Chapter 60. A Belated Revenge
Chapter 60. A Revenge Ten Years Late (The End)
"Do you remember when I took you to Diagon Alley? Gringotts was robbed that day, and I was the thief. I stole a cup that his father used to use from his vault as a means to find him."
I came to Hogwarts to find him and get revenge. As for the fact that some young wizards were attacked by dark magic, and those children blamed me for it, I didn't care at all.
I searched for three months in the castle, looking in almost every part of Hogwarts, but I still couldn't find him.
Just before Christmas, I finally realized that he hadn't hidden the castle at all, but had instead hidden in the Forbidden Forest.
He seemed to know I was coming, otherwise he wouldn't have used the Imperius Curse to control the centaur and the unicorn beforehand.
"But the result was not bad. I killed him. Although I was going to die too, after avenging myself, there was no point in living anymore. Dying like this is a fitting end for me."
Professor Fox seemed to know he was about to die, and he began to ramble on, telling Lynn all about his plans after his death.
"By the way, there's a tapestry on the eighth floor of the castle. If you need a certain room, just think about it in front of the wall opposite the tapestry, then walk back and forth three times. A door will appear on that wall. Open it and go in, and that's the room you need."
I found this by chance at Hogwarts; you might need it if you ever want to find a place to practice spells.
Even after I die, you must not neglect your practice of dark magic. You have a truly exceptional talent for it, so don't waste it. There's a will I've written in my office drawer, a will meant for outsiders. In it, I've designated you as my sole heir.
The entire Fox family's wealth is in my Gringotts vault, along with various books on dark magic. There are quite a few there too. You can go there and take your time to inventory them.
Besides the will that's publicly known, I tampered with the parchment that contains it. When you get it, two addresses will appear on the back. One is in England, which is my former home. There's a lot of research material there about war magic and black magic enhancements and their various uses. You'll need it later.
The other address is in Iceland, that's where my wife, friends, and I used to work—that's the most important place. Lynn, you absolutely must listen to me now and remember every word I say!
Professor Fox's breathing became rapid; his body was now cold, and he was becoming somewhat delirious.
"That laboratory holds the results of our revolutionary improvements to black magic. It's not just black magic, it's a huge change for all spells. We tried to remove the wizard's emotions as a necessary condition for casting spells. Although we didn't succeed, we're not far from it."
It's an old house. You can open the lock on the door with a lock-picking spell. Once inside, go to the kitchen and turn on the tap. The tap won't produce water, but it will cause a mural to appear on the innermost wall on the second floor. It depicts a hunchbacked old witch with a hooked nose. Stand in front of her and be sure to recite these names in order: Antonin Vigo, Gareth Landrock, Isaac Mazlassi, Adorfi Challet, Eliza Balti.
After the names are read out, the old witch will ask who they are. You should tell her that they are people who are either dead or not.
Then a door will appear on the wall. Open the door and go inside. There will be a large room with many books and parchment, but those are not important. Just say to the empty room, "Can someone sing me a song?" A teapot, a cup, and a spoon will sing you a happy birthday song. These three things know all the research information. If you want to know anything, just ask them after they finish singing.
Originally, I didn't want to leave that laboratory to you. My friend went insane because of that research. But since you came to the Forbidden Forest and found me, this is probably fate. It would be best if you could understand that research in the future. If you can't, just forget about it. Even if you succeed in the end, it might not be a good thing...
Professor Fox's voice grew weaker and weaker, and Lynn's strength was almost exhausted. He gritted his teeth and made every effort to move towards Hogwarts.
"I didn't remember a single word you said. Who can remember such a complicated process after hearing it only once? If you don't want your research to be hidden there forever, go get it yourself! Don't count on me. I'm just a good-for-nothing who's just waiting to die. I'll spend your money, live in your house, and live a life of debauchery every day. I won't learn any dark magic and see if you still want to die!"
"You won't...you won't..." Professor Fox's voice began to break again.
He has not only lost too much blood, but his consciousness has also begun to blur. The fact that he has not died immediately is because wizards are physically stronger than ordinary people.
Lynn turned around and looked at Professor Fox, noticing that he was pale and had his eyes closed. He immediately cried out in alarm.
"Professor! You can't sleep! If you sleep, you'll really die! We're almost at Hogwarts! You'll get better when we get there! You'll get better. Snape, that shameless guy, has all kinds of potions; he'll heal you. And Madam Pomfrey, her medical skills are superb; she won't let you die!"
However, no matter how Lynn called out, Professor Fox did not respond to him.
Lynn collapsed into the muddy water in despair.
Having been in this world for so long, he has always been observing the people around him with a cold eye.
While he was in the orphanage, some people were kind to him, but Lynn wasn't blind; they were almost all after the inheritance his parents left him.
He had had enough of that place, so he voluntarily gave up some of his property and seized on someone's weakness. Through a combination of persuasion and coercion, he finally escaped from that orphanage where he felt no warmth whatsoever.
Although he had only spent six months with Professor Fox, he was the only person who had been kind to Lynn almost selflessly since he came into this world.
But he's about to die.
Lynn silently watched the professor's breathing grow weaker and weaker, her mind blank.
Just then, a golden light suddenly shone beside him!
A fiery red bird with a white beard and crescent-shaped glasses came to Lynn's side.
Lynn stared in shock at the sudden appearance of Professor Dumbledore, but quickly recovered.
"Professor! Look at Professor Fox, he's dying!"
Professor Fox's story is finished. If you gentlemen found this enjoyable, please consider casting a few votes. Since I'm currently featured on the recommendation page, your votes and continued reading are very important to me, so thank you very much!
