, as its leader, I have the responsibility to educate and enlighten humanity. Today, I will preach for a thousand years to atone for my karmic debt!"

The sage Laozi descended into the human race, looked at the billions of humans before him, and spoke loudly.

Countless humans prostrated themselves on the ground, expressing their gratitude for the sage's teachings. Only then did the Supreme Sage Laozi speak, proclaiming in a loud voice:

"The Tao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Tao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name. Nameless, it is the origin of Heaven and Earth; named, it is the mother of all things."

A profound Daoist voice came from the source, and Jiang Heng was slightly startled. Was this the Tao Te Ching? Jiang Heng couldn't help but look up towards the direction from which the Daoist voice came.

How could a sage preach the Way in an ordinary way? Strange phenomena descended from the sky: purple clouds came from the east for thirty thousand miles, thousands of dazzling lights hung down, heavenly flowers fell in disarray, and golden springs gushed from the earth.

As the Sage Taiqing began to preach, countless humans were immersed in the profound Daoist principles, and their own cultivation levels began to rise steadily.

Only Jiang Heng looked anxious. A sage was preaching—what an extraordinary opportunity! But Jiang Heng couldn't understand it.

Jiang Heng was just an ordinary person from the future who had just transmigrated and knew nothing about cultivation methods. How could he possibly understand the teachings of a sage?

"I'm doomed! I can't even understand the sage's teachings, yet I want to become a disciple of the Taiqing Sage? Isn't that just wishful thinking?" Jiang Heng thought dejectedly.

Although the Sage Taiqing accepted humans as disciples only to repay the karma of the human race, not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry could become his disciple.

Just as Jiang Heng was agonizing over this, a mighty voice resounded in his mind:

"A strong desire has been detected from the host. The Human Race Development System has been activated and is now bound to the host. Please check it yourself!"

Human Race Development System? Sure enough! A system is the standard equipment for transmigrators, and Jiang Heng was overjoyed.

"What is the Human Race Development System?" Jiang Heng asked impatiently in his mind.

"The so-called Human Race Development System is actually a system that helps the host develop the human race. The better the human race develops, the more rewards the host will receive."

Conversely, if the human race weakens, the host will receive fewer rewards, and may even eventually break the system binding! The system's voice rang out.

Jiang Heng was slightly startled. Develop the human race? If the human race weakens, there's also the risk of breaking the system's binding?

However, the great calamity of the Lich King is just around the corner, and the human race will inevitably suffer heavy losses as a result. Wouldn't that mean the decline of the human race?

Although the era of human prosperity will arrive after the Lich Calamity, Jiang Heng cannot wait until then.

Once the system is unbound, how can Jiang Heng, a mere transmigrator, survive in this prehistoric world where powerful beings roam freely?

No! We absolutely cannot allow the human race to suffer heavy losses and fall into a state of decline.

Demon race? Hmph! No matter how powerful the demon race is, Jiang Heng will lead the human race to carve out a bright and clear world.

"How can the system help me develop the human race?" Jiang Heng asked after a moment's thought.

Now, the system is Jiang Heng's only reliance. Only by relying on the system can Jiang Heng lead the human race through the great calamity of the Lich King.

Moreover, since the goal is for Jiang Heng to develop the human race, the system should definitely provide him with some assistance.

"The system shop has been opened in the human race development system. The host only needs to develop the human race to obtain luck value."

With luck points, the host can exchange them for various treasures in the system shop!

System Shop? Jiang Heng couldn't wait to open the system shop and sure enough, he saw a dazzling array of exchange options.

All sorts of rare and precious materials, all sorts of magical treasures, and all sorts of cultivation techniques.

Jiang Heng was dumbfounded, wishing he could exchange all these treasures for them, but he didn't forget that exchanging these things required luck points.

"How much luck do I have now?" Jiang Heng asked impatiently.

"The host can simply summon their personal panel with their thoughts to learn about their current luck value!"

Jiang Heng quickly opened his personal panel, and his information appeared accordingly:

"Host: Jiang Heng!"

Cultivation level: Mortal!

Physical constitution: Born human!

Luck value: 2!

Only 2 points of luck? What kind of treasure can you exchange for with that? Isn't this a joke?

Just as Jiang Heng was feeling somewhat dejected, his 2 points of luck suddenly jumped to 3 points.

"System! What's going on? Why has my luck value suddenly increased?"
