Traversing countless worlds from the primordial era

Chapter 23 Five Elements Pine Nuts, Enemies to Achieving Enlightenment!

Lei Ming swallowed four Foundation Establishment Pills, and all five of his cultivation techniques successfully broke through to the Foundation Establishment stage. After the breakthrough, Lei Ming did not immediately leave seclusion; he continued to cultivate intermediate-level spells. The superior cultivation room was rich in spiritual energy, far better than where Lei Ming usually lived.

After breaking through to the Foundation Establishment stage, Lei Ming felt a transformation occurring from the inside out. His primordial spirit power increased several times over, and his magical power increased dozens of times.

Having reached the Foundation Establishment stage, Lei Ming could use his spiritual sense to introspect. He looked at his dantian, which seemed to be a vortex, constantly absorbing spiritual energy. In the very center of his dantian, there was something the size of a pine nut. At first, Lei Ming thought he was seeing things, but later he discovered that there was indeed something in his dantian.

Lei Ming was startled at first. The dantian is second only to the sea of consciousness in the importance of a cultivator. If the dantian is destroyed, he can only be reborn by possessing another body.

"What exactly is it?"

Lei Ming's spiritual sense penetrated deep into his dantian and finally saw it clearly. However, the moment his spiritual sense touched that thing, it was instantly swallowed up, and Lei Ming's primordial spirit was torn apart by an unknown force.

His primordial spirit was damaged, and Lei Ming fainted from the pain. He didn't know how much time had passed, but when he woke up again, he found that his primordial spirit was trapped.

Lei Ming was extremely panicked and only managed to calm himself down after a long struggle. He tried several times to break free from the unknown constraints, but failed each time; his primordial spirit remained sealed in some place.

Having failed to achieve his goal, Lei Ming simply put aside other thoughts and focused on cultivation. He absorbed the five elements of spiritual energy like a whale swallowing its prey. A vortex of spiritual energy appeared out of thin air in the cultivation room, and the area affected by the vortex grew wider and wider, impacting the adjacent cultivation room.

The vortex of spiritual energy alerted the stewards outside, but since every cultivation room was closed, the stewards could not break down the doors and therefore could not find the source.

Several months passed, and Lei Ming finally felt his body again. He attempted to break through once more, but a sudden change occurred.

Within Lei Ming's dantian, a five-colored pine cone leaped out from the sea of spiritual energy. The tiny pine cone spun leisurely on the sea of spiritual energy, and in an instant, a powerful force descended, completely devouring the spiritual energy within Lei Ming's body before calming down. At this moment, Lei Ming's primordial spirit also returned to his spiritual platform and sea of consciousness.

Lei Ming's face turned pale, his whole body trembled, and he slumped to the ground, completely powerless. But his eyes shone with disbelief and joy!

"I never imagined I would have such good fortune. First I obtained the Kunlun Mirror, and then I obtained the origin of the Five Elements Pine!" Lei Ming's lips trembled slightly as he exclaimed inwardly. He finally understood why he had such talent in the Five Elements Dao.

The pine nut in Lei Ming's dantian was the origin of the Five Elements Pine, an innate spiritual root. As the pine nut awakened, Lei Ming also learned the cause and effect.

Fragments of memories flooded Lei Ming's mind...

In the primordial world, at Nanming Volcano, after the great war between the three races, the Phoenix Ancestor slept. Several eons passed, and the Phoenix Ancestor awoke. He discovered the Five Elements Pine in Nanming Volcano and forcibly plundered the Five Elements Origin. The Five Elements Origin merged with the Phoenix Qi, giving birth to a giant egg.

The Five Elements Pine possessed an innate spiritual root, ranking alongside innate gods and demons, but its transformation occurred later, making it no match for the Phoenix Ancestor. However, the Five Elements Pine had immense potential, being an innate master of the Five Elements Dao of the Primordial World. Even if it couldn't attain the Primordial Chaos Realm, becoming a Quasi-Saint wouldn't be difficult. Faced with the Phoenix Ancestor's suppression, the Five Elements Pine was extremely unwilling. It exposed its true form, forcibly sending away half of its Five Elements Origin. This half of the Five Elements Origin transformed into Five Elements Pine Seeds, which were obtained by Lei Ming.

The image then disappears.

"So this is how things work out." Lei Ming sighed. "That giant egg must be Kong Xuan's. In that case, Kong Xuan obtained half of the Five Elements Origin, and I obtained the other half. If we want to attain the Great Dao of the Five Elements, we must obtain each other's Five Elements Origin. Moreover, having received the Five Elements Pine's gift, I will definitely have to settle the karmic debt for him in the future."

Lei Ming never expected that he, a mere acquired human, would be destined to be Kong Xuan as his opponent.

Lei Ming was naturally aware of Kong Xuan's prowess. Kong Xuan had not yet become famous, but during the Investiture of the Gods, his five-colored divine light shocked the heavens and earth, and even a Western sage was swept away by Kong Xuan due to a moment of carelessness.

Thinking of Kong Xuan's prowess, Lei Ming naturally felt a little uneasy. He and Kong Xuan were enemies who had achieved enlightenment, and they were absolutely irreconcilable.

"Peacock is powerful, but I won't be weaker than him!" Lei Ming quickly rallied his fighting spirit. "With the Kunlun Mirror in hand and half of the Five Elements Origin, I will definitely fight Kong Xuan to the death in the future Investiture of the Gods, and determine the Great Dao of the Five Elements!"

The Five Elements Pine Nut is formed from the origin of the Five Elements. As soon as it awakens, it immediately devours a large amount of Five Elements spiritual power, which is much more significant than when Lei Ming cultivates.

The fluctuations in spiritual energy alerted Lei Wanhe, who was nearby, and he came to investigate. Fortunately, the thunder quickly isolated the Five Elements Pine Nuts, and the fluctuations in spiritual energy gradually subsided.

Outside, Lei Wanhe frowned, the fluctuations of spiritual energy subsided, and there were no changes in the celestial phenomena.

"Could it be that the breakthrough failed?"

Lei Wanhe checked several more times but still found nothing. He then transformed into a long rainbow and headed towards the mountain where the sect leader resided.

Lei Ming stabilized his cultivation and left the cultivation room. Although he was only at the early stage of Foundation Establishment, his magical power was no less than that of someone at the middle stage of Foundation Establishment because he was also practicing the Five Elements Technique.

"Senior brother... Uncle-Master!" The steward in charge of the cultivation room saw Lei Ming and was about to greet him, but upon sensing Lei Ming's aura, he immediately changed his address.

"Congratulations on your successful Foundation Establishment, Martial Uncle!" the steward said eagerly, though a hint of jealousy lurked in his eyes.

"What happened here?" Lei Ming looked around and saw many disciples gathered here.

The steward hurriedly said, "Some time ago, for some unknown reason, there was a fluctuation of spiritual energy on the mountain. Just now, the fluctuation became very strong, which even alarmed Master Lei on the mountain."

Lei Ming listened and nodded calmly. This fluctuation of spiritual energy was likely caused by the Five Elements Pine Nuts. He hadn't expected it to attract the attention of a Core Formation cultivator.

After successfully establishing his foundation, Lei Ming followed the usual procedure and first went to report to the sect leader. Zhong Lingdao, the sect leader of Huangfeng Valley, was quite surprised to see him achieve foundation establishment. Zhong Lingdao remembered Lei Ming, after all, he had joined Huangfeng Valley through the Ascension Tournament arena battle. Moreover, Zhong Lingdao also knew that Lei Ming had five elemental spiritual roots and knew that he had obtained several Foundation Establishment Pills.

"Junior Brother Lei has successfully established his foundation! Congratulations! To establish his foundation with five elemental spiritual roots, if word gets out, Junior Brother Lei will probably become famous throughout the cultivation world," Zhong Lingdao exclaimed in amazement.

Lei Ming smiled; to him, the type of spiritual root was no longer of any significance.

Zhong Lingdao wrote Lei Ming's name on the roster jade disc of Huangfeng Valley and then took care of other miscellaneous tasks. Lei Ming didn't chat with him much and left quickly.

"A foundation built with five elemental spiritual roots, that's incredibly lucky," Zhong Lingdao remarked to himself after Lei Ming left.

Han Li carefully cultivated and refined the spiritual herbs for Foundation Establishment Pills in the Hundred Herbs Garden, while waiting for news from Lei Ming. He had thought Lei Ming would break through soon, but unexpectedly, more than half a year had passed.

A five-colored rainbow light flew in from afar. Han Li was still in the herb garden when he saw the rainbow light, and his heart stirred.

"Brother Han, it's been a long time!" Lei Ming's cheerful voice rang out, and Han Li's face lit up with joy. He quickly went out to greet him.

In the blink of an eye, the five-colored rainbow disappeared, and Lei Ming appeared in front of Han Li.

"Brother Lei, you succeeded!" Han Li exclaimed excitedly.

Lei Ming nodded and smiled, "I'm sorry to have kept Brother Han waiting. Actually, my breakthrough went very smoothly, but the later things took some effort."

Lei Ming told Han Li about his experience of establishing his foundation, and Han Li carefully noted it down.

"I plan to open up a cave dwelling soon. Brother Han, come with me. With a cave dwelling, things will be much more convenient in the future," Lei Ming said.

Han Li nodded, then looked back at the herb garden, feeling a pang of reluctance.

"Brother Lei, please open up the cave first. I'd like to say goodbye to Uncle Ma. Although he's aloof, he's been very kind to me," Han Li said.

"Alright, I plan to choose this location for the cave dwelling."

Lei Ming took out a map, pointed at it, and Han Li looked at it without saying anything.

Ever since Lei Ming took the Foundation Establishment Pill, Wang Song had been keeping a close eye on him. Since the Ascension Conference ended, their enmity had deepened. Although Lei Ming hadn't come looking for him, Wang Song believed that Lei Ming hadn't forgotten about it.
