Chapter 502, Page 499: The Message in the Golden Apple

Building an igloo is not a particularly difficult task for a wizard.

Soon Hermione and Lynn built a simple igloo out of snow on the clearing by the Black Lake.

"Turn the branches into fishing rods, and the fishing line into snow. As for the bait, well, the Gamp Transformation Law is for wizards to follow, so it doesn't matter what we use to turn into fishing bait. Let's just use snow to turn it into bait too."

"On behalf of the fish, I thank you for your great kindness."

Inside the igloo, the cold wind no longer blew in, and Lynn even turned the scepter into a chandelier, which hung from the top of the igloo, making the small space warm and cozy.

Hermione was giving orders, and Lynn did as she was told, finding two branches on the ground.

Just as he pulled his wand from his sleeve, preparing to turn the branch into a fishing rod, the golden apple that had won the first competition suddenly rolled out of his pocket.

Just as Lynn was about to pick it up, it suddenly transformed into a golden radiance, gently floating in the igloo.

Lynn and Hermione were stunned by what they saw. They watched the ball of light float gracefully in mid-air for a while before finally falling back onto the snow.

It transformed into two tiny creatures on the ground, as if performing a stage play, conveying some message to Lynn and Hermione.

"This is a hint for the second competition." Hermione was stunned by the scene before her, and she asked Lynn with wide eyes.

Lynn nodded slightly: "That should be right. The apple changed after it encountered the snow, and it turned into this creature... the Bowtruckle?"

The light and shadow transformed from the golden apple converged on the snow to form a creature that indeed resembled a small sapling, yet it was a magical animal capable of movement.

Lynn had read many miscellaneous books before, so he naturally recognized what this magical creature, which was very common in Europe, was.

The two small bower beetles were playing happily on the snow when suddenly a creature with no upper body but four hooves on its lower body rushed over and carried one of the bower beetles away.

The last remaining Bowtruckle began to search aimlessly, seemingly trying to find its kidnapped companion.

The entire story is very simple, and the information it conveys is also very straightforward for students like Lynn and Hermione.

They quickly deduced what the golden apple was trying to convey to them.

"The Bowtruckle, such a magical creature, can only be found in the Forbidden Forest throughout the entire Hogwarts," Hermione analyzed. "That means your second competition will also take place in the Forbidden Forest."

"If the referees aren't planning to take us out of Hogwarts, then the second match will probably still be in the Forbidden Forest." Lynn stared at the two Bowtruckles repeating their performance on the snow. Their act seemed to have a clear resemblance to the second event in the original story.

The second event in the Triwizard Tournament was to rescue their friends, but now the arena had been transformed into the Forbidden Forest, and the creature that had kidnapped their friend was a four-hoofed being.

"There are four-hoofed creatures in the Forbidden Forest that can kidnap people. The answer is pretty obvious," Li Lin'en muttered to himself.

Even Hermione could guess that, besides centaurs, there were no other creatures that met these criteria and were located in the Forbidden Forest.

"Are these hints telling you that centaurs will kidnap your friend in the Forbidden Forest, and you're going to rescue him?" Hermione watched the two Bowtruckles perform three times in a row before finally understanding the general plot.

"That should be about right." Lynn smiled at Hermione. "You'd better be careful lately, the centaurs might kidnap you and then I'll have to come and rescue you."

Hermione raised her head and said, "I'm not afraid at all."

The two tree-protecting humps, which were formed from golden light, disappeared into thin air after performing five times in a row.

The information provided by the Golden Apple is obviously one-time only. If the Warrior doesn't discover the clues within these 5 times, he won't be able to know the information for the second competition in advance.

This unexpected incident had no impact on Lynn and Hermione's fishing plans for the evening.

Lynn never paid much attention to the Triwizard Tournament.

If it weren't for some unexpected events, he wouldn't have even planned to participate in the first place. Now that he has, no matter what the situation of the competition is, the final result is already determined.

Just as they were about to attach the conjured fishing line to the fishing rod, two furtive heads suddenly peeked out from the doorway of the igloo.

It's Harry and Ron.

They searched almost everywhere around Hogwarts Castle before finally finding Lynn and his friends by the Black Lake.

"You guys actually built an igloo here," Ron exclaimed in amazement.

Hahalize looked at the fishing rods and lines in their hands and scratched his head.

"Are you planning to go fishing?"

"We haven't even started fishing yet, and you two have already shown up here," Hermione said irritably to the two burdens.

Harry and Ron then realized that they seemed to have disturbed Hermione and Lynn's time together.

But Harry couldn't be embarrassed right now, because he had more important things to ask Lynn.

So, in front of Hermione, he told Lynn exactly what he and Ron had overheard in the garden about the conversation between Moody's Snape, Karkaroff, and the other man.

"They say the Mystic has been resurrected. He planned to gather his followers last year, but Professor Dumbledore and the Aurors discovered it, and all his followers were captured, though he himself disappeared. But I remember Lynn was clearly already there when we were in the Forbidden Forest in our first year..."

Harry didn't speak too bluntly because Dumbledore had emphasized to them at the time that they shouldn't tell anyone else about it, and Ron wasn't there at the time and didn't know about it.

Hearing Harry's story, Hermione turned her gaze to Lynn. She knew about Tom, and now that Harry knew so much, she wondered if Lynn would tell Harry about Tom.

Lynn, of course, wouldn't tell Harry about Tom; it was up to Tom herself to decide when to tell Harry the truth.

After listening to Harry's story, Lynn considered whether to use this opportunity to subtly reveal the matter of Voldemort's Horcruxes to Harry, so that Harry could be prepared in advance.
