Chapter 449, Section 446: The Crouching Bat

The Dementor leader showed no reaction to Lynn's provocation.

But Lynn wasn't just talking; as the incantation was uttered once more, the same Guardian Charm that had appeared more than ten times before continued to shine at the tip of his staff.

While the doubled Guardian Charm wasn't enough to summon the complete Guardian, it did produce an explosive orb of light composed of positive emotions, and a Guardian that was completely comparable to that of a normal person.

The immense destructive power contained within the silver light threads is a deadly poison to all Dementors.

The aura emanating from it made them want to avoid it, but they were bound by orders to keep rushing toward Lynn and dying.

Wave after wave, Lynn's guardian spells were cast one after another.

At some point, the Dementors, which had once been everywhere and seemed to fill the entire world, became sparse.

A hazy mist rose around them. An uninformed person might mistake it for a light morning fog, but only those who witnessed the deaths of countless Dementors knew the truth.

This isn't mist at all; it's just the ashes of Dementors that haven't had time to dissipate after they died.

Finally, when the remaining Dementors in the sky were no longer able to mount another attack, their suicide attacks ceased.

Lynn didn't even breathe heavily from beginning to end, but he was really going to wipe out all the Dementors by himself!

The Dementor leader gathered his remaining few hundred Dementors and slowly rose into the sky.

It seemed to have received some order, or perhaps it had already completed its mission and was no longer engaging in this meaningless attack, so it prepared to leave with its surviving subordinates.

Lynn didn't give chase. He had the ability to wipe out these ghostly things, but his intuition told him it was best not to act rashly right now.

Since the other party dared to leave so openly in front of him, it meant they weren't worried about him chasing after them.

Hermione was well protected by Lynn, who had been shielding her from the dementors. After the dementors dispersed, she asked cautiously.

Are we safe now?

Lynn showed no sign of letting his guard down. The cold night wind blew away the ashes left by the dead Dementors, and the surrounding scenery gradually became visible.

"Those Dementors are clearly just cannon fodder; the real danger is yet to come."

Lynn reached out and grabbed Hermione's hand again, holding it tightly.

"Remember, whatever comes out later, it must not stray too far from me."

Hermione nodded obediently. Whether it was due to the Patronus Charm or the warmth conveyed by Lynn's tightly clasped hand, she was no longer as pale and panicked as before, and appeared much calmer.

The very next second after Lynn finished giving Hermione his instructions, four huge shadows suddenly rose up in the four directions around them!

The four identical monsters were enormous, and their four pairs of fleshy wings seemed to cover the entire sky when they were spread out!

Silent screams erupted from all directions, the ghostly sounds seeming to burst directly into Lynn and Hermione's minds.

Hermione clenched her teeth, desperately trying to hold back her screams, while burying her face in Lynn's thin but muscular back.

Lynn remained unfazed by these invisible sound waves, seemingly unaffected, but his face was incredibly gloomy.

He recognized the four monsters in the sky; anyone with even a slight understanding of extremely dangerous magical creatures would recognize these infamous monsters.

Ground bat!

A highly dangerous dark magic creature, with a pitifully small number of them existing in the world. To date, there are only a handful of records of this creature in the magical world.

This is not only because it is rare, but also largely because almost every wizard who has seen such a thing has died.

Normally, groundbats usually attack people who are sleeping, so those who are killed rarely have the opportunity to use magic to deal with them.

Once its prey has been successfully suffocated, the ground bat will eat it on the bed. When it crawls out of the house, it will be a little thicker and fatter than before, but it never leaves a trace of itself or its victim.

This refers to the common ground bat, which is at most half a foot thick and, even if it is large, is only about the size of a cloak, just enough to cover its prey.

The four groundbats that appeared before Lynn were each almost the size of a Quidditch stadium.

This is enough to show how many lives these disgusting things have taken!

Without hesitation, Lynn raised his wand and cast the Patronus Charm once again at the enormous monster that was falling from the sky, trying to engulf him and Hermione.

That's right, these creatures are very difficult to deal with. The only spell that can counter them is the Patronus Charm, just like with Dementors.

The Guardian Angel spell, amplified twice as much, exploded beneath the enormous, dark, fleshy wings that had already enveloped Lynn's head.

This spell, which was originally invincible against Dementors, did cause damage to Groundbats at this time, but its effect was extremely limited.

It only blew a large, bloody wound on the ground bat's fleshy wing, which looked frightening, but in fact, it didn't even blast through the wing.

The next moment, the giant bat folded its wings, while the other three ground bats circled above it, waiting for their prey to suffocate.

Meanwhile, after the groundbat successfully enveloped Lynn and Hermione inside its body.

Wizards continued to reveal themselves from all directions of the wilderness.

They canceled the illusion spells on themselves, returning to normal from stealth mode, while looking at the ground bat that was folding its fleshy wings on the ground with incredibly complex expressions.

These people were present from the very beginning when Lynn was slaughtering the Dementors, and they only showed up now.

Most of them didn't understand the mission at all, and didn't understand why such a big fuss was being made just to target a child who wasn't even an adult yet.

But after witnessing Lynn's immense destructive power against the Dementors and his seemingly inexhaustible stamina, they understood why the Congress was holding such a grand ceremony.

Fortunately, the target was captured before they even had to lift a finger; otherwise, who knows how many casualties would have occurred among them?

However, just as the wizards were feeling relieved, the ground bat suddenly began to struggle violently.

Countless streaks of silver light pierced the darkness like javelins, penetrating its thick, fleshy wings, tearing through the pitch-black night sky, and illuminating the entire world!
