Chapter 436, Section 433: Teapot, Teacup, Spoon
The laboratory is located in a very remote area, in a small fishing village called Ellabaj in southern Iceland.
The village has a permanent population of just over 500, but its infrastructure is quite complete, making it a major port and trading center in the south.
Professor Fox's laboratory is located in a corner of this small village.
From the outside, this house looks no different from other two-story buildings, except that it appears unusually dilapidated and desolate, and passersby seem to ignore it as if it doesn't exist at all.
It was obvious that the house was under an extremely powerful Muggle exorcism spell, and even though no wizards had come to maintain it for so many years, the spell was still in effect.
Lynn approached the door of the house, which had an old lock that looked like it was common 30 years ago and had nothing to do with modern times.
"Alaho Cavern Opens (No Amplification)".
A very simple unlocking spell easily opened the lock.
However, Lynn knew that the lock was just for show; the real protection for the things inside the house involved a rather complicated process.
Back in the Forbidden Forest, Professor Fox recounted the entire process to him in detail.
Although Lynn has a good memory, it's impossible for her to remember so many things so clearly after four years.
Fortunately, he remembered these things and wrote down all the steps on a piece of paper.
A bad pen is worse than a good memory; this is a very good habit.
Lynn walked into the dusty room with the paper in her hand.
The furnishings inside were fairly tidy, indicating that the owner of the house had thoroughly cleaned it before leaving.
But the dust that had accumulated over the years was a thick layer on the ground. Before Lynn had even stepped in, a cloud of "smoke" appeared beneath him, with dust being stirred up everywhere.
Lynn didn't rush to find the laboratory hidden in this room.
He raised his wand and began cleaning the room, using a cleaning charm to clean every corner of the house. Finally, he wiped a magical photograph clean and hung it back on the wall.
It was a black and white photograph, taken a very long time ago, but it had been enchanted with a magic potion, allowing the people in the photograph to move.
There are six people in the photo, four men and two women. They all look quite young when the photo was taken, like young people in their twenties.
The six people stood in a row, each with their arms around the shoulder of the person next to them, looking at the camera with great enthusiasm and vitality.
Lynn immediately recognized the young man standing second from the left as Professor Fox from years ago.
He was handsome back then, but he had already developed a habit of squinting when he smiled, which made him very recognizable.
The other five were all like-minded friends of Professor Fox, and they had been working together here for ten years to research and improve black magic.
But after four of them died in their own research, Professor Fox and his later wife sealed the place away, leaving this place of sorrow far behind.
The magical world's current stable and secure spellcasting system is inseparable from the adventurous attempts and experiments of these explorers.
They were the pioneers of magic, forging ahead through thorns and brambles to explore different directions of magic, until they forged a path that would allow future generations to proceed safely.
After reminiscing about the photograph, Lynn picked up the note in her hand and began preparing to open the laboratory.
He first went to the kitchen and turned on the faucet above the sink.
No water was dripping from the tap, which was not unexpected for Lynn.
He turned and went up the stairs, then walked all the way to a wall at the very back of the second floor.
There, at some unknown time, appeared a portrait of an old witch with a large hooked nose, a face full of age spots, and wrinkles that looked like ravines.
Lynn had already walked through every part of the house when he was cleaning, and he was certain that the painting wasn't on this wall at that time.
Lynn picked up the slip of paper, faced the old witch, and read the names on it one by one in order.
"Antonin Vigo, Gareth Landrock, Isaac Mazlassi, Adorfi Challet, Eliza Balti."
After he finished reading all the names, the old witch's portrait suddenly spoke.
"who are they?"
Lynn answered according to the pre-set answer.
"They are people who are both dead and not dead."
As soon as he finished speaking, a door appeared on the wall with the portrait hanging on it. Lynn pushed the door open without hesitation and entered a room filled with books and parchment.
This room is very large, more than twice the maximum size of the house, which clearly indicates that the homeowner illegally used a traceless expansion spell on the room.
Lynn didn't look at the piles of books and documents; he knew those things weren't important. What was important was the teapot, cups, and spoon set on the table in the middle of the room.
Facing the empty room, he took a deep breath and spoke softly.
"Can you sing me a song?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the teapot, teacups, and spoons on the table started to clatter and jingle.
"Hurra for deg - tekst Hurra for deg som fyller ditt r"
They sang a lovely birthday song, but Lynn couldn't tell what language it was (it was actually Norwegian, and the song was called "Hurra for deg").
After they finished singing the whole song, the teapot, teacup, and spoon all stopped and said lightly.
"Oh my god, how long has it been? How can someone still wake us up?"
"This isn't a bad thing. At least I haven't spoken for over 500 years. I've almost forgotten how to speak English."
"You're exaggerating. We've definitely not been here for 500 years. I'm sure it's only been 100 years at most. Hey kid, what year is it?"
Lynn answered the spoon's question honestly.
"This year is 1995, you haven't been here for a hundred years yet."
The three of them fell silent immediately, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
In the end, it was the mature and steady-looking teapot that broke the awkward silence.
"Alright, no matter how many years we've been asleep, you've woken us up, so as agreed, you'll receive everything we know. So, do you intend for us to recount it verbally, or do you want a written document?"
