Chapter 15 Transformation

Chapter 15 Transformation

"Link, I heard someone threatened you yesterday?"

Upon entering the classroom, Link had barely sat down when Molly Kidman, unusually early, plopped down next to him, and asked with great interest.

"Yes, that's true. How did you know?"

Link didn't take his eyes off the book, and nodded casually.

"Oh, don't worry about how I knew."

Jasmine gave a soft snort, leaning her head closer and staring intently at Link's face, a hint of nervousness hidden deep in her eyes. "So what do you think? Shouldn't you keep your distance from me, stay away from me?"

As she spoke, Jasmine's little face scrunched up, revealing a pitiful expression. She feigned tears and cried, "Waaah... I've attracted too much attention, I'm a bad girl, and I've caused Link trouble. He won't want me anymore, waaaah... What should I do?"

"If you have nothing to do, read more books."

Link glanced at the quirky, dramatic Jasmine and said irritably, "If you don't want to read, please don't bother me, okay?"

"oh."

Seeing that Link still seemed indifferent but not completely aloof, Jasmine felt relieved and stopped making a fuss. She sat down obediently, opened her book, and began to preview her lessons.

Last night, when she returned to her dorm, she chatted with one of her girlfriends using her personal smart device. When she heard about this, she was genuinely worried that Link would distance himself from her in the future.

She knew perfectly well how much this guy disliked getting into trouble.

But she also knew that this guy was steady and reliable, though a bit dull, focused solely on his studies and lacking in fun.

No matter how much she flirted with him, he remained unmoved, always ignoring her, and only occasionally opening up on matters that might involve his personal safety.

For example, yesterday I accompanied her to a picnic and social event at the "New Blood Mutual Aid Association".

Thinking this way, Jasmine also began to reflect on herself.

Link repeatedly advised her to focus her attention on studying rather than socializing and entertainment.

She never takes it seriously enough, thinking that she has already studied so hard, what's wrong with having some fun and making friends occasionally?

Ultimately, it was her own mindset that failed to change in time.

Back in the Quete Islands, she was the daughter of a wealthy, leisurely, and high-status noble family, while most nobles were keen on socializing and entertainment.

But now, she is a new blood who will be treated like a slave and ruthlessly exploited if she doesn't become a formal wizard within four years. How can she still arrange her time and life with the mentality of an aristocrat?

Can making a few fair-weather friends really be of much help?

Jasmine recalled instances of nobles smiling to her face but stabbing her in the back, and suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, filled with lingering fear.

If it weren't for yesterday's incident, which made her see the true nature of the "New Blood Mutual Aid Association" as a pimp hidden under the banner of "mutual help," and made her reflect in time, would she have increasingly neglected the importance of studying and become addicted to socializing and entertainment?

Like those wealthy women who were initially excited about banquets and dances, saying they were just trying it out, but eventually became addicted to the thrill of adultery, they fell into the abyss of desire, unable to escape and find redemption.

Perhaps, if that were to happen, Link would stay away from her on his own, without anyone needing to threaten or force him?

"Link, thank you."

Jasmine, still shaken, said softly.

At least for now, this trouble-averse guy hasn't distanced himself from her in advance because of the highly likely trouble that might arise.

Link didn't respond, he focused on reading.

……

In the days that followed, Jasmine underwent a very significant transformation.

Not only did he miss several events organized by the "New Blood Mutual Aid Association," but he also changed his daily routine, getting up early every day to go to the classroom in advance to preview his lessons.

After dinner in the evening, instead of going to the various entertainment venues in the college, they spent time in the library with Link.

Wandering among the books in the library, Jasmine realized how lacking in knowledge and experience she had been before.

As her inner world gradually became richer, she experienced the joy of learning.

For Link, Jasmine's change came somewhat suddenly, but he was happy to see it happen.

At least you won't have to deal with a bewitching little girl who's always acting cute and charming towards you, and occasionally uses some awkward flirting techniques to attract your attention.

If it weren't for the "Brain Closure Technique" of the Wisdom Sword, Link felt that his Dao heart would be corrupted by the witch sooner or later.

Learning together and making progress together, that's wonderful.

……

Just like that, two weeks flew by.

For the past two weeks, Link has been as disciplined as before, staying only in his dormitory, cafeteria, teaching building, and library, and not going anywhere else.

The only difference is that, under his influence, Jasmine also began to lead a monotonous but fulfilling life, going back and forth between home and work.

Knowledge accumulates continuously, and meditation is practiced daily.

His mental strength gradually increased, and the magical power his body could contain gradually increased as well.

Even without practicing methods specifically for tempering the body with magic, the changes in the body are still very obvious under the combined nourishment of water-based and wood-based magic.

Link has grown much taller, from being about the same height as Molly Kidman to now being a head taller than her.

Jasmine was actually just entering puberty. In the high-element-concentration environment of the main continent, and with the help of Link's meditation techniques that were constantly improving, she was also growing rapidly.

The young girl is already 1.65 meters tall.

Link, on the other hand, has grown to 1.8 meters tall.

This prompted Jasmine to constantly ask, "What delicious food did you eat? How did you grow so fast and so tall?"

Besides his size, Link's muscles have become smooth and defined, with a strong sense of line, and his physique is perfect, showing both strength and beauty without being too big or bulky.

In hand-to-hand combat alone, Link felt he could take on ten of himself before he even left the Quetzal Islands.

Even Viscount Holloway's knights were not as physically strong as Link.

Indeed, there is a reason why the knight system is considered a failed product of the wizarding world.

Rivers Francis, the vice president of the "New Blood Mutual Aid Society" who had been secretly keeping an eye on Link, was annoyed.

Not only did Molly Kidman stop participating in the "New Blood Mutual Aid Society" activities, but she also spent all her time with Link Grand, clearly showing that she didn't take Rivers Francis seriously at all.

Sometimes, Rivers really wanted to burn Link Grand to death and then unleash his lust!

But the ubiquitous intelligent law enforcement puppets in the academy forced Rivers to suppress his thoughts and wait for an opportunity.

Despite his burly and rugged appearance, Enrique was not upset at all.

The more anxious Rivers became, the happier he was.
