Chapter 511, Chapter 508: The Male Waiter at Pig's Head Bar
Hermione led Ron and Harry to the front of a dirty bar.
A dilapidated wooden sign hangs on a rusty frame above the door, with a severed pig's head hanging on it, blood seeping through the white cloth wrapped around it.
Ron Harry had heard of the famous Pighead Bar long ago.
Their friend Hagrid really liked coming to this place.
This place isn't like the Three Brooms Bar, with its delicious butterbeer, clean and tidy environment, or pretty bar owner.
But it is precisely because of its dirty and gloomy environment that many shady characters gather here.
They all like to conduct some shady, even explicitly illegal, transactions here.
Hagrid once bought a dragon egg from someone at this bar when they were in first grade.
The owner of Pig Head Bar was an old man who seemed to have an eccentric temper. He was tall and thin, with long, gray hair and beard.
But even though he was a disheveled old man, Harry always felt that he looked strangely familiar.
It was a strange feeling, and Harry never really looked into it.
The person Lynn recommended to them, and the person Hermione said they would observe in this moral education class, was the owner of this bar.
When Harry and his two friends entered the bar, there wasn't a single customer in the first-floor living room. It was still morning, and there weren't many people drinking at this time.
Meanwhile, the slovenly old man who owned the Pig Head Bar was wiping glasses at the bar with a dirty rag.
"It's not the weekend, and Hogwarts isn't closed for the holidays. Did you naughty kids sneak out?"
"We're having a moral education class, sir," Hermione explained to him. "Professor Fox brought us out. We can stay outside all day, but we have to make a pact with an adult wizard to observe his day and work. We'll use that to write a paper when we get back."
Aberforth gently put down his cup and smiled as he looked at Harry and the others standing in front of the door.
"You mean you're planning to have me as your observation subject today?"
Harry and Ron looked around at the pub and clearly had some reservations about Lynn and Hermione's choice.
Behind her back, they secretly shook their heads quickly at Hermione, signaling her to leave and find another normal wizard in Hogwarts to observe her.
However, Hermione had already stated this with certainty.
"Yes, sir, we would like to invite you to be our subject of observation today."
Harry and Ron looked utterly despairing, but Aberforth's next words brought a smile to their faces.
"I don't want you causing trouble in my shop. What good will it do me to have you following me around and observing me? Get out of here and stop standing at the door and disturbing my business."
Aberforth chased them away, directly rejecting Hermione's suggestion.
However, Hermione had anticipated this, as Lynn had already told her about the eccentric nature of the old man at the Hog's Head.
Just as Harry and Ron turned to leave, Hermione didn't move. She stared at Aberforth and said...
"Someone asked me to tell your husband that he booked your tavern for a day two years ago for 50 Galleons, and he hasn't even spent all that money yet."
Upon hearing Hermione's words, Aberforth paused in his actions.
He looked up at Hermione, frowned, pondered for a moment, and finally shook his head and said.
"In that case, you may stay. But I must warn you, do not disturb my work or my guests, and do not utter a sound about anything you hear or see."
"We can certainly guarantee that, sir," Hermione replied excitedly, while Harry and Ron sighed in disappointment.
They managed to find a reasonably clean spot to sit in the lobby of the Pig's Head Bar.
Then I watched as the slovenly old man kept wiping his wine glass.
Harry whispered in Hermione's ear and asked.
"The guy you just told me spent 50 Galleons to book his tavern for the whole day, could he be Lynn?"
Hermione shook her head.
"I don't know if it was Lynn, but Lynn definitely taught me to say that."
Harry glanced around the bar again, puzzled. Everything, from the tables and chairs to the bar counters and windows, looked filthy, as if covered in grease.
The only clean thing in the entire hall was a painting hanging on the wall, depicting a quiet girl with a serene smile on her face, quietly watching them.
He couldn't see anything different about the bar, and he couldn't understand why Lynn had spent 50 Galleons to book it for the whole day.
Around 1 a.m., the first customer arrived at the bar.
It was a wizard wearing a long black robe, his entire face hidden under a hood.
He asked the slovenly old man at the bar for a glass of whiskey, and then, without bothering with the dirty glass, sat down at the table and slowly began to drink.
From his voice, Harry could tell that he was a rather old wizard.
The life of a bar owner seems incredibly boring. He spends his mornings serving all sorts of customers, selling drinks, and then wiping the bar counter with a rag—a job that can never be truly clean.
Harry and Ron couldn't stay at the table for long and started wandering around the Hog's Head pub.
As noon approached, Aberforth became increasingly busy, and he no longer had time to keep an eye on Harry and the other two.
While Hermione was alone, head down, writing down the bar owner's daily work routine on parchment.
Harry and Ron, who had been strolling around the hotel on the second floor of the bar, suddenly rushed downstairs.
"Guess what we found, Hermione?"
Harry cautiously leaned close to Hermione's ear and whispered something.
Before Hermione could reply, Ron couldn't help but continue.
"We've seen the boss's name! Can you guess what it is?"
Harry continued, finishing his sentence.
"Aberforth Dumbledore! He shares the same last name as Professor Dumbledore!"
Hermione was also somewhat surprised by their discovery.
"Is this bar owner connected to Professor Dumbledore?"
"But the two of them don't look alike at all. This old man is slovenly and smells like mutton." Ron looked at the waiter who was pouring drinks for the guests with some disdain.
Harry said thoughtfully.
"Actually, looking at it this way, the bar owner does look a bit like Professor Dumbledore."
