Chapter 427, Section 425: Hermione's Dream
Chapter 428, Section 425: Hermione's Dream (Part 1)
Hermione opened her eyes, still a little groggy.
Her eyes held a dazed look, and it wasn't until she stared blankly at a document on the table titled "Case Report on the Ministry of Magic's Specific Implementation of Anti-Corruption Measures at the Grassroots Level" for a long time that she came to her senses.
He subconsciously reached out and touched a delicate pocket watch.
Upon opening the watch case and seeing the family photo of the five people on it, a beautiful smile unconsciously curved her lips.
Just then, someone knocked on the door and came in.
It's Parvati; she's not only Hermione's roommate from her school days, but also her subordinate now.
"Director, are you awake?"
Hermione picked up a damp towel from the shelf next to her and gently wiped her slightly astringent face.
"I just woke up, about three seconds before you came in."
Parvati moved a thick stack of documents onto her desk, saying this with a hint of resentment.
"The newly enacted lunch break law applies to all Ministry of Magic civil servants, so why are you the only one sticking with the old lunch break schedule?"
Hermione sat back down at her desk, flipping through the documents Parvati had sent, and quickly got into work mode.
"I didn't used to take a nap, so a short nap at noon was enough for me."
"Hmph! I think it's so that when a certain minister is slacking off, he can take on more of the work, right?" Parvati snorted.
Hermione heard Parvati's words, tilted her head to think for a moment, and then smiled knowingly.
"Hmm, you're right."
Pavati, caught off guard by being suddenly fed a mouthful of dog food, waved his hand with a look of disgust.
"Your husband is always wandering around outside. Aren't you afraid he'll be seduced by some vixen?"
Hermione lightly dipped her quill into the ink and blinked as she spoke.
"Of course I'm scared. The various love letters that witches send to him every day are enough to burn as firewood in my fireplace until Christmas."
"Then why do you let him run around outside every day?"
"You have to trust him enough. If he really wants to find some other woman outside, I can't stop him even if I want to."
Hermione had a smile on her face the whole time she was talking.
It's that kind of faint smile that unconsciously comes to mind when you talk about that person, and you can't help but smile when you think of them.
"You've been married for so long, and you already have three kids, and you're still showing off your love every day!" Parvati's face scrunched up with jealousy. "I'm not going to talk to you anymore, or I won't be able to eat dinner."
"Please deliver this document to the Auror Command. Their budget for this month has exceeded the limit, and the excess will be deducted from next month's budget."
Parvati left Hermione's office with the documents that had flown into her hands.
Being the head of the Ministry of Magic is very demanding, especially in the First Division, the Division of Magical Law Enforcement, and even more so in the case of her superior, the Minister, who often liked to dump his work on his little wife.
Despite the hard work, Hermione was still very happy.
When it was time to leave work, she finished assigning the last task for the day to her department. Her employee Simo, who always tended to make things complicated but had a decent attitude, suddenly approached her hesitantly.
"Director, there's something I'm not sure if I should say."
Hermione looked up at him and said gently.
"Are you having any difficulties at work? If something has happened, don't hide it; talking about it will help us resolve the issue better."
"No, it wasn't me, it was the minister."
Hermione smiled as she watched Seamus hesitate, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.
"What's wrong with him?"
Finally, as if summoning his courage, Ximo whispered.
"I saw the minister on the street today when I went to Gringotts in Diagon Alley to retrieve important documents."
"Isn't it normal to see him? He always likes to wander around, so it's not surprising to see him in Diagon Alley."
"But he wasn't alone," Seamus said mysteriously. "He was with a mature, beautiful witch with long, wavy hair."
Hermione shrugged.
"What's so strange about him walking with other people? There are many people in the wizarding world who know him. Maybe he's a former classmate from Hogwarts who just happened to run into him in Diagon Alley."
"But that witch kept holding the minister's arm, behaving quite intimately!"
Hermione's expression faltered slightly upon hearing his words, but she quickly shook her head with a smile.
"Are you sure you're not mistaken? Maybe that person isn't him at all, or maybe the one with the long, wavy hair is actually a male wizard, not a female wizard."
Simo scratched his head: "That's certainly possible. After all, I didn't see their faces clearly, and how could the minister possibly do such a thing?"
Hermione got up from her desk.
"Okay, thank you for telling me what you know, but I have to go home now, my kids are waiting for me."
"Director, why are you leaving so early today?"
"Today is a special day, I need to go home early to be with the children."
Hermione left her office and then Apparated back to her front door.
She pushed open her front door, changed out of her high heels and into comfortable slippers in the entryway, and heard a commotion inside as soon as she entered.
"Damn it! You're so stupid, Ron! You keep getting run over by that little turtle and dying!"
"I bet you're not much better off! You jumped and then missed, dying in the process!"
"You're such a weakling!"
"You're the noob!"
"You are! You are! You are!"
Hermione hung the robes on the hanger and frowned as she lectured Harry and Ron.
"Don't argue while playing games, and absolutely no swearing!"
Harry and Ron were clearly afraid of her; when they saw Hermione return home, they immediately sat up straight.
"Okay, Mom."
"Where is your sister?"
"She's probably still in the kitchen, preparing to sneak a bite of that big cake you brought back yesterday!"
"Yes, she dreams of eating it."
Upon hearing this, Hermione had no time to deal with the two mischievous children and hurriedly went to the kitchen to check if the cake had been stolen.
As soon as she entered the kitchen, she saw Umaru sitting obediently at the dining table, staring longingly at the cakes in the cupboard, while munching on bread.
"Why are you eating bread here?" Hermione asked, relieved but somewhat amused.
Umaru said in a very serious tone.
"If you keep staring at the cake like this, the bread in your mouth will taste like cream."
"No need to rush, you can have this cake tonight, but we'll have to wait for your dad to come back."
"He'll be back this afternoon," Umaru said, blinking her eyes. "And he'll be with a pretty auntie!"
